I had a highly negative experience with attorney Paul, he was extremely unprofessional and displayed poor representation. Initially, Paul failed to keep me informed about the case, with no updates on a discovery despite multiple calls. I was later told by Paul’s assistant that the plaintiff no longer wanted to proceed, but it was never communicated to me that Paul had spoken to the opposing party. After paying half of the agreed fee, Paul suggested the case could be dismissed since the accuser no longer wanted to move forward, but later reversed this, stating the prosecutor refused to drop charges, and the accuser wanted to proceed. I was confused, questioning the credibility of the case, especially given the evidence I had proving my innocence. Instead of defending me, Paul sided with the prosecutor and pressured me to take a plea deal. As the court date approached, I felt Paul wasn’t acting in my best interest. He repeatedly brought up the prosecutor’s stance rather than focusing on the my defense. When I refused the plea deal, Paul got snappy and even hung up on me several times. On the day of court, I arrived with my evidence, only to find Paul talking to the accuser AGAIN. He then updated me on what was allegedly said but continued to push the prosecutor's plea offer. After paying the remaining fee, which was a significant financial strain, Paul’s demeanor changed, and he continued to pressure me into agreeing to the plea. This led me to believe Paul was in fact in bed with the prosecutor. In the courtroom lobby, Paul raised his voice at me while I'm explaining to him the importance of not being convicted, humiliating me. I let him know I didn't feel comfortable with him representing me anymore and asked for a refund, but Paul ignored me and laughed it off. He promised to refund based on time spent, but ultimately did not hold up his end of the deal—failing to get the charges dismissed and provide proper representation. He scammed me and humiliated me, and now I have to face the financial burden of having to find another attorney after paying Paul in full just for him to do absolutely nothing. I would NEVER recommend this thief, he is clearly stealing money and not fulfilling his responsibilities as a lawyer.

Features / Highlights

The Law Office of Paul C. Galanides, P.C. appears to have distinct features and highlights based on the provided customer reviews, though it is important to note the polarizing nature of the feedback:

  • Aggressive Courtroom Advocacy: One review explicitly states that the attorney "will argue your case" and "fought tooth and nail," indicating a strong and assertive approach in the courtroom. For clients seeking a lawyer who is not afraid to challenge opposition and advocate vigorously, this could be a key highlight. The reviewer also notes, "When it comes to trial lawyers Mr.Galanides is great."
  • Trial Experience: The fact that one case went to trial and involved a jury suggests experience in navigating the full litigation process, from evidence presentation to arguments before a judge or jury.

However, it is crucial to address the significant negative feedback provided. The negative review highlights severe concerns regarding:

  • Communication Issues: Accusations of failing to keep the client informed, no updates on discovery despite multiple calls, and conflicting information about the opposing party's intentions.
  • Client Advocacy Concerns: Claims that the attorney "sided with the prosecutor" and "pressured me to take a plea deal" despite the client's assertion of innocence and possession of exculpatory evidence. The client felt the attorney "wasn’t acting in my best interest."
  • Professional Demeanor: Allegations of snappy behavior, hanging up on the client, raising voice, humiliating the client in a public lobby, and laughing off requests for a refund.
  • Billing and Refund Issues: Claims of paying a significant fee for services that were not rendered as expected, and a promise of a refund based on time spent that was allegedly not honored. The client explicitly states, "He scammed me and humiliated me, and now I have to face the financial burden of having to find another attorney after paying Paul in full just for him to do absolutely nothing. I would NEVER recommend this thief, he is clearly stealing money and not fulfilling his responsibilities as a lawyer."

This stark contrast in reviews suggests that client experience with the firm can vary dramatically. Prospective clients should carefully consider all feedback and conduct their own due diligence, perhaps by seeking multiple consultations, before making a decision.

Paul is a great lawyer and will argue your case. Despite me being found guilty in a trial with a bias jury with everything stacked against us Paul represented me well and fought tooth and nail. I can not recommend him enough. When it comes to trial lawyers Mr.Galanides is great.

