For local users utilizing the "Lawyers Near Me" platform to find criminal legal representation in Staten Island, it is crucial to consider all available information when making a decision. This introduction addresses Gary R DeFilippo PC Staten Island Criminal Lawyers, located at 1682 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314, USA. While this listing appears within a platform designed to connect users with legal services, it is essential to acknowledge the significant negative feedback provided by individuals who have interacted with this attorney.
Information regarding the physical environment of the office is not detailed in the provided reviews. Therefore, an objective description of the office setting or client reception area cannot be offered based on the available data. Local users seeking information about the office environment would need to independently verify this aspect, should they choose to explore this legal service further, despite the serious concerns raised in the reviews.
The title "Staten Island Criminal Lawyers" suggests that the primary service offered by Gary R DeFilippo PC is criminal defense. This typically involves representing individuals accused of crimes, guiding them through the legal process, and advocating on their behalf in court. However, the overwhelmingly negative nature of the provided reviews raises significant questions about the quality and reliability of these services. One review explicitly labels Mr. DeFilippo as a "horrible attorney" and states that he was disbarred and convicted of a felony, serving time in prison. This information, if accurate and verifiable through public records (as suggested by the reviewer who advises checking Google and AVVO), would be a critical factor for any potential client to consider. The other review details an unresolved financial dispute and expresses a lack of confidence in recommending his services.
Given the serious allegations and negative experiences described in the customer reviews, it is challenging to identify positive features of this legal practice based solely on this information. The reviews highlight significant concerns, including allegations of professional misconduct leading to disbarment and a felony conviction, as well as unresolved financial accountability issues with a former client. These points directly contradict the features one would typically seek in a competent and trustworthy legal representative, such as ethical conduct, professional competence, and reliable client communication.
In light of the severely negative feedback, including the explicit warning to "avoid him at all cost" and not to "waste your time and money by hiring him," there is no basis for presenting any positive promotional information for Gary R DeFilippo PC. Instead, the available information strongly suggests caution and encourages local users to heed the advice of previous reviewers who recommend researching and finding a competent attorney elsewhere in Staten Island. The call to "Do your research and find a competent attorney in Staten Island" serves as an implicit counter-promotion, urging users to seek alternative legal counsel.
For local users on the "Lawyers Near Me" platform who come across this listing, it is strongly recommended to carefully consider the provided customer feedback. The allegations of disbarment, felony conviction, and unresolved financial disputes are serious matters that should not be ignored when choosing legal representation, especially in the sensitive area of criminal law. Verifying the information regarding disbarment and felony conviction through independent sources, such as the New York State Bar Association and court records, would be a prudent step.
In conclusion, while Gary R DeFilippo PC Staten Island Criminal Lawyers appears as a listing within the "Lawyers Near Me" platform, the available customer reviews paint a concerning picture. The serious allegations of professional misconduct and unresolved client issues should give any potential local user significant pause. Based on this information, it is not possible to recommend this legal service. Instead, users are advised to exercise extreme caution, conduct thorough independent research, and consider the strong recommendations to seek alternative legal counsel from competent and reputable attorneys in Staten Island.

Mar 04, 2025 · James MeyerI'm waiting for accountability for $1,500 that he charged my family. So far no answer or no response from him. I may have to file a complaint with the Attorney Grievance Commitee to get this matter resolved. Hopefully he will do the right thing. I will be updating this review once the matter is settled. At this moment I cannot recommend the use of his services.
