Before I ever started looking for a lawyer to take my federal case I did a lot of research and talking to people to find out who would be a good one. Reading the reviews they were very mixed but I could tell all in all he was very successful in winning cases. Fred is a lawyer that does all kinds of law and is a very busy man and the fact that he took my case shows that he has confidence that he can win it. For what I understand he doesn't take a case if he isn't confident that he could win it. My experience with him has been going on for about 2 years and yes I don't get phone calls or talk to him too much because he has what he needs. When he does call me to get something for him or to help him out with something I can see that he's working hard on my case. Not hearing from him just means is he still working on it as well as many many other cases. I get a call about every couple months asking me to get some records and that's good enough for me. Fred is a very good lawyer and I believe then in the end I will win. Which wouldn't be able to get done without him. So I have to have my faith and trust in this man to make his money too. So I just wanted to thank him for the hard work he is doing. What I see Fred Newell is a winner. And if you picked him for your lawyer no matter how you may feel about his dry personality he will win and isn't that really what counts.?? Patience that's what this whole process is about. He's on your side. Feel good about that... he is a fighter. I'll keep you posted if I win or not. That will show what I'm saying isn't just blowing smoke. God bless you all and hang in there. Remember patience
For individuals in Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category for legal representation, the Frederick W Newall Law Office, located at 730 N Weber St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, USA, presents a complex picture based on the available online reviews. While one client expresses faith in Frederick Newall's ability to win complex federal cases, another details a highly negative experience with a seemingly straightforward legal name change. This introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of the information available regarding this law office, allowing them to make informed decisions.
The Frederick W Newall Law Office is situated on North Weber Street in Colorado Springs. One reviewer described the office environment as a "complete disaster" with "stacks upon stacks of files piled everywhere," including dated cases from the 1990s. This suggests a potentially disorganized workspace, which might impact efficiency and client experience. The other review does not comment on the office environment.
Based on the limited client feedback, Frederick W Newall appears to handle a range of legal matters, with one reviewer specifically mentioning his involvement in a federal case and stating that he "does all kinds of law." This client's perception is that Mr. Newall is selective in the cases he takes, only doing so if he is confident of a win. The other review details an engagement for a legal name change, a relatively simple legal procedure. This suggests that the office may handle both complex litigation and more routine legal services. However, the starkly contrasting experiences indicate significant variability in client satisfaction depending on the type of case and potentially other factors.
The available reviews present a mixed bag of features and potential concerns regarding the Frederick W Newall Law Office:
Perceived Success in Complex Cases: One reviewer expressed strong belief in Frederick Newall's ability to win federal cases, based on prior research and the fact that he accepted their case. This client perceives Mr. Newall as a "winner" and a "fighter," willing to take on challenging legal battles.
Selective Case Acceptance (Perceived): The same reviewer believes that Mr. Newall is selective about the cases he takes, suggesting he only takes on matters he is confident he can win. This could be seen as a positive, indicating a focus on cases with a higher likelihood of success.
Potentially Dry Personality: One client notes Mr. Newall's "dry personality" but ultimately prioritizes winning the case over personal connection.
Issues with Communication: The client involved in the federal case mentions infrequent communication, receiving a call "about every couple months" for records. While this client accepts this as a sign of ongoing work, others might prefer more regular updates.
Negative Experience with a Simple Legal Matter: The second reviewer had a profoundly negative experience with a legal name change, describing an inefficient and disorganized process.
Disorganized Office: This reviewer described the office as a "complete disaster" with piles of old files, raising concerns about the firm's organizational capabilities.
Repetitive and Forgetful Behavior: The same reviewer noted Mr. Newall asking the same questions multiple times, including simple details he had written down, and even reversing the requested name change despite having the forms in front of him. This suggests potential issues with attention to detail and memory.
Lack of Follow-Through: After an initial consultation, the name change client heard nothing for weeks and had to initiate contact. This indicates potential issues with proactive client communication and timely progress on cases.
