First and foremost, I agree with everyone who wrote a 1 star review about this law firm. I got a letter saying was being sued and they were going to be the main debt collectors. I called immediately so I can solve the issue or at least have a payment arrangement set up since I don’t have the full amount, unfortunately. They do record all conversations so speak the truth whether you can or can’t pay to the rep. When I got on the call with a rep, the first thing she kept asking if I was going to pay the debt in full and I continuously told her I’m unable to. She wanted me to start with a high initial payment arrangement amount and I told her I still can’t pay that amount. She even asked why and I explained but they don’t have any sympathy or empathy towards your personal life. Their goal is to get their client to pay the full fund or even more pay. I told her directly that I am unable to pay the amount she is listing and she did ask what I was able to do. We finally agreed on a month to month basis payment with a doable initial payment for the first month. I get that it is our problem that we have a debt at first but it’s not our fault when issues like Covid happens and causes people to lose their job. The economy then rises after and looking for a decent paying job isn’t so easy in this society. Be careful of what you say on the recorded line, stand firm about what you can and can’t do for your payments for your debts. Do not settle to pay for full amount unless you are financially stable. Keep being direct, say no to high payments arranges and settle on what you want. You can push to ask her a manager or even a supervisor of the law firm, at this point if they don’t get where you’re able to work with them.
When facing debt collection efforts and searching for "Lawyers Near Me" in San Jose, California, it's crucial to understand the practices and reputation of the involved legal firms. Hunt & Henriques, located at 7017 Realm Dr, San Jose, CA 95119, operates as a law firm involved in debt collection. Their phone number is (408) 362-2270. It's important for local users to be aware of the information available regarding their interactions with this firm.
Based on the limited online reviews, the environment and interactions experienced by individuals contacting Hunt & Henriques appear to be focused on debt recovery on behalf of their clients. One reviewer described receiving a letter indicating that Hunt & Henriques would be the main debt collectors for a lawsuit against them. Subsequent interactions, as detailed in the review, involved phone conversations with a representative of the firm. These calls were reportedly recorded, emphasizing the importance of truthful communication regarding one's ability to pay.
The services provided by Hunt & Henriques, as indicated by the reviews, primarily revolve around the collection of outstanding debts. This involves contacting individuals who allegedly owe money, attempting to establish payment arrangements, and potentially pursuing legal action to recover the funds. The firm acts on behalf of creditors seeking to resolve outstanding balances.
Several features of Hunt & Henriques' approach are highlighted in the available feedback. One notable aspect is the reported emphasis on full debt repayment. According to one reviewer, the initial focus of the representative was on whether the debt could be paid in full. When the individual stated their inability to do so, the representative reportedly pushed for a high initial payment arrangement. The reviewer also noted a perceived lack of sympathy or empathy towards their personal financial circumstances, particularly those arising from economic challenges like job loss during the Covid-19 pandemic. The primary goal appeared to be securing payment for their client.
The practice of recording all conversations is explicitly mentioned, which underscores the need for individuals to be precise and truthful in their communication with the firm's representatives. The reviewer advised others to stand firm on what they can and cannot afford in terms of payment arrangements and to avoid agreeing to full payment unless financially stable. They also suggested pushing to speak with a manager or supervisor if an initial representative is not understanding or cooperative.
A concerning aspect raised in one review involves allegations of aggressive debt collection tactics. The reviewer claimed that representatives were sent to their mother's house with threats of legal action, even after the reviewer had lost their job and had no income. This raises questions about the firm's approach to individuals facing financial hardship. The same reviewer also described being asked to pay a substantial monthly amount on an old account, with the justification of faster payoff, which the reviewer found unreasonable and indicative of a lack of understanding or care for the debtor's financial situation.
Currently, there is no explicit promotional information available for Hunt & Henriques in the provided reviews. The feedback primarily focuses on the experiences of individuals contacted by the firm regarding debt collection. Therefore, it is challenging to outline any promotional features based solely on this information.
For local users in San Jose who find themselves contacted by Hunt & Henriques regarding debt collection, the available review suggests a need for caution and assertive communication. It appears that the firm's primary focus is on recovering the full debt or establishing payment arrangements that may not always align with the debtor's financial capabilities. Individuals are advised to be clear about their financial situation, stand firm on affordable payment plans, and consider escalating communication to a supervisor if necessary. The alleged instances of aggressive tactics, such as visiting family members with threats of legal action, are serious concerns that individuals should be aware of.
In conclusion, based on the limited information available, Hunt & Henriques operates as a law firm engaged in debt collection in San Jose. Interactions may involve recorded phone conversations with a focus on full debt repayment or high initial payments. One reviewer expressed concerns about a lack of empathy and aggressive collection tactics. Local users searching for "Lawyers Near Me" who are dealing with debt collection from Hunt & Henriques should approach communication carefully, be firm about their financial limitations, and be aware of their rights as debtors. It may be beneficial to seek advice from consumer protection agencies or legal aid services to understand their rights and options when facing debt collection efforts.

Oct 20, 2024 · Nancy DamThese people are hustlers. They sent people to my mothers house threatening to take me to court when I had lost my job. HOW to do you expect payments from someone who no longer has income?????? They had no answer for that though. SMH !! Then ask me to pay over $1000 a month for 3 months on a 4 year old account ! "Because I can pay it off faster". What kind of sense does that make ???? Why would anyone agree to that ??? The agent clearly wasn't listening nor did they care to. They just want money. The greed is infuriating. I dont understand how this is still an operating business.

They'll press you to make higher amount payments, be firm with what you can do and stick to it. They'll add on court costs. Let them ($500+). They don't take online banking, send money orders (They lost two of mine). Other lawfirms will reach out to help with "your case", you don't need it. UPDATE: I paid those bastards off good luck!
