Run from her! I retained her in my divorce and she never filed anything with the courts until the last hour before the deadline for it to be a completely uncontested divorce. As a SAHM I would have lost my whole world. I hired another attorney who had the paperwork filed within 2 hours, what she didn’t do in 6 weeks. Which wasted so much time, she is keeping my retainer for literally no work done and leaving me emotionally distraught. I filed a complaint with the Tx Bar Association. Run!!
The Easley Law Group, located at 2329 Coit Rd, Plano, TX 75075, USA, is a law firm primarily focusing on family law matters in the Plano area. Operating within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, the firm offers legal assistance for individuals navigating personal and often complex legal challenges. Clients can reach the Easley Law Group by phone at (972) 758-9999 or through the mobile number +1 972-758-9999.
Based on the context of the provided reviews, the Easley Law Group appears to specialize in family law. This would typically encompass a range of services designed to address various issues that arise within family relationships, particularly during times of transition or conflict. Common services offered by family law firms, and implied by the client reviews, include:
Divorce: Assisting clients through the process of dissolving a marriage, including negotiations for property division, spousal support, and related matters.
Child Custody: Representing clients in disputes or agreements concerning the care, control, and visitation rights for children.
Child Support: Handling legal aspects related to the financial support of children following separation or divorce.
General Family Law Litigation: Providing legal representation in court for various family-related disputes when amicable resolutions are not possible.
The firm's focus on family law suggests a commitment to guiding individuals through sensitive and often emotionally charged legal processes.
The information provided through client reviews paints a critical picture of the client experience at Easley Law Group. While there are no details about the physical office environment, the reviews offer significant insights into the firm's operational practices and the impact on clients.
Initially, one client noted that Ms. Sharon Easley "seemed to be promising and kind, knew her stuff very well and expressed confidence to the point that one would feel she’s reliable." This suggests an initial environment that instills confidence and a sense of competence. However, this positive perception appears to have deteriorated significantly for these clients as their cases progressed.
Both reviews highlight severe issues with communication and case management. One client stated that the attorney "never filed anything with the courts until the last hour before the deadline," leading to significant delays and emotional distress. This suggests an environment where critical deadlines might be narrowly missed, causing undue stress and potential harm to the client's case. The client also claimed that the retainer was kept despite "literally no work done," leading to a complaint filed with the Texas Bar Association.
The second, more detailed review further corroborates concerns about the firm's conduct. This client described "weeks of inactivity, occasional verbal abuse/ condescending messages and legal malpractice." The client reported extreme stress, requiring psychiatric care, and a significant loss of custody for their children, attributing this directly to the attorney's alleged failure to use crucial evidence and adhere to professional conduct rules. This paints a picture of a highly distressing and unsupportive client environment where professionalism and client well-being were severely compromised.
Overall, the provided client feedback indicates a challenging and potentially detrimental experience for individuals seeking legal services from the Easley Law Group, particularly concerning responsiveness, diligence, and client interaction.
Based on the provided reviews, some features and aspects of the Easley Law Group's approach can be inferred, alongside significant concerns:
Initial Impression of Competence: In the early stages of engagement, Ms. Sharon Easley is described as appearing "promising and kind," "knew her stuff very well," and exuding "confidence." This suggests that the firm, at least initially, projects an image of capability and reliability.
Focus on Family Law: The nature of the cases described (divorce, child custody) confirms the firm's specialization in family law. This focus typically means a deeper understanding of the specific statutes, procedures, and emotional dynamics inherent in these types of cases.
Alleged Lack of Diligence: A critical feature highlighted by client feedback is an alleged lack of timely action and diligence in handling cases. The claim that paperwork was not filed until the "last hour before the deadline" and "weeks of inactivity" are serious concerns regarding the firm's operational efficiency and commitment to client timelines.
Allegations of Misconduct: One review makes direct allegations of "legal malpractice," "verbal abuse/ condescending messages," and a failure to "abide by all of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct." These are severe claims that, if accurate, represent significant deviations from expected professional standards for legal practitioners.
Impact on Client Well-being: The profound emotional and practical distress reported by clients, including the need for psychiatric care and the loss of child custody, indicates that the firm's approach, at least in these instances, had extremely negative consequences on client lives.
Issues with Retainer Management: The claim of retaining fees for "no work done" points to potential concerns regarding billing practices and accountability for services rendered.
It is important to note that these are based on specific client reviews and represent their subjective experiences. However, the consistency of the negative feedback from multiple clients regarding similar issues provides a critical perspective on the firm's operational features and approach.
The Easley Law Group's primary promotional information would typically include their focus on family law services. As a firm within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, they would aim to attract local clients seeking assistance with divorce, child custody, and related matters. Any positive promotional messaging would usually highlight their expertise, commitment to clients, and ability to achieve favorable outcomes.
However, the provided client testimonials serve as direct, and in this case, highly critical, promotional information that prospective clients would encounter. These reviews present a stark contrast to typical positive promotional material:
"Run from her!": This emphatic warning from a former client immediately signals a highly negative experience, advising others to avoid the firm due to perceived inaction and emotional distress caused.
Lack of Diligence and Wasted Time: The criticism regarding failure to file paperwork promptly and "wasted so much time" directly challenges the firm's efficiency and reliability, which are crucial aspects clients seek in legal representation.
Allegations of Unprofessional Conduct and Malpractice: The detailed review outlining "verbal abuse/ condescending messages and legal malpractice" significantly damages the firm's professional image and raises serious ethical concerns. The mention of losing a case in an "excruciating manner" due to alleged failure to use crucial evidence directly impacts the perception of competence and advocacy.
Emotional and Psychological Harm: The client reporting the need for psychiatric care due to stress and invalidation, and the severe outcome of losing primary child care, paints a picture of a deeply damaging client relationship. This type of feedback is highly impactful for prospective clients considering a firm, particularly in sensitive family law matters.
Texas Bar Association Complaint: The explicit mention of filing a complaint with the Texas Bar Association indicates formal grievances about the firm's conduct, which is a serious red flag for potential clients.
These unsolicited testimonials provide an objective, albeit highly negative, perspective on the client experience at Easley Law Group. For local users in Plano, TX, searching for "Lawyers Near Me" for family law services, these reviews highlight critical areas of concern regarding client communication, case management, and professional conduct, which prospective clients would need to consider carefully when evaluating their legal options.

