Would love to give negative stars!! I called to confirm she had received mail that I had sent to her, and she immediately thought I was a debt collector?! And cussed at me!! Then continued being rude with me after realizing “her secretary” completely fumbled the paperwork for my family’s inheritance. To my knowledge, she has obtained tens of thousands of dollars from this inheritance, so its amazing that she couldn't be bothered to review paperwork BEFORE it is mailed out. Even if it was a genuine mistake by her secretary, that is completely unacceptable. In a nutshell, Maureen is utterly tactless, unprofessional, and based on my brief experience with her and the reviews here, she is a master con artist. I feel so sorry for my remaining family members that are now having to deal with her and for my great uncle for having entrusted the handling of his estate with her. RUN THE OTHER WAY.

Law Offices of Maureen E. Lane Introduce

The Law Offices of Maureen E. Lane, situated at 90 Salem St, Malden, MA 02148, USA, falls within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, aiming to serve local users with legal assistance. While specific details about the internal environment of the office are not publicly available, the address in Malden suggests a community-focused practice, accessible to residents of Malden and the surrounding areas. Law offices typically maintain a professional, discreet environment conducive to discussing sensitive legal matters.

Based on common practice areas for attorneys at this location and the nature of the provided reviews, the Law Offices of Maureen E. Lane primarily offers services related to estate planning and probate. These areas are crucial for individuals and families managing their assets, planning for the future, and dealing with the legal processes following a death. Typical services in these areas would include:

  • Estate Planning: This involves drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives to ensure clients' wishes regarding their assets and healthcare are honored. It's about planning for asset distribution, minimizing taxes, and designating guardians for minor children.
  • Probate and Estate Administration: Guiding executors and administrators through the legal process of validating a will, settling a deceased person's debts, and distributing assets to beneficiaries. This can be a complex and time-consuming process.
  • Elder Law: Assisting elderly clients and their families with issues pertinent to aging, such as long-term care planning, Medicaid planning, guardianship, and conservatorship.
  • Real Estate Law: While not explicitly stated, many general practice attorneys and those focused on estate work also handle residential real estate transactions, given the overlap with asset management.
  • Family Law: Some attorneys in general practice may also handle family law matters, such as divorce or child custody, which often intersect with estate planning.
  • Personal Injury: Occasionally, smaller firms might also offer personal injury representation, particularly if it's a general practice.

The core features of a legal practice, especially for local users, include accessibility, clear communication, professionalism, and a high degree of ethical conduct. Attorneys in this category strive to provide personalized attention and guidance through often emotionally charged and legally intricate processes.

However, an objective introduction necessitates a careful consideration of the provided customer reviews, which present a stark contrast in experiences:

One review expresses extreme dissatisfaction, awarding "negative stars" and labeling Attorney Lane as "utterly tactless, unprofessional, and... a master con artist." This client alleges that upon calling to confirm mail receipt, Attorney Lane mistakenly believed them to be a debt collector and "cussed" at them. The review further claims that the attorney's "secretary" fumbled paperwork for a family inheritance, and despite having allegedly obtained "tens of thousands of dollars" from this inheritance, Attorney Lane "couldn't be bothered to review paperwork BEFORE it is mailed out." The client expresses deep sympathy for remaining family members dealing with Attorney Lane and regret for their great uncle entrusting his estate to her, strongly advising others to "RUN THE OTHER WAY." This review points to severe issues with professional conduct, client communication, attention to detail, and financial transparency or perceived fairness of fees.

In direct contrast, another review offers a highly positive perspective, describing a very fortunate and understanding experience. This client recounts a critical situation where their mother was in her "last week from passing from cancer." They highlight that Attorney Lane "drove to the hospital in downtown Boston" at the last minute and was "very understanding and did paper work at the last minute." This client characterizes Attorney Lane as a "Great person doing a great job." This review highlights compassion, responsiveness, and a willingness to go above and beyond for a client in dire need, which are highly valued qualities in estate planning, especially during end-of-life situations.

These divergent reviews present a complex picture of the Law Offices of Maureen E. Lane. On one hand, there is an account of profound unprofessionalism, miscommunication, and dissatisfaction with service and fees. On the other, there is a testament to extraordinary compassion and timely, crucial assistance during a family crisis. This suggests that client experiences may vary significantly, possibly depending on the specific nature of the case, the urgency involved, or other factors not detailed.

Promotional information, inferred from typical legal practice marketing, would usually emphasize:

  • Compassionate Guidance: Particularly for estate planning and probate, attorneys often highlight their ability to provide sensitive support during difficult times.
  • Expertise and Experience: Showcasing knowledge of relevant laws and a track record of successfully handling cases.
  • Personalized Attention: Stressing a client-centered approach where individual needs and circumstances are prioritized.
  • Efficiency and Accuracy: Ensuring legal documents are prepared correctly and processes are handled smoothly.
However, the conflicting reviews mean that prospective clients will need to weigh these stated aims against the varied real-world experiences reported.

For local users considering the Law Offices of Maureen E. Lane, it is crucial to approach with caution and thorough due diligence, given the significant disparity in client feedback. Individuals can contact the firm via phone at (781) 321-9594 or mobile phone at +1 781-321-9594. The office is located at 90 Salem St, Malden, MA 02148, USA. Prospective clients should consider scheduling an initial consultation to directly assess Attorney Lane's communication style, discuss their specific legal needs, inquire about fee structures transparently, and perhaps seek references if possible, to form their own judgment based on direct interaction and a broader understanding of the firm's operations and reputation.

Maureen Lane is a thief. Look her up in mass public records, and you will see hundreds of deeds transferred over to her by the people she was appointed conservator over. We became victims at the hands of professionals, abusing there position of power and authority. I am not an evil person, I am not a liar , and I have never hurt anybody. Attorney Maureen E. Lane stole money from me and from my father. She would not talk to me or my brother, only my sister, and barely for that matter. She manipulated my sister eventually tarnishing our relationship. She did not report to the courts anything. I am going to make sure that she never does this again to anyone. I will get justice for my father, myself and all those families that fell victims to this criminal..

First of all, the review written by Shari Pynn is not a lie, or an exaggeration of any kind. What she did is far from over. Public records dating back to the 90’s , over 70 conservatorships, guardianships, over elderly men and women ( couples) decided to just sign the deeds to there homes they owned for there lifetimes after they were abandoned in Nursing Homes, Skilled Nursing Facilities, that she put them in, were all transferred over to Maureen Lane. She is named as beneficiary on countless life insurance policies, same names as the people who allegedly transferred the deeds, that there are four pages with her name in the unclaimed cash/ property of Massachusetts. that she still hasn’t claimed. She Also conveniently has had all those alleged legal documents notarized by the same notary for over the life of her criminal career, the past 30 years abusing her position. This review and the other review can 100% be backed up by a paper trail so long , it’s time for justice to be served. It’s well over due for legal action against her, and answer for her crimes. I guarantee , when that time comes, and it is coming , the entire world will know . This review and the other review is the truth , the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God!!!
