This attorney mislead me in order to get me to pay him for services. He claimed to have a good relationship with the lawyers in the opposing party, which would help him reach a quick settlement. It took him almost a month to reach out to the opposing party, which he had no clue who to contact. He told me that he would charge me for four hours plus attend the trial setting conference. He explained the trial setting conference takes awhile because it requires a lot of waiting around. Because of this he would not deduct any hours for waiting around. As soon as the trial setting conference was over, he claimed I used all my hours up. The only thing this lawyer did for all the money he charged me was after I had to get the information on who he should contact he wrote a letter and spoke to them once. He claimed he was going to follow up and try to reach a settlement, but that never happened. I raised several concerns reminding him of his promises, and I asked questions in which the majority of the time he was very rude. Some of my questions he never answered. He never picked up the phone once. He said he's going to charge me for every email he has to answer and would send these long emails trying to defend himself. This was a horrible experience. I have dealt with several employment attorneys in the past and this has never been my experience. I filed a complaint with the bar!

Online reviews offer direct accounts of client experiences, which can be valuable in understanding the potential environment, services, and features of this legal practice.
One review details a deeply negative experience, alleging that the attorney, Steven Paul Cohn, engaged in misleading practices to secure payment for services. The reviewer claims Mr. Cohn misrepresented having a strong rapport with opposing counsel to suggest a swift settlement. However, the review states that it took nearly a month for Mr. Cohn to initiate contact with the opposing party, whom he reportedly did not initially know how to reach. The billing practices described are also a point of contention. The reviewer was allegedly informed of a four-hour minimum charge plus the time spent at a trial setting conference, with no deduction for waiting time. Following the conference, the reviewer was informed that all allocated hours had been used.
According to this account, the tangible actions taken by Mr. Cohn for the fees charged were limited to writing a letter and a single phone conversation after the client provided the necessary contact information for the opposing party. The promised follow-up to pursue a settlement reportedly never occurred. The reviewer further alleges that their concerns and questions were often met with rudeness and frequently went unanswered. Phone calls were allegedly never returned, and Mr. Cohn purportedly indicated he would bill for responding to emails, often sending lengthy messages defending his actions. This reviewer summarizes their experience as "horrible" and states they have filed a complaint with the bar.
A second review echoes similar negative sentiments regarding the services provided by Steven Cohn in an employment issue. This client describes the outcome as "horrible" and the work as "very inconsequential." The reviewer alleges that Mr. Cohn exaggerated the seriousness of the legal problem to justify "exorbitant legal fees." Post-payment, the client claims Mr. Cohn became unresponsive for days at a time and displayed a lack of recall regarding previously provided information. The reviewer further states that Mr. Cohn found excuses to neglect the case and was unwilling to continue representation. Upon the client's decision to seek new counsel and request a refund, Mr. Cohn reportedly refused to reimburse any fees. A serious breach of confidentiality is also alleged, with the reviewer claiming that sensitive case information was shared with a third party without their consent. This reviewer strongly regrets hiring Mr. Cohn and encourages others to contact them directly for more details to aid in their decision-making process.
Based on these two publicly available reviews, there are significant concerns regarding the professional conduct, communication, billing practices, and effectiveness of Cohn Steven Paul. Both reviewers express strong dissatisfaction with their experiences and raise serious allegations about the attorney's behavior and the services provided. These accounts suggest a potentially negative environment for clients, marked by poor communication, unexpected billing practices, and a perceived lack of diligent representation.

Dec 03, 2022 · Mygo2 LegalI hired Steven to deal with an employment issue and the result is horrible. His work was also very inconsequential. He exaggerated the seriousness of the problem and lured me into paying him exorbitant legal fees. However, after receiving the lawyer's fee, he ignored it and often did not respond to my inquiry for a few days. He didn't remember the information I gave him and then found various reasons to neglect and be unwilling to continue. When I finally decided to use another attorney and asked for a refund, he was unwilling to refund me for various reasons. He also shared the sensitive case information with a third party without my permission. I wish I had never found him online in the beginning. If you are looking for this lawyer, you can email me, and I will give you more details to make a decision.
