Horrible attorney! Do not waste your money on him. My sister is serving a 12 yr sentence over a car wreck. He told her to "plead guilty bc they will give you probation". He never defended her or spoke on her character. He sat there like a worthless POS! On top of it, he can't remember anything. He has signs of alzheimer's. Do not put your loved ones fate in this sad excuse of a "defense attorney".

E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law Introduce

Within the "Lawyers Near Me" platform category, E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law is a legal practice located in Dallas, Texas. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the firm based on the provided information, including its location, reported services, and detailed insights drawn directly from client reviews, which offer a critical perspective on the firm's features and overall performance.

Environment and Location

E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law is situated at 8828 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243, USA. This address places the firm in a commercial area of Dallas, likely offering accessibility to clients within the city and surrounding areas. While specific details about the interior environment of the office are not provided in the given information, a legal office typically aims to maintain a professional setting for client consultations. The focus of the available information is predominantly on client experiences with the legal services rather than the physical premises.

Services Offered

Based on the explicit details provided in the client reviews, E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law primarily engages in criminal defense. The reviews highlight instances where the attorney represented individuals facing serious charges, specifically mentioning a case involving "criminally negligent homicide" related to a car accident and another "bogus charge." This suggests that the firm handles significant criminal matters that can have life-altering consequences for clients. The context of the reviews indicates that clients sought legal representation for serious felony charges where the outcome directly impacted their freedom and future. While no other specific practice areas are detailed in the provided information, the firm's direct engagement in such critical criminal defense cases is evident.

Key Features and Client-Focused Approach

The provided client reviews offer a very direct and unvarnished perspective on the features and client-focused approach, or lack thereof, of E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law. These testimonials are critical in nature and highlight significant concerns:

  • Quality of Legal Services: Clients explicitly state, "Did the lawyer provide satisfactory legal services? NO!" and "Did the lawyer resolve your issue? HELL NO!" These strong negative responses indicate profound dissatisfaction with the outcomes and the overall quality of legal representation received. One client ended up serving a 12-year sentence, directly attributing it to the attorney's counsel to "plead guilty bc they will give you probation," which did not materialize as promised.
  • Knowledgeability: Regarding legal knowledge, the response was "somewhat?", implying that clients questioned the attorney's understanding or application of the law relevant to their cases. A particularly concerning detail is a client discovering vital exculpatory evidence (the deceased motorcyclist being a "3 time DWI suspect" and admitting to "coming from the bars" at the time of the accident) on their own, which "Not once did EX tell me that or anything." This suggests a significant failing in thorough investigation or disclosure of critical information relevant to the defense.
  • Communication and Information: Clients reported, "Did the lawyer keep you informed and up to date? NOPE!" This indicates a severe lack of communication and transparency. A client expressed shock at an unexpected sentencing day, stating, "I did not expect that day to be my sentencing... I did not have one single person from my family even there to support me because we didn't know that this was the day for sentencing." This lack of timely and clear communication had direct and negative emotional consequences for the client.
  • Professionalism and Demeanor: The attorney was described as "FAKE and puts on a front" and not "courteous and professional" by one reviewer. Another stated, "He sat there like a worthless POS!" during court proceedings, indicating a perceived lack of active defense and engagement. This feedback paints a picture of an attorney who did not appear to actively advocate for his clients during crucial moments.
  • Caring and Empathy: The review explicitly states, "Was the lawyer caring and empathetic? I would have to say no." The emotional distress of clients, particularly one dealing with "survivors guilt, depression, insomnia, anxiety, anger," was seemingly not met with the necessary support or understanding from the attorney.
  • Perceived Competence/Memory Issues: A highly concerning feature raised by a client is the attorney's alleged memory issues: "He can't remember anything. He has signs of alzheimer's." This serious accusation, if true, would severely impair an attorney's ability to provide effective legal counsel and manage complex cases, impacting strategy, client communication, and overall case handling.
  • Lack of Fight/Plea Bargain Approach: Clients strongly assert, "E.X. MART did not fight for me one bit" and "DO NOT GET HIM HE WILL NOT FIGHT FOR YOU. He will pleed you out and do as little work as possible and not even get a good deal." This feedback consistently points to a strategy of encouraging guilty pleas without sufficient negotiation or defense, leading to highly unfavorable outcomes for clients, even for first-time felony charges.

