I could see that Chad, before being a lawyer, is a human being who cares about the well-being of his clients. This characteristic of his was essential for me to feel comfortable. He was always very attentive, kind and patient, since I don’t speak fluent English. I’m very grateful and highly recommend his services!
For local users in Branford, Connecticut, seeking legal assistance and browsing the ‘Lawyers Near Me’ category, Edgar Law, located at 175 Montowese St, Branford, CT 06405, USA, presents a local option for legal services. The firm is represented by an attorney named Chad, as mentioned in one of the client reviews. While the provided information offers contrasting perspectives on the client experience, it is important for prospective clients to consider both aspects when evaluating whether Edgar Law aligns with their legal needs.
Regarding the environment and approach at Edgar Law, one client review offers a positive perspective, highlighting that the attorney, Chad, appeared to prioritize the well-being of his clients and demonstrated human empathy. This client specifically noted feeling comfortable due to this characteristic and appreciated Chad’s attentiveness, kindness, and patience, especially when navigating communication barriers related to language fluency. This suggests that for some clients, Edgar Law provides a supportive and understanding environment where individual needs are taken into consideration.
However, another client review presents a significantly different experience. This review describes an interaction where the attorney allegedly made assumptions about the client’s financial status without proper inquiry, leading to a negative perception of condescension and a feeling of being dismissed based on a presumed inability to afford services. The client reported being told they were “priced out” of the services and suggested to file in small claims court, with a subsequent disagreement arising over whether providing the name of the specific court constituted legal advice requiring a substantial fee. This account paints a picture of a potentially negative initial interaction for some individuals, marked by assumptions and perceived prioritization of wealth.
The services offered by Edgar Law are not explicitly detailed in the provided information. However, based on the context of the negative review, it can be inferred that the firm handles cases that might otherwise be suitable for small claims court, although the specific area of law leading to that suggestion is not mentioned. The positive review, focusing on the attorney’s caring nature and support, does not specify the type of legal matter handled. Local users seeking a ‘Lawyer Near Me’ will need to contact Edgar Law directly to inquire about their specific areas of practice, which could include but are not limited to civil litigation, small claims assistance, or other legal matters.
In terms of features, one potential feature highlighted by a positive review is the attorney’s empathetic and patient approach, particularly beneficial for clients who may face communication challenges. This suggests a willingness to accommodate individual needs and ensure clear understanding, which can be crucial in the attorney-client relationship. However, a contrasting feature, as described in the negative review, is a perceived tendency to make assumptions about clients’ financial capabilities and a potentially transactional approach that may not prioritize individual circumstances.
The contrasting client experiences represent a critical aspect for prospective local users to consider. The positive review suggests a client-focused and caring approach, while the negative review raises concerns about assumptions, communication, and perceived condescension. It is important to acknowledge both perspectives as reported by real customers to gain a balanced understanding of potential interactions with Edgar Law.
For local users in Branford, CT, searching for ‘Lawyers Near Me,’ Edgar Law offers a local legal presence. However, the divergent client reviews suggest the importance of conducting thorough due diligence before engaging their services. Potential clients may wish to contact the firm directly to discuss their specific legal needs, inquire about the attorney’s approach to client communication and fee structures, and perhaps seek clarification on the issues raised in the negative review. It may also be beneficial to inquire about the attorney’s areas of specialization to ensure they align with the client’s legal requirements.
The provided information does not include any promotional offers. Therefore, local users should inquire directly about consultation fees and the overall cost of legal services for their specific situation. Understanding the financial aspects and the firm’s billing practices is a crucial step in choosing legal representation.
In conclusion, Edgar Law in Branford, Connecticut, presents a local option for legal services. While one client review praises the attorney’s caring and patient demeanor, another raises significant concerns about assumptions regarding financial status and communication style. Local users within the ‘Lawyers Near Me’ category should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and conduct their own thorough inquiry to determine if Edgar Law meets their individual legal needs and expectations regarding client interaction and service. Oct 18, 2024 · Caroline LopesThis guy is the perfect example of why everyone hates lawyers. Without even asking me any questions, he just assumed I was "middle class" and told me that I was priced out of his services, not knowing that I actually do have the funds to cover his fees and would have paid them to help resolve my situation. He repeatedly said that I couldn't afford him. Then he told me that I should file in small claims court. When I asked him which court that is, that was apparently legal advice, but telling me to file in small claims wasn't, and of course, wanted $1500 to tell me which court to file in. News flash buddy, if telling me to file in small claims wasn't legal advice, neither is telling me which court house that is. I would honestly just go somewhere else. He was very condescending and if he thinks you're not wealthy, than you're beneath him.
Nov 01, 2024 · Emily CChad Edgar is a great listener and a voice of reason in circumstances that can get pretty emotional--I know: he helped me avoid stepping into disasters of my own design. Attorney Edgar strikes me as a champion of justice and truth, without being arrogant or dismissive or naive. He is one of the more interesting minds I've encountered in my life, and I'm grateful for his wisdom. Don't waste time with lawyers who are not going to be honest and straight-forward--which means prepare yourself for someone with integrity. In German, Chad would be known by the salutary term "Mench" -- which is exactly what he is. To boot, Chad is super bright and knows The Law --always a plus!