Billing Discrepancies and Unexpected Requirements: The name change client was informed of a deposit requirement despite legal services being covered by ARAG, with the deposit allegedly for "incidentals" that were unclear for a simple name change where court fees and other expenses were paid separately.
Inefficient Service Leading to Self-Help: Frustrated by the lack of progress over two months, the name change client ultimately completed the process themselves in the same timeframe for less cost than Mr. Newall's requested deposit.
Perception of Being "Past His Prime": Based on the negative experience, the name change client concluded that Mr. Newall "is well past his prime and is no longer a good lawyer," advising others to seek alternative counsel or handle simple matters themselves.
The provided information does not contain any details regarding promotional offers or discounts from the Frederick W Newall Law Office. Therefore, local users should base their considerations solely on the experiences shared in these reviews.
In conclusion, for individuals in Colorado Springs seeking legal representation within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, the Frederick W Newall Law Office presents a dichotomy of experiences. One client expresses confidence in Mr. Newall's ability to handle complex federal cases, citing his perceived selectivity and fighting spirit. However, another client recounts a deeply negative experience with a routine legal name change, highlighting concerns about disorganization, inefficiency, poor communication, and questionable billing practices. These contrasting reviews suggest that the quality of service and client experience may vary significantly depending on the type of case and potentially other factors. Local users should carefully weigh these perspectives. While Mr. Newall may have a reputation for handling complex litigation, the detailed account of a problematic experience with a simple legal matter raises serious concerns about his firm's overall efficiency and client care. Potential clients are advised to conduct further research and consider these points carefully before making a decision about engaging the Frederick W Newall Law Office for their legal needs.

Nov 14, 2019 · Anthony StrongFred is very friendly, but that is where the positives end. I was referred to Mr. Newall by ARAG for a legal name change. We pay for legal services benefits so I thought, why not finally change my name after all these years using a nick name. Oh boy, was that a joke. What should have been a 15 minute conversation about what I needed turned into a full hour consult, but the majority of that conversation was about his cats. Including grainy pictures from a 20 year old flip phone. He really likes to chat about his family and life. I tried to chalk it up to him being a nice old man, but it kept getting worse. His office is a complete disaster; stacks upon stacks of files piled everywhere. And these weren't current cases he was working on; many of these had dates from the 1990's. He asked me the same questions multiple times. Simple things like my name; which he had written down. Even after several times of my telling him that I wanted to change my first name from Olivia to Leea, including the forms right in front of him, he still managed to get it backward. After I was finally able to get away and get out the door, I heard nothing for weeks. I finally called to check in and his secretary advised me I needed to complete paperwork I'd already done with Fred and pay a deposit. A deposit shouldn't have been needed since ARAG was covering it fully. His secretary explained it was for incidentals. We're talking a simple name change and I had to pay for court fees, background checks, etc. myself so what incidentals could there be? After more than two months with no movement from Fred, I finally just looked up the process and did the legal name change myself. It wasn't that hard and even with all the items I had to pay for myself even with an attorney(court filing, background check, fingerprints, etc), I got it done in two months for less than he wanted for a deposit! This guy was obviously good at one time, but he is well past his prime and is no longer a good lawyer. Save your money and do it yourself or hire a real attorney.

Aug 15, 2022 · Leea McCollumWhen I first hired Mr Newall, he did a great job of winning my social security claim. So when it was revoked ten years later, I thought well who better to take the case. He had previous knowledge of my case, he did a good job the first time, and he did win my case. This time around though he has disappointed me. He has made many mistakes this go round, including being 25 minutes late for the only hearing in front of the judge that I had. I'm even considering call the bar assosiation. I wouldn't recommend him to handle your case; social security or any other kind for that matter. Just adding to my edit. A couple weeks ago I had to go in to sign some additional papers, I knew they closed at 5pm but when I got there at 4:30 the door was locked. I k knocked repeatedly but to no avail. Finally the following week, I went in again to sign the papers and the secretary told me that she leaves the office at 4:30, but that usually Fred is there till five. Unfortunately the day I had gone in nobody was there, do to be on the safe side, I'd get there before 4:30 if you want to take care of your business.
