Recently went through a divorce, did alot of research of reviews online to try and find a good attorney and found Bill Bratton. He was on the more expensive side so figured he knew his stuff. Long story short found out the hard way expensive doesn't mean good. I went to actual court 1 time, the rest of the process was him and the other attorney going back and forth racking up the bill. Bill Bratton was trying to negotiate a settlement during the process using the home value of $600k. I explained to Bill that the house was worth way more than that and that the value of the house was my most major concern when trying to come up with a settlement so that I can get a good chunk of money out of the divorce. I put everything I had in the home, built a pool, spa, built a massive outdoor bar, new flooring, paint, landscaping, kitchen, etc... I wanted my fair share for the home so I can recoup as much as I could. He said the house was estimated on Zillow to be $600k and I explained that Zillow is not a good source to value the home. He should know this and he should have fought tooth and nail for the true value of the home so that I could get as much as possible out of it. He failed to do so. I ended up settling for hundreds of thousands less because of this. As soon as the divorce was final my ex wife put the house on the market for $1,038,000. I paid Bill Brattons office close to $70k in attorney fees and went to court 1 TIME!!! He kept using scare tactics on me rather than insuring me that I'd do better in court than to settle. I do not recommend his service to anyone. This review will most likely be deleted due to him being an attorney but thought I'd give it a shot. I will be having the State Bar review my case and billing.

Bratton & Razo Introduce

As part of the "Lawyers Near Me" platform, which aims to provide comprehensive introductions to legal professionals for local users, we present an overview of Bratton & Razo. This law firm is located at 4046 Chestnut St, Riverside, CA 92501, USA. This introduction will objectively detail the firm's environment, the types of services it offers, its key features, and relevant promotional information, drawing from the provided address, contact details, and, significantly, from direct client reviews which offer a varied perspective on their service.

Bratton & Razo is situated in Riverside, California, a key city in the Southern California region. The address, 4046 Chestnut St, suggests a presence in a professional district, typical for law offices. While specific details about the interior design or architectural style of the office are not available, it is reasonable to expect a professional and confidential environment. A law office is designed to provide a secure and comfortable space for clients to discuss sensitive personal matters. The location within Riverside would generally imply good accessibility for local residents, making it a convenient choice for those seeking legal assistance within the city and surrounding areas.

For direct communication, Bratton & Razo can be reached via phone at (951) 987-5308 or mobile phone at +1 951-987-5308. The provision of both contact numbers indicates a commitment to accessibility, allowing clients to connect with the firm through their preferred method. This ease of contact is often a crucial factor for individuals navigating potentially stressful legal processes.

Based on the provided client testimonials, the primary area of service for Bratton & Razo appears to be family law, specifically divorce. Both reviews discuss experiences related to divorce proceedings, indicating a specialization in this complex and often emotionally charged field. Within divorce cases, the firm would typically handle a range of related issues, which could include:

  • Marital Property Division: This involves dividing assets and debts acquired during the marriage, which, as highlighted in one review, can be a major point of contention, especially concerning real estate.
  • Spousal Support (Alimony): Determining if and how much financial support one spouse will provide to the other after divorce.
  • Child Custody and Visitation: Establishing arrangements for the care and upbringing of minor children.
  • Child Support: Calculating and enforcing financial obligations for child care.
The focus on divorce as a core service suggests that the firm possesses expertise in navigating the intricate legal and emotional landscape of marital dissolution, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation as needed.

The features of Bratton & Razo, as illuminated by the client reviews, present a mixed but insightful picture.

