J. Bissell Robertswas randomly assigned as our real estate mediator. We bought a house that was greatly misrepresented and cost us $15,000 in necessary repairs and replacements. As advised by our attorney, Rob DeWeese, we turned in all the receipts a month in advance along with explanations. We answered Mr. Robert's assistant's questions in a timely manner. It was apparent the day of the mediation appointment that Mr. Robert's was unprepared and he was asking basic questions about the receipts and summary of what occurred that made it apparent he had not taken the time to review the information. He came back to us after speaking with the owners and real estate agent saying "they didn't know anything about any of the broken, malfunctioning or construction that needed to be replaced objects. Neither did the realtor. We were offered a few hundred dollars and that was the end of the discussion. Our only option was to spend more money taking it to arbitration. After we paid our attorney we cleared $400. I thought mediators reviewed objective proof, reviewed explanations from both sides and came to a fair solution. Not walk in and respond to my attorney's greeting with "I've been so busy I haven't had time to do anything." That was obvious.

Based on the available information, Bissell Roberts appears to offer services that include acting as a real estate mediator. One detailed review from a client who was assigned Bissell Roberts as their real estate mediator provides insight into their experience. In this case, the clients had purchased a house with significant misrepresentations, leading to $15,000 in necessary repairs. They followed their attorney's advice, submitting all relevant receipts and explanations a month prior to the mediation appointment and promptly answering questions from Mr. Roberts' assistant.

However, the client's review expresses dissatisfaction with the mediation process. They noted that on the day of the appointment, it seemed apparent that Mr. Roberts was unprepared, asking basic questions that suggested he had not reviewed the submitted information. Following discussions with the sellers and the real estate agent, Mr. Roberts reportedly stated that they claimed no knowledge of the issues. The mediation resulted in an offer of a few hundred dollars, which the clients felt was insufficient, leaving them with the option of pursuing arbitration at further expense. The client's overall impression was that Mr. Roberts did not adequately review the objective proof and explanations provided, contrasting with their expectation of a mediator who would work towards a fair solution.

Another brief review simply states "Good attorneys," which offers a contrasting perspective, though it lacks specific details about the services provided or the context of the positive feedback. This suggests that experiences with Bissell Roberts may vary.

Given the information available, it is important for local users searching for “Lawyers Near Me” to consider both perspectives.
