Katherine is on the board of my UWS co-op. In that capacity, she is either unethical, incompetent or a combination of the two. Katherine is the only laywer on the board and her initials appear in the metadata of a board letter I received which, among other baseless claims, alleges that I engaged in criminal activity (trespassing and harassment). In support of this purported illegal behavior, she relies on a video made by another tenant, who was violating multiple co-op-related documents by having work perfomed on a Saturday, which does not show anything I did or said that comes even remotely close to satisfying the elements of either crime/misdemeanor under NY law. (Indeed, my actions were motiviated by a desire to protect the safety of the tenants in building as I smelled fire or smoke and knocked on a neighbors’ door and investigated with the husband.) In support of my "wrongdoing," the letter also relies on a police report that was supposedly filed over five months ago. Yet, no detective or other representative from the precinct has ever contacted me. Because my integrity is very important to me and I am also a lawyer, I have followed-up several times with the precinct and was told by three officers that no contact was made because the report was deemed to lack any merit. Despite these facts, she and the board have refused twice to withdraw these serious and specious criminal allegations. Update: Katherine continues to show that she has no understanding and/or does not care about her fiduciary duties as a co-op board member. The one thing she does care about is dogs in the passenger elevator despite the fact they are expressly permitted under the co-op's House Rules! But, she would have had to have read them to know that.

Feb 05, 2025 · Lauren BlockIn my 32 years of working in the healthcare and insurance industries, I have worked with many attorneys, some great, some not so great. Katherine is one of the great ones, she knows the industry and she does not waste time! She is is ethical beyond reproach in her dealing with all parties to a matter and is fair and pragmatic. Where I have seen attorneys that will bill you for their learning curves it is not so for Katherine: she is knowledgeable and one of the best, saving me and other clients lots of money. Katherine will not lead you down the garden path telling you what you want to hear, she is truthful and honest to a fault. Katherine's lawyering gets and keeps clients because they know she will do what is right!
Mar 05, 2017 · Lewis BivonaThe service was lack luster. She Looks for the easy way out which is not always in the best interest of the client. She is also very concerned about getting paid before invoices are due. I would not recommend her.
