Hiring Jacob PC as our Bankruptcy Lawyer was one of the best decisions our family has made. We were struggling for 8 years in a large real estate development project, where it felt like everyone was taking advantage of us on all sides. We were feeling burnt out, frustrated, and victimized -- that is, until we met Leo Jacobs. Our RE Developer friend had introduced us to Jacob PC, and said "Leo knows his stuff and he doesn't overcharge." We hired Leo's firm and they immediately wrapped their strength and clarity around us and our case, and helped us come up with the best strategy to help our case. They were able to extract the clear threads of truth and justice out of a long-winded, complicated case. In addition, Leo has a psychology background, so he really understands people and has had EXTRA! compassion and patience towards his clients. Leo always goes beyond for his clients, for example, he would come visit us in person on weekends or evenings to offer us the latest updates and discuss strategy. Leo has been the epitome of "calm under pressure," while always communicating clearly to us and managing our expectations as we fight this legal battle together. My family is so thankful of Leo's great help and support in this most difficult time.

It has been an incredibly harrowing experience dealing with Leo Jacobs. In the present instance, he is non-responsive and refuses to return my funds, as he has already done so for plaintiffs in the same matter. The refusal to transfer the working files as requested by me and another attorney. Aside from that, he took on cases for which he never had any interest in advocating for his clients. He will send Tanya or Adam to deal with you if he does not want to deal with the case. Discredits the case, thereby deterring prospective clients from filing, despite the fact that the expert report states otherwise. Attempts to intimidate clients by attaching many employees from the office to an e-mail when they do not agree with his irrational billing methods and hours, which he is unwilling to explain. Furthermore, his inappropriate manner of communicating, such as insulting his clients and then attempting to rectify the situation by diagnosing your personality traits based on his psychology degree and offering you anytime therapy sessions because he is your “friend”. You should make sure to check behind any statements he makes. Being billed for "strategic meetings" or phone calls when he does not provide accurate information is also problematic because it hinders your ability to assess the situation and make an informed decision. In his opinion, he believes that the client is not entitled to an opinion as he is free to do as he pleases without giving explanations. Additionally, his clients were not informed of agreements he entered into with other counsel. It is inconsistent with the quality of his work and the level of care he exhibits towards his clients that he requests such a large retainer. It is my hope that he will do right by clients in the future, as I have encountered other individuals who have had a horrendous experience. Those organizations that award accolades need to carry out a thorough investigation.

Leo is an amazing corporate attorney located in the heart of NYC! His professionalism and knowledge is beyond anything! My partner and I contacted him for consultation on export and import business. Even though international business is not his cup of tea, we were amazed by his in depth knowledge of international business, ability to quickly analyse our business plan, and providing us with a detailed roadmap on how to achieve our strategic goals successfully! We are very grateful to Leo for his honesty and competence on international and domestic laws! Highly recommend!

I am deeply disappointed with Leo’s unethical behavior as an attorney. To this day, he has failed to send me a complete attorney file, only providing a few documents that should have been part of the full file. He also had the New Jersey attorneys modify their retainer agreement, shifting the responsibility for attorney fees from the group to me without any prior notification. Additionally, Leo had the NJ firm draft a mediation stipulation with the mediation set in New York, seemingly to obscure the misrepresentation from his NJ clients. How do you prosecute or draft a mediation stip without a file? He grossly misrepresented to the NJ clients that they were also representing them with a NJ firm (A.Y. Strauss), while I was being billed for work the NJ firm was doing for Leo’s other clients. Leo did not complete necessary discovery and refused to obtain a full file from previous counsel, choosing instead to accept their refusal without further action. He also lied about previous mediations and misrepresented the nature of the case as a class action when it clearly is not (Case BER-6608-20). After his termination, Leo even raised his voice at me and said, “Good luck finding another counsel; nobody will help you.” He then rudely kicked me and my guest out of his office. The most troubling aspect of this situation is that I am a woman of color, and I have yet to see him treat any client of Caucasian descent with the same level of disparagement as he has shown me, and has communicated to others. It's unfortunate because, despite his talent, Leo’s approach to my cases was simply a money grab. I strongly advise potential clients to consider these factors before engaging with Leo’s services.
