If I could give Negative Stars, I would. Marc Gursky is the epitome of a sleazy lawyer - that works for Unions no less. He was (is) on my charge case (via local 328 against RISE dispensary in Warwick), and did the paperwork & filing for said charge, however when I noticed there could be numerous conflicts of interest, he quickly said he would be happy to withdraw my charge so that I could file one myself. He then also referred me to ask any/all further legal questions to the Union Rep, Miguel Santos, who already proved himself to be a legal liability by misrepresenting Mr. Gursky's position at the start of the issue, as well as not being an attorney. Now, a month + later, I have filed my own charge with the NLRB, and Mr. Gursky & Union have NOT dropped my charge. Instead, they are continuing on using my charge as a jumping off point for them, while calling me a "liability" to the union and ignoring all communications from me. Furthermore, I filed the formal complaint with the RI Judiciary Disciplinary Council, and GET THIS: not only can they not reprimand him since he says he's not MY lawyer (but the unions, and yet he's still using MY charge as the basis of his union issue, essentially handling MY case), AND he does lectures for the RI Bar Association- Imagine That; Practically on the payroll for the entity that SHOULD be keeping the judiciary in check, and yet...... If you're looking for an attorney that does the minimum, will mislead you at every turn, NOT do due-diligence on collecting information from imperative witnesses, AND will refer you to non-attorneys for unauthorized practice of law, Marc Gursky's your guy! Plus, the added bonus of having a state rep as a partner, which I'm sure makes him think he's bulletproof. Would only wish his "litigational prowess" on my worst enemies!!

Shanley, also contribute to the firm's overall legal strength and focus on labor and employment issues.

Their website clearly outlines their practice areas and their dedication to the "larger institutional goals of the labor movement." The firm explicitly states they do not accept cases via email for initial contact.

However, an objective introduction must also address the varied customer reviews. The reviews provided offer contrasting perspectives on the firm's service, particularly concerning Marc Gursky. One review offers a strong negative assessment, citing potential conflicts of interest, alleged misleading behavior, and a perceived lack of diligence in a case involving a union and a dispensary. This reviewer claims that their charge was not dropped as promised, and that they were ignored and labeled a "liability" by the union while the firm continued to use their charge. The reviewer also expresses concern about Marc Gursky's relationship with the RI Judiciary Disciplinary Council due to his lecturing for the RI Bar Association, suggesting a perceived conflict in accountability. This review paints a picture of a lawyer who does the "minimum" and misleads clients, referring them to non-attorneys for legal advice. This is a significant point of concern raised by one client.

Conversely, another review provides a positive endorsement, stating, "Very helpful and informative. For work related law this is who you want on your side!" This positive feedback suggests that for some clients, the firm has delivered effective and supportive legal assistance in work-related matters. Online testimonials for the firm's website (rilaborlaw.com) also generally speak to the firm's effectiveness, empathy, professionalism, and dedication to their clients' rights and compensation, particularly in workers' compensation cases.
