The best lawyer My Personal Experience Working with Four Divorce Lawyers After two years of navigating my divorce, I’ve learned a lot about what makes a lawyer the “right fit.” I hope my experience helps others starting this process. In the beginning, I didn’t know where to look beyond online reviews. One key lesson: know which county your case will be filed in—it’s usually where you’ve lived for at least six months. This affects who you can hire and how much it may cost. Lawyer 1: John Conniff John was my first attorney. I didn’t work with him long, but I found the costs high—mainly because he had to travel nearly 30 miles to attend court, and I was billed for that time. In hindsight, hiring someone familiar with the local court would’ve saved me a lot. Rating: (2 stars) Lawyer 2: Barbara Morton Barbara’s firm helped move my case forward, which I appreciated. My situation included international and immigration elements that I felt weren’t fully understood, but the staff was generally responsive and listened when I needed them to. That helped ease some of the anxiety. Rating: (3 stars) Lawyer 3: Jessica Naples (Sterling Hughes) After two previous attorneys, I was cautious and spoke with Jessica a couple of times before hiring her. She seemed understanding and confident. Unfortunately, once the flat-fee representation began, my experience changed. Initially, the structure seemed convenient compared to hourly billing. But in the first few months, there was little momentum, and I struggled to get timely updates. Communication dropped off, and the tone felt different from our earlier conversations. I no longer felt heard or supported, and at times, it seemed the goal was to close the case quickly, even at my expense. I felt alone and overwhelmed—my anxiety reached its peak during this time. This was the most difficult part of my entire legal journey. Personally, I wouldn’t work with Jessica or this firm again. Rating: (0 to 1 star) Lawyer 4: Daniel Giannola I spent more time researching before connecting with Daniel. After speaking with her a few times, I hired her firm—and it was the best decision I made in the entire case. Daniel and her team were supportive, clear, and strong in their strategy. For the first time, I felt someone was truly advocating for me. She was sharp, stood her ground during negotiations, and didn’t require constant reminders or explanations. Her office staff was courteous and responsive, and the billing was transparent and accurate—a huge relief after earlier experiences. Thanks to Daniel and her team, my divorce finalized quickly with a fair outcome. Rating: (5 stars) (Also 5 stars for billing and support staff.) Final Thoughts More than the case itself, having the right attorney made all the difference in managing the stress and emotions that came with it. I hope this helps someone else make more informed choices from the start.

May 23, 2025 · Wham C PDan and Allison are amazing attorneys. I truly appreciate all they have done for my family and child during my family court case. They are extremely knowledgeable and even got a judge to overturn their incorrect ruling by siting case law. Thank you so much for helping our family.
May 06, 2025 · Sara LynchDan and Danielle are and continue to be absolutely amazing attorneys. I’m so thankful to have found them and I’m forever grateful for all they’ve done and continue to do. They are the best duo lawyer team out there!
Nov 14, 2024 · Keenan ThomasSticking to the facts. I appreciate all of the work that their team has done, but I don't believe that they fought hard enough for me in my case and I feel I took a loss and they failed multiple times to be prepared for court. They fall very short in preparation and diligence. I hired this legal team based on good google reviews, which now I'm thinking are mostly family and friends that left those. We had the final court date scheduled for June 15th 2024 and I took time off of work to attend this court date. Upon arrival we were told by the judge that we were unprepared and had to schedule another court date, which in turn Giannola Legal charged me for the fees accrued from this. Before this court date I asked their team if there’s anything else needed on my end to prepare for this final court date not only once but it’s something that I ask every time I speak and before I get off the phone with their team. “If there’s anything else you need from me please let me know” and/or “Is there anything else I need to do on my end for the final court date?”. I was told by their team. “Nope, you’re all good, just show up”. The purpose of hiring an attorney is to do this work and ensure that all the documents are in order for my case and court proceedings. Full disclosure, yes they gave me a heads up about the things that I need to complete early on, but that's their job, that's what I'm paying them for, it's their job to make sure we have everything we need especially before the final court date. I'm not an attorney, I do not know the rules, I believed I hired a team that would give me peace of mind that they'll make sure everything is taken care of. Working full time, mother of four, and in the middle of relocating the kids and I. They very well knew that I have A LOT on my plate. Again, that's what I hired them for. To help me. I do not agree to be held accountable and pay for an oversight that their office made and in turn had to extend this case unnecessarily. Hiring their team is supposed to give me and other clients like me peace of mind that they are doing their due diligence and ensuring that we are properly prepared for each court appearance. Their team failed to prepare and now they're asking an unreasonable ask to have me pay for this.
Jun 28, 2024 · Dayanara HurnDanielle and Dan have been phenomenal. They have helped me work out parentage time as well as receiving the appropriate amount for child support. Danielle was always so quick to respond to any call or email. Dan was able to represent me in court with full knowledge of the case. I also worked with them for a closing on a house. It was quick and smooth. I HIGHLY recommend Giannola Legal!
