Receptionist has ZERO compassion for people. Told me I was arguing and I was just looking for help and sympathy as I need help filing an appeal for my SSI. I have less than 2 weeks before my payments are cut in half for no reason (just received the notice today). Just wanted to talk to a lawyer for 10 minutes. I will not be able to afford to live.
Welcome to Lawyers Near Me, your platform for connecting with legal professionals in your local area. Today, we focus on Disability Attorneys of Minnesota, a law firm located at 331 2nd Ave S #890 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This firm specializes in handling cases related to disability law, including Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims and appeals. For local residents facing challenges in obtaining disability benefits, understanding the services and client experiences associated with Disability Attorneys of Minnesota is crucial.
The office of Disability Attorneys of Minnesota is situated in downtown Minneapolis, offering accessibility for individuals seeking legal assistance with their disability claims. While specific details about the firm's environment are not provided in the reviews, it is typical for law offices specializing in sensitive areas like disability law to offer a private and professional setting for client consultations. Given the often stressful and personal nature of disability claims, a supportive and understanding environment is generally expected.
The core service offered by Disability Attorneys of Minnesota is legal representation for individuals seeking Social Security disability benefits. This includes assistance with initial applications, navigating the complex appeals process when claims are denied, and representing clients at administrative hearings. Disability attorneys in this field typically possess a deep understanding of the Social Security Administration's rules, regulations, and medical criteria for determining disability. They play a crucial role in helping claimants present their case effectively, gather necessary medical evidence, and advocate for their right to benefits.
However, the limited number of customer reviews available online paint a concerning picture of the client experience at Disability Attorneys of Minnesota. One review describes a negative interaction with the receptionist, citing a lack of compassion and an dismissive attitude towards an individual seeking help with an SSI appeal. The reviewer, facing an imminent reduction in benefits and potential homelessness, expressed feeling unheard and unsupported during their initial contact. This raises concerns about the firm's initial intake process and the level of empathy extended to vulnerable individuals seeking assistance.
Another review details a deeply troubling experience with an attorney at the firm following a denied appeal. The reviewer alleges that the attorney was unresponsive at a hearing and later misrepresented communication regarding starting a new claim. The client, who reports experiencing homelessness and food insecurity after six years of attempting to secure disability benefits, describes feeling abandoned and that their case was closed without adequate support or communication. This account raises serious questions about the firm's follow-through with clients, the quality of representation provided, and the level of care for individuals in dire circumstances.
Given these critical reviews, it is challenging to highlight positive features of Disability Attorneys of Minnesota based solely on the available online feedback. The experiences shared by these two individuals suggest potential issues with client communication, empathy, and the thoroughness of representation. For local users seeking a disability attorney, these reviews serve as important points to consider and potentially investigate further.
There is no promotional information available for Disability Attorneys of Minnesota in the provided data. Typically, disability law firms might offer free initial consultations to assess potential cases or highlight their success rates in disability claims and appeals. However, in the absence of such information and the presence of negative client experiences, it is difficult to objectively present any promotional aspects of the firm.
For local users in the Lawyers Near Me category in Minneapolis who are seeking assistance with Social Security disability claims or appeals, Disability Attorneys of Minnesota is one option located downtown. However, the available customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding the client experience, particularly in terms of communication, empathy, and the level of support provided during critical stages of the disability process. Individuals considering this firm may want to seek additional information, perhaps through other online review platforms or by directly contacting the firm to discuss their approach to client service and representation in detail.
In conclusion, Disability Attorneys of Minnesota specializes in disability law and is located in Minneapolis. However, the limited online reviews present serious concerns about the firm's client interactions and the quality of representation provided in at least two instances. Local users seeking a disability attorney should carefully consider these experiences and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging their services. It may be prudent to seek additional feedback and potentially explore other disability law firms in the Minneapolis area to ensure they find representation that meets their needs with compassion and effectiveness.

Aug 15, 2023 · Crystal NordlandAfter my appeal was denied this "attorney" said nothing at my hearing and then claimed that I did not respond to a letter he sent me. Which I did call him twice on and he said he would help me starting a new claim. when I went to follow up on this he claimed that we never talked and he didn't know what I was talking about and that my case was closed by him.this wasn't very helpful as I have been trying for 6 years and am now homeless and haven't eaten in 3 days.
Jun 09, 2020 · Shawna Shykes (Reverend)Most shotty attorney (Ed Olson) I've ever NOT worked with. He dropped the ball on my daughter's appeal causing me to have to start a 2 year process over and losing all back pay. He never called to inform me that he dropped the, but continued to lie and say he sent an appeal when he knowingly had not. I have reported him to the state bar. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS "attorney"
