0 stars for Arthur Drager and his law firm. Soooo many errors. The guy used our parents’ estate and family’s good name as an advertising tool for himself and his firm. That’s the least offensive thing he did! The rest should have had him removed (we petitioned the court to do so) but it seems our counsel was afraid of his counsel. EVERY possible thing he could do wrong - he did. It’s all about padding his pockets… and his buddy’s pockets (like Billig Auction Service) and one of my sisters who is in a different kind of his pocket. Can you say conflict of interest? Needless to say, decisions were made to benefit Drager and the one sister. Meanwhile the other 3 of us heirs’ majority voice was ignored. Stay clear of this guy! We have reason to believe he slipped in a different document at the last minute since our mother had voiced a different intention before meeting with him. We also have a relative who signed a will where Drager had slipped his name in as PR in the event the person our relative appointed died… unknown to the signer. BEWARE!
Estate planning, elder law, and related legal matters are deeply personal and critically important for individuals and families across Maryland. Drager Law Offices, detailing their accessible Baltimore location and the services they generally offer within the realm of estate planning and elder law. The process of planning an estate or managing the legal needs of an elder can be complex, involving numerous legal documents and a clear understanding of family dynamics and individual wishes. Trust and transparency are foundational to the attorney-client relationship in these areas. While the Arthur L. Drager Law Offices ostensibly aim to assist clients with these intricate processes, recent feedback from former clients presents serious concerns regarding service delivery, transparency, and potential conflicts of interest. One review alleges "soooo many errors" and the use of a family's name for advertising, alongside claims of decisions being made to "benefit Drager and the one sister," ignoring the "majority voice" of other heirs. Another review expresses dissatisfaction with a scheduled consultation for Power of Attorney paperwork, where the attorney was perceived as unhelpful, pushing for a more expensive guardianship process instead of assisting with a simpler hospital notary solution. These powerful testimonials indicate significant areas of concern regarding client satisfaction, ethical conduct, and the firm's approach to client needs.
For Maryland residents considering legal services in estate planning or elder law, these reviews highlight the critical importance of conducting thorough due diligence. While a law firm's stated services are one aspect, the actual client experience and adherence to ethical standards are paramount. The information provided here aims to present both the firm's publicly available details and the candid experiences shared by past clients, allowing prospective clients to approach their decision with caution and a commitment to verifying all aspects of potential representation.

This involves court petitions and ongoing reporting. (Note: One review suggests the firm may advocate for this more complex and costly option).

Features / Highlights
Given the provided reviews, the "Features / Highlights" section for Arthur L. Drager Law Offices presents a complex picture. It is crucial to present these points factually, incorporating the concerns raised by clients, as this forms part of the "available public data."
Central Baltimore Location: The firm's office at 1 N Charles St #1200 offers a highly accessible and convenient location for clients in Baltimore and the surrounding Maryland region, well-served by public transport.
Focus on Estate Planning and Elder Law: The firm appears to specialize in areas such as estate administration, wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, which are critical legal needs for many individuals and families.
Concern Regarding Transparency and Ethical Conduct: Several reviews raise serious allegations of "soooo many errors," decisions made to "benefit Drager and sister" rather than all heirs, and potential "conflict of interest." One review explicitly claims Drager "slipped in a different document at the last minute" or inserted his name as PR without the signer's knowledge, suggesting a lack of transparency and potentially unethical practices.
Client Dissatisfaction with Service Delivery: A review indicates a perceived lack of helpfulness during a Power of Attorney consultation, where the attorney allegedly "pushed for someone to file for guardianship (which is way more money for him)" instead of facilitating a simpler, free hospital notary service. This suggests a perceived prioritization of higher fees over client-friendly solutions.
Allegations of Self-Interest and Fee Padding: The phrase "It's all about padding his pockets… and his buddy’s pockets" directly accuses the firm of prioritizing financial gain over client interests.
Lack of Responsiveness to Client Needs: One review notes a "petitioned the court to removed" but felt their own counsel was "afraid of his counsel," implying a challenging and unresponsive situation for the aggrieved parties.

Law firms specializing in estate planning and elder law often provide initial consultations, which may or may not be free, to discuss a client's needs. Given the concerns raised in reviews, it would be prudent for any prospective client to clarify all fee structures and service expectations upfront.

However, based on the highly critical and detailed reviews from real customers, potential clients in Maryland are strongly advised to exercise significant caution and conduct extremely thorough due diligence before engaging the Arthur L. Drager Law Offices. The allegations of numerous errors, questionable ethical practices, potential conflicts of interest, and a perceived prioritization of firm profits over client needs are very serious. Specifically, concerns about documents being "slipped in" and a disinclination to provide simpler, less costly solutions (like hospital notaries) in favor of more expensive legal processes (like guardianship) raise red flags about transparency and client advocacy. While every firm has its detractors, the consistent and severe nature of these complaints suggests a pattern of potentially problematic service. For Maryland locals, the message from past clients is a clear "BEWARE!" It is crucial to prioritize an attorney who can demonstrate a clear record of ethical practice, transparent communication, and a genuine commitment to their clients' best interests, especially when dealing with such sensitive and impactful legal matters.

Nov 25, 2023 · Deb AbrahamHad a scheduled consultation to speak with drager law offices for Power of Attorney Paperwork. He wasn’t helpful at all. He basically told me he can draw up to POA contract but I would have to get it notarized, which defeats the purpose of paying him $400 + still having to pay for notary, because he doesn’t go into the hospital for his own safety (which is understandable) but that doesn’t mean you push for someone to file for guardianship (which is way more money for him) because you don’t want to do the leg work of having to go into hospitals an notarize forms. The social workers ended up doing a hospital notary for FREE and my dad was able to obtain POA. Please check with the medical facility first and or ask for resources on how to obtain the paperwork. I wish I could give this credit to Mr. Drager but unfortunately I cannot.
Apr 24, 2023 · Nikita JohnsonI am in tears and heart broken due to the in action of Arthur L. Drager. He was appointed by the City of Baltimore and I am astounded by his do nothing attitude and his refusal to respond to inquiries. I don't understand how he is still practicing in Baltimore City. Have you no shame?
May 22, 2024 · Denise ColesMr. Drager helped with my father-in-law's power of attorney and estate. He also did an AMAZING job on our wills and power of attorneys. I highly recommend his practice. He has offices in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore and also does work in Thurmont, Maryland.
Mar 23, 2021 · Jennifer CrispinDraeger was assigned by the Baltimore City Court on behalf of my brother who became disabled. He tried to run up the charges as much as possible.