Life is fast and short, we go through the process of life so fast, not realizing everybody and everything known, and obtained is for a short time. Trials and tribulations set the tone for your future, the people you know fade, and what you had is lost, but the memories remain, black and white, however you perceive it. Every battle is designed and assigned individually, to that particular person. Fight your own battles and let others fight there’s. Angels will intervene when the odds are overwhelming. Mr Paul and Kerr is a cloud catching those who are falling. To help someone is a challenge within itself, but the outcome of success is brilliant and Divine. For all that is done never goes unrecognized, thank you’s ain’t enough, but these words are my appreciation, may god continue to oversee your hard work and success. Sincerely.. Dorian Lewis

I would like to thank Mr. Galanides and his team for their support and hard work on my case. He explained exactly what he was going to shoot for and achieved it. Myself and my family can't be more happy with the outcome. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to keep him on speed dial. Because of the positive outcome in my favor , I believe the New Kent Sheriff's office animal control office will be gunning for me and my family. My family and I feel they will definitely try to tarnish our names. We definitely don't feel safe. Thanks again sir and I have already given your name and number to several potential clients.

If I could make a complaint with the bar I would. And I probably will. Although his assistant, I can’t remember her name maybe Kara, was very nice and very responsive anytime I reached out. I really regret having Paul represent me in an appeal of a protective order. And when I reviewed him low after my trial ended, he sends me not one but two emails cursing and threatening me about changing my review or else he’ll respond I guess exposing things with case. Which didn’t bother me at all so of course I didn’t change my review. I actually followed up with a second low review in spite of his email. Then he replies to my review stating things about my court case. And this was all bc of one low review. It’s so silly. Just take the two star and move on. It’s not like you had a low overall review rating. But anyway, the reason I reviewed him so low is because 1) I reached out to him two months prior to my appeal case to represent me which he agreed, all over the phone. I came in to sign and pay for him to represent me in that appeal soon after our call. So him replying to my review as if he gave me some kind discount as a favor is ridiculous. I told him my case, he gave me the flat rate amount for the case, and never did I mention my finances or receiving a lower charge nor did I need to. I had a previous lawyer for this appeal that I was referred to, but didn’t really like bc I didn’t think he was as experienced with my case and that’s when I reached out to Paul’s office. However, less than 2 weeks before my court hearing I finally get a chance to discuss my case in person with him to prepare before the trial and he suddenly tells me that he can’t take on my case anymore bc his schedule is too busy that day and he’ll provide me a refund. It was very irritating at the time bc again I had less than two weeks before my appeal hearing and he took on my case almost two months prior. So you couldn’t tell me this weeks beforehand so I can have time to look for a new lawyer? Bc I didn’t have time to look for a new lawyer we decided to still move forward with him representing me and it was just lazy work on his part once in the actual trial. I did ask for him to subpoena a witness on my behalf, but he didn’t want to do that. Just to find out that the plaintiffs in the case brought a fake witness to the trial to testify. A witness who Paul didn’t even attempt to cross-examine to prove that they were lying. Mind you the plaintiff’s didn’t even have a lawyer. And in his response to my review, I guess to make me look bad, he mentions a video of me “attacking” the plaintiff when 1) the video was already disclosed to him by me and 2) I already told him it was me reacting to the plaintiff attacking me first then recording. None of that was a surprise to him like he’s trying to make seem. Also in court when I tried to mention things to him to maybe say to support my case, he would constantly brush me off. It was very frustrating. Like if I knew I could represent myself at the time in the appeal, I would have been better off doing that. It was complete waste having him represent me. He seems very unprofessional and also a bit unethical. I’m glad I took time to finally come back to give a full review. Please do your research when getting a lawyer to represent you. It’s definitely better to pay more for a quality lawyer with higher standards of practice.
