I wish I could give 0 stars. Their staff, particularly the paralegal Renee, is unbelievable rude and condescending. I have been out of the state for over 7 weeks, and will be for yet another 5 more. There are hundreds of people who can confirm my absence from the state of Michigan. Yet I receive this rude, sassy voicemail from Renee saying "It is our understanding that after speaking to your employer that you are indeed not out of town, and therefore you are expected to appear next week. This is a court order, and if you are in fact "out of town" like you claim to be you're going to need to show us some proof otherwise we will see you here next week," among other things. First of all, I do not appreciate being called a liar. Secondly, "after speaking with your employer"...I am not sure what private investigator they have but he seems highly incompetent and underqualified at finding information on people. Seriously, you should consider finding someone else. Because A) I'm currently unemployed and have been for over 5 months" and B) I would not have an employer because if you did your homework correctly I am still a student, in school, therefore not working but taking classes instead. I honest to God have no idea who you guys spoke to who claimed to be my employer, but you have been seriously played. Thirdly, "You are, in fact, not out of town"....excuse me? How dare you call me a liar? I have since sent numerous bits of "proof" confirming my residence outside of the state for the last 2 months, and have given the contact information for several individuals who can also attest to my work out of town. Now, if you had a legitimate PI, you would have known this and would not have accused me of being a liar. It is not my job to tell you where to find me, your PI should handle that. But you're welcome. Fourth, "you are going to need to show us some proof"...aren't you the attorneys at law? isn't that supposed to be YOUR job? again, see points above. Fifth, "we will see you here next week"...no you won't. Unless you want to contact my preceptors, get an excused absence from my college program, and pay for my $700 flight back, then no, you will most certainly not be seeing me. Again, I am appalled at the rudeness and condescending tone of this paralegal, Renee, and the disconnect, lack of information, and finger pointing at me being a liar. I strongly urge your office to clean up your act and hire people who know how to treat/talk to others, and a PI that actually knows what he is doing.

The client expresses extreme dissatisfaction with the tone and perceived inaccuracies of a voicemail received, accusing the firm of being rude, condescending, and of calling them a liar. The core of the complaint revolves around a misunderstanding of the client's employment and student status, leading to demands for proof of absence from the state despite the client being out of town for an extended period for academic reasons. The client criticizes the firm's investigative work ("private investigator"), their communication style, and their expectation for the client to provide proof that they believe should be the responsibility of the legal team. This review strongly urges the firm to improve staff conduct and investigative capabilities. This feedback highlights a potential disconnect in client communication, investigative accuracy, and overall client experience in some instances, which could impact a user's perception when searching for "Lawyers Near Me."
In summary, Garan Lucow Miller PC presents itself as a well-established and diverse law firm with a strong regional presence and a comprehensive list of legal services. While they promote a client-focused approach and have received industry accolades, individual client experiences, as demonstrated by the provided review, can vary and may highlight areas for internal process improvement in client communication and information verification.
