I reached out for advice or representation a year and a half after my divorce was signed. My ex husband kept me in litigation for over three years, and she was the first attorney to offer me compassion, listen to my needs, and suggest courses of action that would benefit me not financially benefit her. She listened to what I was dealing with, provided sound advice, explained the law, and made suggestions. I highly recommend working with her. My ex husband filed for hearings almost monthly, contesting things like my engagement ring and reducing the kids child support until it reached the state minimum. The attorneys would suggest court constantly despite me begging for compromise and resolution. My case was in Delaware county. He would bring me to court, show up unprepared, and the judge wouldn't order him to pay my court fees. Taking me to court to waste money became a habit. When I stopped going to court he went after me in other ways. I've worked with two different law firms, reached out to two others for consultations and second and third opinions, tried to get help from the PA Bar Association, who considers billing for unreplied emails is ethical, the state ethics committee, and countless other groups for help. Again, she was the first attorney to listen to what was going on and treat me with kindness and humanity. It is insane that we pay people by the hour to resolve a conflict. Where is the incentive to resolve the conflict? She was the first attorney I've met with in four years who felt like she actually wanted to resolve conflict for me.
For individuals in Rockledge, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding Philadelphia region who are navigating challenging family law issues such as divorce, child support, custody disputes, and post-divorce litigation, and who are searching for "Lawyers Near Me" to find empathetic and effective legal counsel, the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing, LLC, located at 310 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046, USA, presents a practice with notable client experiences highlighting compassion and a focus on resolution.
The reviews available for the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing, LLC offer a somewhat mixed perspective, with one client expressing profound gratitude for the compassionate and solution-oriented approach of the attorney, Maribeth Blessing, while another review details a negative experience leading to disengagement. It is crucial for potential clients to consider both perspectives when evaluating this firm.
Based on the positive feedback, the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing, LLC exhibits the following features and service qualities:
Compassionate and Empathetic Approach: A recurring theme in one client's extensive review is the compassion and empathy shown by Maribeth Blessing. This client, who had endured prolonged and contentious post-divorce litigation, specifically noted that Ms. Blessing was the first attorney to truly listen to their needs and offer solutions aimed at benefiting the client rather than solely focusing on billable hours. This suggests a client-centered approach where the attorney prioritizes understanding the emotional and practical challenges faced by individuals going through difficult family law matters.
Focus on Resolution and Compromise: The same positive review highlights Ms. Blessing's desire to find resolutions and compromises, contrasting her approach with previous attorneys who allegedly seemed to favor ongoing court battles. This indicates a potential strength in seeking amicable solutions and attempting to minimize the emotional and financial toll of protracted litigation, which is often a significant concern for individuals involved in family law disputes.
Sound Legal Advice and Clear Explanation of the Law: The client who praised Ms. Blessing also noted that she provided sound legal advice and clearly explained the relevant laws. This is essential for clients to understand their rights and options, empowering them to make informed decisions about their case. A lawyer who can communicate legal complexities in an accessible manner can significantly alleviate client anxiety and build trust.
Willingness to Address Long-Standing and Complex Issues: The fact that the positive review came from a client who reached out a year and a half after their divorce was finalized, dealing with ongoing and seemingly habitual litigation initiated by their ex-spouse, suggests that Ms. Blessing is willing to take on complex and protracted cases and offer fresh perspectives where previous legal efforts may have been less satisfactory.
Based on the negative feedback, the following points should be considered:
Concerns Regarding Billing and Retainer Practices: One reviewer mentioned being sent a substantial retainer bill and subsequently disengaging from the office, ultimately requiring the assistance of their State Senator's office to resolve the situation. This raises potential concerns about the firm's billing practices and the clarity of their retainer agreements. Potential clients should carefully discuss and understand all fees and billing procedures before engaging the firm's services.
Issues with Case Management and Client Communication (as perceived by one reviewer): The same negative review implies dissatisfaction with the handling of their case, leading them to seek intervention from external sources to disengage from the firm. While this is a single perspective, it underscores the importance of clear communication and effective case management in maintaining a positive attorney-client relationship. Potential clients may wish to inquire about the firm's communication protocols and case management strategies.
Given the contrasting reviews, it is challenging to definitively characterize the overall environment and typical client experience at the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing, LLC. However, the positive review paints a picture of an attorney who is empathetic, focused on resolution, and provides clear legal guidance. The negative review raises concerns about billing and case management from one individual's perspective.

Feb 12, 2025 · Heather BickleyInterpret my silence as you see fit. I went to my State Senator's office to get assistance to get this attorney / "Coparent coordinator"away from my case. It worked. I was able to persuade a Judge to vacate a questionable order and was able to disengage from this office and erase a 10k retainer bill sent to me by this office. As I said, my State Senator's office was a great help. It's wise to read reviews and question any shenanigans.
