Although I am biased in favor of Virginia Criste after 30 years plus of opposing her, she is a highly respected colleague who is probably the most effective family law attorney in the Coachella Valley in cases where numbers (as in income available to pay or defend against spousal and child support applications and in valuing the property interests in businesses and professional practices as part of the property division equation) require the use of forensic accountants and complicated formulas that an attorney must interpret and present persuasively to the court. And, she volunteers her time as a court appointed attorney for minor children whose parent(s) are enmeshed in hostility that they cannot set aside on their own.

Criste Virginia S Introduce

Navigating family law issues such as divorce, child custody, support, and property division can be emotionally and legally challenging. The "Lawyers Near Me" platform aims to connect local users with attorneys who possess the necessary expertise to guide them through these complexities. This introduction focuses on Criste Virginia S, an attorney with an office located at 225 S Civic Dr SUITE 1-3, Palm Springs, CA 92262, USA. We aim to provide an objective overview based on the available client reviews, which present contrasting perspectives.

Criste Virginia S can be contacted by phone at (760) 341-1144 or via mobile phone at +1 760-341-1144. Situated on South Civic Drive in Palm Springs, her office is located in an area likely accessible to residents and businesses within Palm Springs and the surrounding Coachella Valley communities. While specific details about the office environment are not provided, it is typical for legal practices to maintain a professional setting for client consultations and case management. The suite number suggests that her office is part of a larger professional building.

The provided client reviews offer insights into Criste Virginia S's areas of legal practice, primarily within family law. Based on these reviews, her services likely include:

  • Complex Family Law Cases: The first review highlights her effectiveness in cases involving significant financial considerations, such as high income for spousal and child support, and the valuation of business and professional practice interests for property division. This suggests expertise in handling financially intricate divorce and separation cases.
  • Spousal Support (Alimony): Representing clients seeking or defending against spousal support claims, particularly those involving substantial income and complicated financial analyses.
  • Child Support: Assisting clients with child support applications and defense, often involving income assessment and application of relevant guidelines.
  • Property Division: Handling the division of marital assets, including complex valuations of businesses and professional practices, often requiring the involvement of forensic accountants.
  • Minor's Counsel (Court Appointed): Representing the best interests of minor children in high-conflict custody cases where parents are unable to resolve their disputes amicably. This involves independent investigation and advocacy for the child's well-being.

The two provided client reviews offer contrasting perspectives on Criste Virginia S's features and approach:

  • Positive Review (Colleague's Perspective): A fellow attorney with over 30 years of experience opposing Ms. Criste describes her as a "highly respected colleague" and "probably the most effective family law attorney in the Coachella Valley" in complex financial cases. This reviewer emphasizes her ability to interpret and persuasively present complicated financial information to the court, particularly when forensic accountants are involved. The review also notes her volunteer work as a court-appointed attorney for minor children in high-conflict cases.
  • Negative Review (Parent's Perspective): A parent who had Ms. Criste appointed as their child's minor's counsel expresses extremely negative experiences. This reviewer alleges that Ms. Criste was "sexist" and acted against efforts to protect the child, favoring the mother despite documented safety concerns. The review claims Ms. Criste disregarded evidence, expert opinions, and witnesses, leading to severe trauma and developmental delays for the child. The reviewer further accuses Ms. Criste of perjury, child endangerment, and violation of court orders, stating that a bar complaint would be filed. This perspective portrays a complete disregard for the child's welfare and biased representation.

Given the starkly contrasting nature of these reviews, providing objective promotional information is challenging. The positive review from a peer highlights her expertise in complex financial family law matters and her willingness to volunteer as minor's counsel, suggesting a dedication to the legal profession and, in some instances, to the welfare of children. This could be seen as promotional in the context of her professional capabilities in handling intricate financial disputes.

However, the severely negative review raises significant concerns about her conduct as minor's counsel, alleging unethical and harmful behavior. This perspective directly contradicts any positive promotional messaging regarding her representation of children and raises serious questions about her professional judgment in certain cases.

For local users in Palm Springs seeking a "Lawyers Near Me" for family law matters, the information available presents a complex picture. Potential clients should carefully consider both perspectives:

  • For Complex Financial Cases: The positive review from a long-time opposing counsel strongly suggests that Criste Virginia S possesses significant expertise in handling family law cases with intricate financial aspects, including spousal and child support calculations involving high income and the valuation of business interests for property division. If your case involves such complexities, her acknowledged effectiveness in this area may be a significant factor to consider.
  • For Cases Involving Child Welfare: The negative review regarding her role as minor's counsel raises serious red flags. If your case involves child custody disputes and the need for a minor's counsel, this review should be carefully considered and may warrant seeking additional information or alternative representation. The allegations of bias and disregard for the child's safety are grave and should not be ignored.
  • Volunteer Work as Minor's Counsel: The positive review notes her volunteer work in this capacity, which could indicate a commitment to children's welfare in some situations. However, this contrasts sharply with the allegations in the negative review.

Given the conflicting information, it is crucial for potential clients to conduct thorough due diligence. If your case involves complex financial issues in a divorce or separation, Criste Virginia S's acknowledged expertise in this area might be a significant asset. However, if your case involves child welfare and the potential need for a minor's counsel, the serious allegations in the negative review warrant extreme caution and the need for further investigation or consideration of alternative legal representation.

To make an informed decision, potential clients should consider the following steps:

  • Contact Criste Virginia S's Office: Reach out to her office at (760) 341-1144 to inquire about her specific experience and approach to cases similar to yours.
  • Seek Additional Reviews or References: Look for other online reviews or ask for professional references to gain a broader understanding of her client experiences.
  • Schedule a Consultation: Meet with Ms. Criste for an initial consultation to discuss your case in detail and assess her suitability for your specific needs. Pay close attention to her communication style, her understanding of your situation, and her proposed strategy.
  • For Child Welfare Cases, Exercise Extreme Caution: If your case involves child custody and the need for a minor's counsel, carefully weigh the serious allegations in the negative review. Consider seeking recommendations for other attorneys with a strong reputation for child advocacy and a demonstrated commitment to protecting children's best interests.

In conclusion, Criste Virginia S in Palm Springs appears to have a strong reputation among her peers for handling complex financial matters in family law. However, a concerning negative review regarding her conduct as minor's counsel presents a significant caveat, particularly for cases involving child welfare. Potential clients should carefully weigh these contrasting perspectives and conduct thorough due diligence to determine if her services align with their specific legal needs and to ensure the best possible representation in their family law matters.

She was court appointed to be my child's minor's counsel, because a safety plan was necessary regarding a thoroughly documented dangerous mother with mental health, violence and criminal issues. Ms Criste proved to be a sexist who fraught against every effort to protect the child she was supposed to represent. The child suffered severe trauma and developmental delays as a direct result of Ms Criste fighting on behalf of the mother for no reason other than gender, with complete disregard of the harm to the child. She even refused to view videos and consider the opinions of experts and witnesses..She committed perjury, child endangerment and violation of multiple court orders. The child suffered severely for 2 1/2 years as the result of her actions and inaction. She will be receiving a Bar complaint shortly. If you are a criminal abusive female parent without morals or care of the safety of your child, Ms Criste is the attorney for you.
