Law Offices of Mark M. Childress Introduce

For individuals in Southlake, Texas, and the surrounding Tarrant County area who are searching for legal representation, particularly in matters of family law, platforms like "Lawyers Near Me" may direct them to the Law Offices of Mark M. Childress. The firm is located at 3100 W Southlake Blvd #110, Southlake, TX 76092, USA. For direct contact, the firm can be reached at (817) 497-8148 or via mobile phone at +1 817-497-8148.

The Law Offices of Mark M. Childress operates as a legal firm primarily focused on family law. Mark M. Childress, the principal attorney, has been licensed to practice in Texas since May 1, 1992, according to the State Bar of Texas, indicating a substantial career in the legal field. The firm's website or other public information, if available, would typically outline their mission and the specific legal principles that guide their practice. Generally, a firm specializing in family law handles sensitive and often emotionally charged cases, requiring a balance of legal expertise and client support.

The firm's services, based on its primary focus in family law, typically include:

  • Divorce: Assisting clients with the legal dissolution of marriage, including issues related to property division, spousal maintenance, and debt allocation.

  • Child Custody: Handling matters concerning conservatorship, possession, and access schedules for children, always aiming for outcomes that are in the child's best interest.

  • Child Support: Establishing, enforcing, and modifying child support orders.

  • Modifications: Adjusting existing court orders for child custody, visitation, or support when there has been a material and substantial change in circumstances.

  • Enforcement: Taking legal action to compel compliance with existing court orders.

The firm's environment, located in a professional suite on West Southlake Boulevard, suggests a standard office setting for a legal practice. However, the provided customer reviews offer highly contrasting and significant insights into the firm's perceived operational environment and staff conduct. One review praises Haylie Davis, an attorney associated with the firm, stating, "Great experience with Haylie Davis representing a family member. She is a fighter for the best interest of child." This positive feedback highlights an attorney's dedication to child welfare and effective representation.

Conversely, a much more detailed and severely critical review paints a troubling picture. This client, writing on behalf of their grandfather (an elderly, deaf veteran who was a client), expresses extreme dissatisfaction, stating, "This law firm is a scam I would give it negative stars if possible and one of the divorce attorneys who works here Sarah Robbins is absolutely terrible." The review specifically alleges that Sarah Robbins "became hostile," lacked empathy, failed to offer advice to her elderly client, and neglected to work or respond once paid. The client claims the firm is "all about money only" and employs "scare tactics," describing the front desk woman as a "bouncer." Concerns are raised about the firm's locked doors and a sign requiring appointments, even for "paying clients," and the alleged refusal to provide in-person appointments for a deaf veteran, offering only phone appointments. The client further states that Sarah Robbins "does not return or even read emails," citing an instance where she admitted not reading an email during a phone conference. The review concludes with a strong warning to prospective clients ("Please if you are thinking of hiring them do not. Save your self the money, regret and stress as they seem to get off on taking advantage of people") and states that a complaint will be filed with the Texas Bar Association.

These divergent reviews highlight a critical inconsistency in client experiences. While one attorney (Haylie Davis) is lauded for her advocacy, another (Sarah Robbins) and elements of the firm's operational practices are subjected to severe criticism regarding professionalism, communication, client care, and accessibility, particularly for vulnerable clients.

Features of the Law Offices of Mark M. Childress, based on the combined information, would include its specialization in family law, particularly divorce and child-related matters. The firm appears to have multiple attorneys, as indicated by the mention of Haylie Davis and Sarah Robbins. The positive feedback for Haylie Davis suggests a capability for strong advocacy, especially in cases involving children's best interests. However, the negative review extensively details concerns about communication, empathy, client treatment, and office accessibility, which are significant features that would impact a client's overall experience.

Promotional information for the Law Offices of Mark M. Childress would ideally focus on their family law expertise and the positive aspects of their service, such as the dedication of attorneys like Haylie Davis. However, the severe negative feedback concerning Sarah Robbins and the firm's operational policies presents a significant challenge to such promotions. For potential clients using "Lawyers Near Me," these reviews are critically important as they offer direct insights into the firm's actual client service experiences, which may not always align with general promotional statements. The allegations of poor communication, lack of empathy, and accessibility issues, particularly for an elderly, deaf veteran, stand in stark contrast to the expected standards of legal professionalism and client care. The mention of a complaint to the Texas Bar Association further underscores the seriousness of these claims.

