My Mother used this law firm to transfer her property to her adult children about 25 years ago. They were very competent and professional. Kudos to Leary and Holland Law firm! I will be using them for any legal matters in the future. My Mother was very satisfied with their services.
Leary & Holland is a law firm situated in Tiverton, Rhode Island, serving local users within the "Lawyers Near Me" platform category. The firm aims to provide legal services to the community, with client experiences, as reflected in available reviews, presenting a mixed picture of their operational efficacy and client satisfaction over time.
The offices of Leary & Holland are located at 3913 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI 02878, USA. This address in Tiverton places the firm within a convenient reach for residents of the town and surrounding areas who may be seeking legal assistance. Information regarding the internal environment of the office is not publicly detailed. However, the varying nature of client feedback suggests that while the firm operates from a physical location designed for legal practice, the client experience within that environment can differ significantly. Standard business hours would typically apply, providing accessibility for appointments and communications during the week.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Leary & Holland appears to offer services in property transfer and estate settlement (probate). One review specifically mentions the firm being used by a mother to "transfer her property to her adult children," indicating expertise in real estate transactions, property law, and potentially estate planning aspects related to asset distribution. The other review heavily focuses on the firm's handling of a "mother's very simple, straightforward estate," which falls under probate law. This suggests that the firm engages in the legal processes required to administer a deceased person's will or the estate of a person who dies without a will.
The firm's features, as observed through the provided reviews, present a dichotomy. On one hand, a positive review from approximately 25 years ago describes the firm as "very competent and professional" in handling a property transfer. This suggests a historical capacity for efficient and professional legal service, leading to client satisfaction and a willingness for repeat business. This older feedback highlights a positive client relationship and successful outcome in a specific legal area.
On the other hand, a more recent and extensive review paints a starkly different picture of the firm's operational features and client service. This review describes significant inefficiencies, with the closing of a "very simple, straightforward estate" taking two years, far exceeding a typical timeframe of 6-9 months. Key criticisms revolve around a perceived lack of proactive work ("dragging their feet," "did nothing for more than 6 months"), poor communication ("NO ONE would EVER return our calls!"), and a perceived lack of honesty and professionalism from an attorney within the firm, specifically Ray Holland Sr. The client alleges that they "had to do ALL the leg work for them," including hand-delivering multiple sets of paperwork, which were then claimed to be unreceived. The review further claims that Ray Holland Sr. admitted to "dropping the ball" and that it was "his bad," yet also allegedly made contradictory statements and placed blame elsewhere. The most severe allegation is that the firm "thought nothing of treating people who are grieving a loss like this!?! Disgusting!!" and that the estate was "not worth enough financially to them," implying a lack of commitment to cases not deemed highly lucrative. This feedback highlights significant concerns regarding the firm's efficiency, communication protocols, attentiveness to client needs, and ethical conduct in certain situations.
Given the nature of the reviews, promotional information for Leary & Holland is challenging to frame objectively without acknowledging the disparate client experiences. Historically, the firm could promote its competence and professionalism in property transfers, drawing on the positive feedback from a quarter-century ago. For individuals seeking assistance with property transfers, the historical positive review might still offer some reassurance regarding the firm's foundational capabilities in that specific area. However, for those seeking assistance with estate settlement or probate, the more recent and highly critical review presents a significant cautionary note. Any contemporary promotional efforts would need to address or at least be considered in light of these serious concerns about efficiency, communication, and client care in probate matters. Firms typically promote their experience, areas of specialization, and client satisfaction. In this case, the firm's general experience in property law and estate matters could be highlighted. However, the very negative recent review severely impacts any promotional claims of universal efficiency, responsiveness, or compassionate client service, especially concerning estate administration. For local users searching for "Lawyers Near Me," the firm's address and contact information are readily available, but the decision to engage their services would heavily depend on a prospective client's evaluation of these conflicting testimonials and the specific legal service they require. Without further information from the firm itself addressing these concerns, a balanced objective introduction must present both sides of the client experience as provided.

Aug 06, 2019 · Rosalyn RobertshawDon't ever use this law firm! They took 2 years to close my mother's very simple, straightforward estate, dragging their feet, when it should have easily been done in 6-9 months. I had to do ALL the leg work for them (& I wasn't even the executor of her will), hand delivering 3 sets of paperwork & statements on 3 seperate occasions, only to have Ray Holland Sr. then claim they received nothing! (He found all of it on his desk eventually). He literally admitted to having "dropped the ball," and said it was "his bad" for doing absolutely nothing on it for more than 6 months, all while we were calling constantly and NO ONE would EVER return our calls! He outright LIED to the executor of her estate, claiming it was HIS fault the firm did nothing for so long & that the executor told them everything was moving too fast, when in fact, Holland himself, in his office the day we went to read her will (5 days after Mom passed), told US "Woah woah woah! Slow down! You're trying to move WAY too fast!!" because I brought up Mom's income taxes that hadn't been filed due to her being incapacitated & needed to be. They put us on the back burner because her estate wasn't worth enough financially to them. They thought nothing of treating people who are grieving a loss like this!?! Disgusting!! THIS WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!