Mar 05, 2024 · B SimpsonI’ve been with Ms. Sharon Easley for a year now. In the beginning months she seemed to be promising and kind, knew her stuff very well and expressed confidence to the point that one would feel she’s reliable. However upon my case becoming more complicated, she had completely lost face and professionalism. I was a bit shocked, but tried using respect and empathy after she had lost her paralegal and took my Family Law case pro bono; However after weeks of inactivity, occasional verbal abuse/ condescending messages and legal malpractice, I have lost almost all patience and am writing this review. I now have to see a psychiatrist due to the extreme stress and continuous invalidation I experienced with Ms. Sharon Easley. It has been difficult enough being involved in this case spontaneously by a narcissistic ex, but my children have also been taken from my primary care after TEN YEARS. She had lost my case in an excruciating manner. She had not read or used the most crucial documents/ evidence/ witness lists I personally gathered every step of the way, and she did not abide by all of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. I understand that being a lawyer is a tough job, but I cannot understand treating clients and strangers the way that she has. Ms. Sharon Easley has failed my family in a very painful way, and I would not recommend she continue law while she is incapable of following the American Bar Association ethical and professional responsibilities.
Sep 05, 2023 · Calla KI am a long time family law attorney and used to have cases against Sharon and she was a very worthy opponent. Now that she is mediating, I brought a child custody case to her to mediate and she did an excellent job mediating the case that day. Her experience, knowledge of Collin County judges, and common sense are valuable tools which she uses to great affect. If you need a good mediator, I recommend you strongly consider Sharon.

Jun 10, 2021 · Jon BoydAttorney Sharon Easley is unprofessional and doesn’t care about the Father’s rights. The lady not only shouted at me and cussed me out but she also hung up on me and would not reconnect me to the call. She said she knew what was best for me kids. Put me on child support and gave custody to my ex. That was in February of 2018. In November of 2018, my girls were living with me. Child support is still in effect. Child support has ruined my life and got to the point where I couldn’t afford to pay it. Now my credit is bad, I can’t get my car registered. The girls and I were in two car accidents in one week. Got my insurance to pay for the damage to my car and the child support took that money. I have been given citations for not having my car registered. I child support takes my tax return. No stimulus check. It’s hard to get a job because of child support. No one cares for the kids when the father has custody. I’m not complaining because it was hard for me. My complaint is it was hard for my kids. Attorney Sharon Easley, you were wrong and I was right. My kids need to be with me. The quality of life for my daughters could have been a lot better. Men fight this lady as hard as you can or she will destroy her life. Recap I’m on child support, full-time custody of my daughters, killing my credit, can’t get a job, can’t get my car fixed, and don’t get taxes or any money from the government. Thank you TX and thank you, Sharon Easley!

Jan 20, 2023 · Carl MathisThe mediation went well and smoothly but it's been months since my ex and I signed our petitions and our divorce has yet to be granted by the courts. I understand this might be an issue of the courts themselves but the lack of communication from Sharon has been a bit upsetting. It has been over a week since I received any sort of update which was essentially "we'll get back to you". Not the type of service I expect for the amount of money this already uncomfortable situation has cost.
