As a large, full-service national law firm like Dickinson Wright, standard business practices typically do not include publicly advertised "promotions" or "special offers" in the consumer-oriented sense. The legal services provided, especially in complex areas such as corporate law, litigation, and intellectual property, are highly bespoke and tailored to the unique needs of each client and case. The fees for such services reflect the extensive expertise, attorney time, and resources required.
However, it is a common professional practice for law firms of this stature to offer initial consultations to prospective clients. While the specific nature of these consultations (e.g., whether they are complimentary, offered at a reduced rate, or billed at a standard hourly rate) is generally not advertised, interested parties are strongly encouraged to contact the Dickinson Wright Seattle office directly to inquire about scheduling such a meeting.
During an initial consultation, potential clients would typically have the opportunity to:
Discuss the specifics of their legal needs or challenges.
Receive a preliminary assessment of their situation from a legal perspective.
Understand the potential scope of legal work involved.
Clarify the firm’s fee structure, including retainers, hourly rates, and estimated costs for the anticipated legal services.
Transparency regarding legal fees and billing practices is a professional standard. While one past review mentioned concerns about billing transparency, reputable firms strive to address these proactively. Clients can expect a clear explanation of costs and billing procedures during their initial discussions with the firm, allowing them to make informed decisions about engaging legal representation.

Nov 13, 2023 · Robin Naughton ReedThey ultimately resolved my dispute, but communication and responsiveness were not great. Not transparent about hours worked on my case and fee schedule. I wasn't ever made aware of my balance and one day got a surprise bill in the mail several months later (despite asking to be billed early on). My questions were brushed off, and interactions a bit detached and unfriendly. I think I could have had a better outcome for my situation going elsewhere where there's empathy for the "little guy."
