Sadly, waited weeks for even a call back. Told me they'd have an answer for me in 4 days... a month ago. Still no answer. It's really sad, they run your time out before your court date, which will screw me over. No suggestions for me, NOTHING. If I wasn't from this country, I'd be at the top of the list. I'm disabled, poor. She did tell me however "it's expensive, but you could try a mediator" REALLY?! SERIOUSLY?!

The features of Legal Assistance of Dakota County, based on the limited information available and the client reviews, present a mixed picture. On one hand, the organization's mission is to provide crucial legal assistance to those who cannot afford it, which is a vital service for the community. They aim to bridge the gap in access to justice and ensure that vulnerable individuals have representation in legal matters that can significantly impact their lives.

However, the provided client reviews raise significant concerns regarding the organization's responsiveness and communication. Multiple reviewers express frustration with long wait times for callbacks, missed deadlines, and a lack of timely updates on their cases. One reviewer stated they waited weeks for an initial call and then did not receive a promised follow-up for over a month, potentially jeopardizing their court case.

Another review highlights a perceived lack of helpful suggestions or alternatives provided when direct assistance might not be immediately available. The comment about being told to "try a mediator" despite the client's stated financial hardship raises questions about the practicality and sensitivity of the advice given.

The recurring theme of ignored messages and delayed responses suggests potential challenges in the organization's capacity to handle the volume of requests they receive or in their communication protocols. While the intention to help those in need is likely present, the execution, according to these reviews, appears to be inconsistent and frustrating for some individuals seeking assistance.

One reviewer explicitly recommends "to keep calling and leaving voicemail," indicating that persistence might be necessary to get a response. This suggests that the standard communication channels may not be consistently effective.

It is crucial for potential clients to be aware of these reported experiences when considering seeking assistance from Legal Assistance of Dakota County. While the organization's mission is commendable, the feedback suggests that responsiveness and timely communication may be areas of concern.

They completely ignore your messages and only call you back to claim they're reviewing your case, but then make you wait even longer. They only respond when you're practically flooding their voicemail. I definitely RECOMMEND TO KEEP CALLING AND LEAVING VOICEMAIL

They suck! I contacted them, filled out intake, etc. They said someone would call back sithin a week to get more detailed info. Nope. 3 weeks later someone emailed me back (because I was consistently calling them because I never heard back)..the email said they are researching my case and would get back to me in a week at the latest. Nope! Wrong again! I called and emailed and left v.m's. Nithing. I called the day before my hearing ( cuz they had 6 weeks) and I was crying begging someone to get back to me for advice and maybe something I could use in court. No one called back. The morning of my court, I emailed them one more time and said I did everything I could do. I got intouch with them immediately, left messages, did intake, etc and you dropped the ball. I would have taken 10 minutes if that was offered! I was IN COURT and they called when court was already going on (of course my phone was off bcuz the court makes you do that), so AFTER court I had a message in the middle of court, and they said hmmm, uh maybe try this, xy and z. IM THE ONE THAT TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS GOING TO QUOTE TO THE JUDGE so all they did was repeat what I said! They are not too busy where they couldnt give me 10 minutes of their time in 6 weeks. Dakota county legal aid is a joke!

I've been waiting 2 almost 3 years to get assistance with my divorce. They contacted me several months ago saying I'm on top of the list. I haven't heard from anyone since I've left several messages. This is ridiculous at this point!
