Contacted Michelle and got voicemail back where she initially gave me totally different number and then says oops wrong number while still recording voicemail. But I figured everyone gets distracted at some point. So I call her back and things just continue to go downhill from there. Despite ample medical evidence as well as proof I underwent spine surgery to repair an injury and am going to physical therapy which has taken 18 months already, the response I was getting from her is she doesn't believe me. Maybe this lady should go back to being a candy stripper since she clearly has no business being a disability lawyer.

Services Offered

The Law Office of Michelle Palfenier P.C. specializes exclusively in Social Security Disability law. This focused expertise means that clients receive dedicated and in-depth knowledge specifically tailored to the complexities of applying for and appealing Social Security Disability benefits. The core services provided include:

  • Social Security Disability (SSD) Applications: Assisting individuals with the initial application process for both Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. This involves gathering medical records, documenting work history, and accurately completing all necessary forms.
  • Eligibility Assessment: Helping potential clients determine if they meet the specific criteria for Social Security Disability benefits, including having a severe mental or physical condition that is expected to last at least one year and prevents them from engaging in substantial gainful activity (SGA).
  • Disability Appeals: Representing clients at various stages of the appeals process if their initial application is denied. This includes preparing for and representing clients at reconsideration, administrative law judge (ALJ) hearings, and potentially before the Appeals Council or federal court.
  • Medical Evidence Gathering: Working to secure and organize comprehensive medical evidence from doctors, specialists, and therapists to substantiate the severity and impact of a client's disabling condition on their ability to work.
  • Case Preparation and Strategy: Developing a strong legal strategy tailored to each client's unique medical and vocational circumstances, focusing on presenting the most compelling case for disability approval.
  • Representation at Hearings: Providing skilled advocacy and support for clients during their hearing before an Administrative Law Judge, which is a critical stage in the disability appeals process.
  • Guidance on Other Legal Matters: While specializing in Social Security Disability, the firm's website also provides resources for individuals needing help with other legal issues, by directing them to relevant County Bar Associations for lawyer referrals in DuPage, Kane, and Will counties.

Promotions or Special Offers

While specific promotional discounts are not explicitly detailed in publicly available information, law firms specializing in Social Security Disability often operate on a contingency fee basis. This means that clients typically do not pay any attorney fees upfront. Instead, the attorney's fee is a percentage of any past-due benefits (back pay) that the client receives if their case is approved. This arrangement is highly beneficial for individuals who are out of work due to disability and facing financial hardship, as it removes the barrier of upfront legal costs and allows them to pursue their claim without immediate financial burden. To confirm the fee structure and inquire about an initial consultation, it is always recommended to contact the Law Office of Michelle Palfenier P.C. directly.

Called her office because obviously I needed help with a legal matter ... Michelle was very quick on mailing me out the paperwork that I needed, now if I can just get it back to her 😉 ... that’s on me, not her. I tend to procrastinate at times!