  • Expertise and Wisdom in Craft: One positive review states, "Mr. Bratton's expertise in a time of emotional chaos was needed and in turn assisted with a deal that packaged everything I asked for. I am grateful for his wisdom in his craft and encourage others to seek his counsel in a tumultuous time." This highlights a perceived high level of legal skill and strategic insight, particularly in complex divorce negotiations.
  • Diligence and Client Understanding: The same positive review notes that Mr. Bratton and his team were "extremely diligent... to help me understand the process." They took "the time to answer the many questions" and outlined tasks for the client to assist in the process, which empowered the client. This suggests a firm that values client education and collaboration.
  • Empowerment and Guidance: The client felt "guided well and given ideas of what was in my right to ask for which empowered me." This indicates an approach that seeks to inform and empower clients throughout their legal journey.
  • Cost and Value Perception: One review notes that Bill Bratton was "on the more expensive side." While one client found the outcome worth the investment, the other felt they "wasted my money" and incurred "close to $70k in attorney fees" for limited court appearances. This highlights a critical feature: the perception of value for legal fees, which can vary significantly depending on the client's expectations and the case's complexity.
  • Negotiation and Settlement Approach: A negative review critically assesses the negotiation strategy, specifically concerning property valuation. The client felt that Bill Bratton "failed to do so" in fighting for the true value of the home and used "scare tactics" rather than encouraging litigation. This suggests a tendency towards settlement, which can be a double-edged sword: efficient but potentially leading to perceived under-settlement if not handled to the client's satisfaction regarding asset valuation. The use of Zillow for home valuation, rather than a professional appraisal, was a significant point of contention for this client.
  • Communication and Client Advocacy Style: The contrasting reviews highlight different client experiences with the firm's communication and advocacy style. While one client appreciated being guided, the other felt "scare tactics" were used and that the attorney didn't sufficiently fight for their financial interests regarding a key asset. This suggests a direct or assertive style that might not suit all client personalities or expectations.
These features, derived from direct client feedback, offer a more nuanced understanding of the firm's operational characteristics and client relations.

Promotional information for Bratton & Razo would likely emphasize their specialization in family law, particularly divorce, and their experience in handling complex cases. The positive testimonial about Mr. Bratton's "expertise" and "wisdom in his craft" could be used to highlight their legal acumen and ability to secure favorable deals. They might promote their approach of guiding clients through emotionally challenging times and empowering them with knowledge about their rights. Given the emphasis on property division in the negative review, the firm might also promote its capabilities in asset valuation and ensuring equitable distribution of marital property, potentially highlighting their strategic approach to negotiations and settlements in divorce cases. The mention of being "on the more expensive side" suggests that they likely target clients seeking high-quality, comprehensive representation rather than budget-focused services. Their accessible contact numbers, (951) 987-5308 and +1 951-987-5308, would be prominently featured to encourage inquiries. Their listing on "Lawyers Near Me" also serves as a fundamental promotional channel, making them discoverable to local users actively seeking divorce and family law services in Riverside.

In conclusion, Bratton & Razo in Riverside, CA, located at 4046 Chestnut St, is a law firm primarily focused on family law, especially divorce proceedings, including complex issues like property division. They can be reached at (951) 987-5308 or +1 951-987-5308. Client reviews indicate a mixed experience, highlighting Bill Bratton's legal expertise and ability to achieve desired outcomes for some clients, particularly through diligent guidance and understanding of the process. However, one significant critique points to concerns regarding perceived inadequate property valuation strategies, high legal fees for limited court appearances, and a communication style that might not always align with client expectations for aggressive advocacy on asset recovery. For local users on "Lawyers Near Me" seeking legal counsel for divorce and related family law matters, Bratton & Razo presents an option that emphasizes experience and strategic negotiation, but prospective clients should carefully consider their specific needs and expectations regarding attorney fees and litigation strategy, particularly in asset-heavy cases.

I hired Mr. Bratton for my divorce. From the beginning he took the time to answer the many questions I had about the process and was extremely diligent (along with his team) to help me understand the process. I explained that I had limited funds and would like to do as much of the foot work necessary to help the divorce along. He outlined my tasks and encouraged me along the way. I was guided well and given ideas of what was in my right to ask for which empowered me. Mr. Bratton's expertise in a time of emotional chaos was needed and in turn assisted with a deal that packaged everything I asked for. I am grateful for his wisdom in his craft and encourage others to seek his counsel in a tumultuous time.

I had a previous divorce that took forever and a succession of FIVE attorneys. For my recent divorce, I searched online and discovered the stellar reviews for William Bratton, I hired him to represent me-sight unseen! When I had to leave the state and move across the country; Bill, and his partner, Mike Razo, and my paralegal, Toni, were great so I had the confidence they would take care of me. Bill was adept at engaging firmly with my husband yet remaining fair. His skill and experience were instrumental in securing the best outcome for my case. I was impressed with Mike Razo for his excellent handling of my remote appearance for court, and his patient attention to my concerns. I trust and highly recommend this superior law firm and would not hesitate to utilize them again.
