I am extremely disappointed with my initial phone call with “attorney” Drew Elesh. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He barely allowed me to explain my situation, constantly interrupting and dismissing my concerns. His tone was very condescending, not sure who pissed in his cereal this morning but as a person who works in the legal field herself I would never talk to anyone the way he talked to me let alone hang up on a potential client mid sentence. Based on this phone call alone, I would strongly advise against contacting him for immigration assistance. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was astonishing. Additional, he advertises as bilingual with his sign indicating they speak Spanish but they don’t.

While the provided information includes critical feedback from past interactions, this overview will focus on factual details about the firm's operations to help potential clients make informed decisions when considering legal representation for their immigration needs in Illinois.

Location and Accessibility

The Immigration Law Office is conveniently located in Skokie, Illinois, making it accessible for clients throughout Cook County and the wider Chicagoland area. The office is situated at:

5225 Old Orchard Rd Suite 28, Skokie, IL 60077, USA

Being in Skokie positions the firm strategically for residents of Chicago's northern suburbs, offering a local alternative to downtown legal services. Public transportation options may also be available nearby, further enhancing accessibility. The professional setting of the office suite provides a designated space for confidential consultations, which is crucial for sensitive immigration discussions.

Services Offered

Based on its name, "Immigration Law Office," the firm primarily specializes in various aspects of U.S. immigration law. While specific detailed service offerings for the particular attorney mentioned in the reviews (Drew Elesh) are not extensively detailed, a typical immigration law office generally assists clients with a broad range of matters, which may include:

  • Family-Based Immigration: Helping U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents sponsor family members for visas and green cards, including spouses, children, parents, and siblings.
  • Employment-Based Immigration: Assisting individuals and employers with various work visas (e.g., H-1B, L-1, O-1) and employment-based green cards.
  • Naturalization and Citizenship: Guiding eligible individuals through the process of applying for U.S. citizenship.
  • Adjustment of Status: Assisting individuals who are already in the U.S. to obtain lawful permanent residency without leaving the country.
  • Consular Processing: Guiding clients through the visa application process at U.S. embassies and consulates abroad.
  • Deportation Defense / Removal Proceedings: Representing individuals facing deportation or removal from the U.S. before immigration courts.
  • Asylum and Refugee Status: Assisting individuals seeking protection in the U.S. due to persecution in their home countries.

Features / Highlights

  • Specialized Immigration Focus: The firm's name clearly indicates its specialization in immigration law, suggesting a focused expertise in this complex area.
  • Local Skokie Presence: Being located in Skokie provides a convenient local option for residents of the northern suburbs of Chicago seeking immigration legal assistance.
  • Direct Contact Information: Providing both a phone and mobile number allows for direct communication with the office, which can be crucial for urgent immigration matters.
  • (Claimed) Bilingual Services: The firm reportedly advertises bilingual services (Spanish), which, if accurately provided, would be a valuable asset for non-English speaking clients navigating the legal system. However, one review specifically challenges this claim, stating they do not speak Spanish, which is a point for potential clients to verify.

Based on specific client reviews, a notable highlight, though a negative one, is the documented instance of highly unprofessional conduct by one attorney (Drew Elesh), including rudeness, interruptions, condescension, and hanging up on a potential client. Another review alleges fraudulent activity regarding a fee and non-submission of a work authorization. These points are crucial for potential clients to be aware of and to consider when making their choice.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a professional legal service provider, the Immigration Law Office, like most law firms, does not typically advertise promotional discounts or special offers in the manner of retail businesses. Legal fees for immigration services are generally determined based on the complexity of the case, the specific type of application or defense required, and the time and resources involved.

However, it is common practice for immigration attorneys to offer an initial consultation. This consultation is an opportunity for prospective clients to discuss their immigration situation in confidence, understand the potential legal pathways, and inquire about the firm's fee structure. It is crucial to use this initial meeting to assess the attorney's communication style, verify service claims (such as bilingual capabilities), and ensure comfort with their approach. Given the negative feedback regarding a specific attorney's conduct during an initial call, potential clients should approach this step with careful consideration and clearly articulate their expectations for communication and professionalism.

This includes carefully evaluating the communication style and responsiveness during initial contact, thoroughly verifying any claims made (such as bilingual services), and ensuring complete clarity on fee structures and service agreements before engaging for legal representation. Being so rude on the phone for no reason? Like for what? You can ask nicely the question, not in a rude way.

Drew is thorough and very direct. While his style might not be for everyone, he knows the law and gets results. He’s less of a hand holder and more of a “this is what I need and I need it by this date” type of lawyer. He delivered on his promises and did the hard legal work for us. Thanks for your help, Drew. Also, his services were affordable and laid out simply for us.

I wish I could give zero stars. This lawyer is a fraud, do not use him for anything use a different lawyer. He is a racist, very unpleasant, unwilling to listen, extremely rude man. The worst human I have ever encountered. Overinflated consultation fees, wanting money for services not rendered, he always yells at you. If you hate immigrants why be an immigration lawyer. Response to your reply: your response is fabricated. You took payment and never rendered any service. You are a BIG FRAUD. I wonder how you even became a lawyer. You are just a miserable person. You need therapy to work through your anger.
