I contacted this firm because I was in desperate need to get a demand letter out due to my property value in general will be being compromised by a painfully bright floodlight pointing towards my property: Upon my first meeting I found them to be very attentive and professional BUT The reason why I’m leaving two stars is because of the way that I was treated by them! After the interview I was shown to the front desk after paying my 400 and something dollar consult fee and was told that I would be notified in a couple of days on how we were going to move further! In the past I’ve worked with attorneys who take the time to be a bit more warm and personable in regard to explaining the details or direction of the next steps moving forward by them at least touching base. I was left completely out of anything pertaining to this as I received a call from his paralegal Heidi saying he had called my neighbor! Where as I greatly appreciate the effort and favor I believe I should’ve been consulted as that possibly could have made things worse for us. I do realize that it was done with his best intentions at heart however, neighbor disputes can be prickly and painful and we were hoping for a demand letter to be sent to no avail. Secondly when I expressed my worry and the hope for some communication to Heidi she said “Well you haven’t retained us yet” and I replied “well no one from the office communicated with us in regards to that even being an option or the direction we were headed in! How could we retain them if we weren’t guided to do so and were told we would be hearing from them in a few days ? Even worse I have no idea what the outcome was in regards to calling my neighbor and I’m still worried about it ! I found the communication with Heidi vague, illusive , and slightly condescending in the end as nice as she appeared to be in the beginning! I was also dismissed quite a bit in the meeting with the attorney. He kept mentioning that I should go to my attorney in Dallas and when I mentioned possibly using them for a state planning he recommended I stay with my regular Estate Attorney in Dallas ! I guess they didn’t want my business right out of the gate so to speak! After the call was made to my neighbor I was the one that had to reach out to touch base with the conversation from Heidi being about a “draft letter” being emailed to me the day before…. Well naturally I assumed that meant that he had drafted a demand letter only for he to correct me and say , “no we are going to be able to take your case!” To my disappointment and confusion in regards to how she “worded things” not to mention being $450 poorer and for what? I was dismissed very “efficiently” by her and left wishing The attorney would’ve cared enough to reach out personally just once during the 2 long weeks it took for me to get an answer and I still don’t know what happened when he called my neighbor! These attorneys get busy I realize that but so many of them lose sight of how important communication from them is with a prospective client and I felt very shoved off by this office but especially by Heidi enough to take time to review! It just would’ve been nice if Brad would’ve called personally explaining what happened with the phone call what his retainer fee would’ve been if any and why he wouldn’t be able to take the case. He came highly recommended to us.

Promotional Information and Client Testimonials

The provided client reviews offer mixed perspectives on the firm's service and client interaction:

  • Positive Review (Curt Covington): A client, S.C., highly praises Curt Covington for representing them in a construction legal case. This client describes him as the "most Knowledgeable Attorney I have ever used for a construction legal case." Despite acknowledging significant legal fees, the client states the firm was "worth ten times what they charged me" due to their preparedness, professionalism, and ability to secure a "more than a fair settlement." The client emphasizes that the firm "gets results" and "walk the walk, not just talk the talk," indicating high satisfaction and a strong recommendation for anyone seeking a "professional law firm that gets results" and wants to "sleep at night without stress." This testimonial specifically highlights Curt Covington's effectiveness in construction litigation and the firm's overall professionalism and successful outcomes in such cases.
  • Concerned/Negative Review (General Firm Experience with Brad Lamberth): This review, from a client seeking a demand letter for a property dispute, expresses significant dissatisfaction primarily concerning communication and client engagement after an initial consultation. While acknowledging initial attentiveness and professionalism, the client felt "treated" poorly and "left completely out of anything pertaining to this." The core issues were:
    • Lack of Consultation: The attorney, Brad (presumably Brad Lamberth), called the client's neighbor directly without consulting the client first, which the client believed could have worsened the situation.
    • Poor Communication from Paralegal: The paralegal, Heidi, is described as vague, elusive, and condescending, particularly when stating, "Well you haven’t retained us yet," despite the client not having received clear instructions on how to retain them or the next steps.
    • Feeling Dismissed: The client felt "dismissed quite a bit in the meeting with the attorney" and noted that the attorney kept suggesting they go to their attorney in Dallas, even for potential estate planning business, implying the firm "didn’t want my business right out of the gate."
    • Unclear Outcomes and Follow-up: The client remained unaware of the outcome of the call with the neighbor and was confused by Heidi's communication about a "draft letter," which turned out not to be an offer to take the case. The client expresses regret at being "$450 poorer and for what?"
    • Desire for Personal Communication: The client wished the attorney would have personally reached out during the two weeks it took to get an answer, finding the lack of communication "very shoved off."

In conclusion, Lamberth Ratcliffe Covington PLLC appears to be a firm with strong expertise in commercial and construction law, particularly highlighted by the positive experience with Curt Covington and his ability to achieve favorable results. However, prospective clients, especially those with matters outside of the firm's core business/construction litigation focus, should carefully consider the feedback regarding communication and client engagement, which for some clients has been a source of significant frustration. For those seeking a "Lawyer Near Me" in Rockwall, TX, with complex commercial, real estate, or construction law needs, the firm's proven track record in these areas might be a strong draw, but managing expectations regarding consistent, proactive communication is advisable.

I used Curt Covington to represent me on a case where I had a Company out of Emory who built my Metal Building. This is the most Knowledgeable Attorney I have ever used for a construction legal case. Now like most people I could say I was shocked at my legal fees, BUT this man and firm was worth ten times what they charged me. They were well prepared, professional and got me a more than a fair settlement for this case. If you want results, you are calling a professional law firm that gets results. Would I use them again? Absolutely because they showed me, they walk the walk, not just talk the talk. They do many different kinds of cases, but if you're looking to sleep at night without stress you have arrived. Thank you, Curt, for all your professional support on winning this case and getting all my legal fees paid. May God continue to bless you, your family and all at this Lawyer firm. SC

I was seeking an attorney specializing in Construction Law and through research I decided to seek representation from the firm, specifically Curt Covington. I first met with Curt and another attorney, Lisa Turner and hired the firm. I worked throughout with Lisa and I could not be more pleased. She was an advocate for me, always keeping my case up to date, following up with opposing counsel and working with me to gather the best evidence for my case and a very satisfying result. I absolutely recommend them and would hire them again without hesitation.

I have had the pleasure to be represented by Curt Covington on a law suit that was both difficult and lengthy. Curt is surrounded by a team that includes an individual - Lisa Turner who is knowledgeable, professional but most of unrelenting when it comes to fighting for what is right. I could not have been surrounded by a better legal team than Lamberth, Ratcliffe, and Covington.