In summary, the Law Offices of Mark M. Childress in Southlake, Texas, primarily focuses on family law matters. While one attorney, Haylie Davis, receives positive client feedback for her advocacy, the firm and another attorney, Sarah Robbins, are subject to highly critical reviews detailing severe concerns regarding communication, empathy, professional conduct, and office accessibility, particularly concerning an elderly, deaf veteran client. Prospective clients searching on "Lawyers Near Me" should thoroughly consider all available feedback to form a comprehensive understanding of the firm's client service and professional practices.

This law firm is a scam I would give it negative stars if possible and one of the divorce attorneys who works here Sarah Robbins is absolutely terrible. She became hostile while speaking to her and has no empathy. She does not offer any advice to her elderly clients and lets them blindly sign away their assets and in fact seems to not even care to work or respond once she has been paid. This firm is all about money only. They employ scare tactics to try to keep people from even coming to the office. The woman who guards the front desk is more like a bouncer you would encounter at a club and has to only be there to intimidate and scare people into leaving. Also, what law firm keeps their doors locked to their paying clients they even have a sign posted on the front notifying clients to leave if they don’t have an appointment photo attached for proof of this ridiculousness. They also only provide phone appointments even when dealing with a client who is a deaf veteran. It’s absolutely despicable the way my grandfather was treated by this law firm, specifically Sarah Robbins who does not return or even read emails sent to her. When on a phone conference with her I even asked her if she had read my email that I sent to her she flat out said no, what a joke. A complaint will be filed with the Texas Bar association because this scam of a law firm must be stopped. Also as I have seen on other reviews no I was not a client, I am writing this for my grandfather who was client, is in his mid 80s, is a veteran, and is someone who was taken advantage of by this firm. Please if you are thinking of hiring them do not. Save your self the money, regret and stress as they seem to get off on taking advantage of people.

Don't use Rick Mitchell, and I didn't have a great experience with Mark either. Rick was careless, and I can not tell you how many times he forwarded or responded in error for one of his other clients, with personal information and case details. Rick did not show up with a computer on the day I had mitigation, and left me with another attorney I had never talked to in my life when he drove home to get his computer. Please avoid this firm. They should not be allowed to practice law

This is an update to my previous review. After not standing by his word on how much a non contested custody mod would be, they wanted me to pay a $750 trust deposit. At that point I decided not to continue with them. I could not get a response back directly from Mark as to why he told me what he told me. They agreed to terminate our relationship because I left my previous review. Then they proceed to charge me another $1,250 to close my case PLUS the $750 trust fee. It seems as they think their clients are stupid. I should not owe that trust fee. I recommend anyone and everyone who has had a bad experience with this firm to contact the Texas Bar as well as the BBB. Mark did eventually respond to one of my emails but all he did was copy and paste their policy. They hide behind their "jargon". Mark is not a man of his word. Not sure how they have gotten positive reviews. The positive reviews must either be people with plenty of disposable income or have been persuaded to write them. I will for sure be contacting the Bar and the BBB.

on't use Rick. I came to him about sexual abuse of my daughter after I got a temporary restraining order on my own, forensic interview for daughter, unable to determine with CPS which means they even believed abuse happened, just not the attorney Rick. I have been triggered since going into court with Rick and him angrily questioning me right before hearing so that I was too afraid to speak, as if he was on the opposing counsel, judge asking him why he wouldn't present any evidence.. I could go on and on. It's extremely sad when a mother does all she can to protect her child to have a man sit and laugh over the phone about your situation. Uncaring individuals only wanting to take your money, charging 5k for trial, and so of course I was railroaded by Crooked Kim Cooks at trial w/o an attorney. People like this see $$, color, and that's it. I'm an honest Veteran, and have no reason to lie about daughter's abuse, especially after a previous permanent restraining order put in place against other perpetrator a year prior to this, but people act as if they have no idea about sexual abuse, and use the mother as a scapegoat because complete details may not be known for years with the abused. I have also taken a polygraph to clear my name against any coaching allegations, forensic interviewer saw no red flags of coaching, school counselors testified to the abuse, ...My story is on a few podcasts with other women who have been treated in despicable ways by Kim Cooks and these people. Check it out on Everyday Life of Bryan Woodard. Be careful who you elect on the bench as well, because these judges side with their buddy, buddy attorneys, and attorneys will often let you know if the judges like them as if this isn't your life, your children's lives, but some popularity contest. Shameful that people can't just do their very best at what they do, but get over on unsuspecting individuals and their families