The severity and consistency of these negative remarks from former clients indicate profound issues with the firm's service delivery, ethical conduct, and the quality of legal representation. The phrase "Do not put your loved ones fate in this sad excuse of a 'defense attorney'" serves as a stark warning to prospective clients.

Promotional Information and Contact Details

The firm's presence on platforms like "Lawyers Near Me" serves as a basic listing. However, the provided client reviews directly contradict any positive promotional messaging typically associated with legal services. While contact information is available, the content of these reviews is likely to significantly influence potential clients' decisions.

E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law can be reached via phone at (214) 343-7400, with a mobile phone number also provided at +1 214-343-7400. These contact details allow individuals to reach the firm. However, the comprehensive and extremely negative client feedback must be taken into full consideration by any prospective client. The explicit warning from a former client to "DO NOT GET HIM HE WILL NOT FIGHT FOR YOU" and to contact them on social media for more details indicates a profound disillusionment with the services rendered.

In conclusion, based solely on the provided client testimonials, E. X. Martin, III - Attorney at Law in Dallas, TX, is described by former clients as providing unsatisfactory legal services. The reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the attorney's knowledge, communication, professionalism, empathy, and perceived effort in defending cases, with particularly severe accusations about memory issues and a tendency to push for guilty pleas without adequate advocacy or beneficial outcomes. Potential clients seeking legal representation for critical matters should be aware of these serious allegations when considering this firm.

Did the lawyer provide satisfactory legal services? NO! Was the lawyer knowledgeable about the law? somewhat? Did the lawyer resolve your issue? HELL NO! Did the lawyer keep you informed and up to date? NOPE! Was the lawyer courteous and professional? HE's FAKE and puts on a front Was the lawyer caring and empathetic? I would have to say no So let me start off saying I was recommended this lawyer through my parents friends. Long story short, I was in a car accident with a motorcyclist. A year later after the accident I was arrested for criminally negligant homicide. After going to court month after month, one random month he said "Today is the day." Like I did not expect that day to be my sentencing. So not only that, as I cried and weeped in front of an entire court room including his own family members. I did not have one single person from my family even there to support me because we didn't know that this was the day for sentencing. I expected it to be another continuous but I was wrong. I was so over the whole ordeal that I signed that he said the best he could do for me was get probation but I had to sign guilty which would strip all of my rights away from. Let me remind you this is my first felony EVER to be charged with. E.X MART did not fight for me one bit. I went through a very dark time of my life, and was dealing with survivors guilt, depression, insomnia, anxiety, anger, and more. I turned to self medicating and ended up violating probation unfortunately. So I eventually had to get another lawyer and so I did. The new lawyer I got looked into my case, and said what the hell!? Why was I even charged in the first place? During this time while on probation, I find out on my own the motorcyclist that died 8 days later in the hospital was a 3 time DWI suspect. Not once did EX tell me that or anything. And on top of that that night the motorcyclist even said he was coming from the bars and that should have been in the police report. Supposedly they didn't test his alcohol levels when they took him to the hospital, they said they just began working on him instantly which is hard for me to believe. So now here I am today still dealing with the horrors from that night and the aftermath that still continues to this day. So I would like to give my honest opinion about this lawyer. DO NOT GET HIM HE WILL NOT FIGHT FOR YOU. He will pleed you out and do as little work as possible and not even get a good deal. If you want to know more by all means anyone can contact me on social media. P.S. E.X. MARTIN, go **** off!
