I’ve waited a while , since my case was “closed “ to voice my concerns , since I’ve never had to experience a claim like this ever in my 70 years of life. I was NOT AT ALL satisfied with the outcome of my auto accident case handled by “Kim”, that occurred in January 2019. During my case “Kim” went thru several, not exaggerating , paralegals who lost my files , or she could not access the information they accumulated on my case , ie : no password access , when they left . I felt I did a lot of the work to duplicate the info she could not access or had literally had no access to during my case . Also I , myself , had to do a lot of the research and or follow up regarding why Medicare thought they were being double billed . I spent hours upon hours trying to explain to Medicare what pertained to the accident & what was regular medical expenses - unrelated . I alone , not my lawyer, was able to unravel all that and recover the funds in question . However, she still got her commission, and was I still out money, doing her job. I was on vacation with our grandchildren in Disney /Florida when her then “ paralegal “ called me & asked if I wanted to settle for a stated amount , rather than going to court & incurring more expenses , ie: calling witnesses , professionals etc etc & to testify about my permanent injuries & “possibly delaying the final settlement “ and “paying them more” and decreasing “my settlement money” to testify” about my permanent injuries “ , which I have as documented . I said I was on vacation & would call when we returned in a few days with my decision . Next thing that I knew “Kim” called & and stated that this was the final offer from the judge regarding my case & that “I should settle “ because this would be the final offer , in lieu of a court case where I I would have to to “pay” all the professionals , dr’s etc to testify about my “permanent “injuries & this would decrease my settlement amount . She ( Kim) told me I had to make a decision then & there. I felt very pressured , due to my situation being on vacation with my family in such a crowded place, & not being able to make a “qualified “ decision or discuss it with my husband in a private environment. So I agreed to her “suggestion “to settle . Just to note - this case was ongoing during the peak of COVID . Everything was Zoom & there were no court cases being scheduled or heard , unless they were emergencies . I feel I was deprived of a proper court decision &!was “persuaded “ to settle my case” because of this I have documented permanent injuries that won’t ever be resolved at my age , and I feel I’ve been cheated out of a proper settlement to acknowledge that. In short , I hesitated to voice my disappointment in the way my case was handled by my lawyer “ Kim” and the final outcome of it. I feel it was “ settled “ so everyone could get their “commission “, with no regard about my future medical conditions as a direct result of this accident / that wasn’t my fault. I considered writing a review of how disappointed I was about how my case was handled , and that I was just another commission for a “fender bender”. However I felt at the time , I was too angry about my case & its outcome& how it was “mishandled” to follow thru with that review to be fair .So since you asked, I’m answering . I hope my review of this poorly handled situation will prompt someone to reach out to me for further action . In all honesty , due to all this bad representation , I would never recommend this firm. Respectfully submitted Kim R Sferra
Welcome to the introduction of Levinson Axelrod, P.A., a law firm located at 44 Princeton Ave in Brick Township, NJ 08724. As a listing on the "Lawyers Near Me" platform, Levinson Axelrod, P.A. serves the legal needs of individuals in Brick Township and the surrounding communities. The firm can be reached at (848) 222-8053 or +1 848-222-8053. To provide local users with a detailed understanding of the firm, we will consider the available client reviews alongside the general expectation of services from a law firm.
One client, Kim R Sferra, shared a deeply negative experience regarding an auto accident case handled by an attorney at Levinson Axelrod, P.A. named "Kim." The case, which occurred in January 2019, left the client feeling "NOT AT ALL satisfied" with the outcome. Several issues were raised in the review, painting a picture of disorganization and a lack of comprehensive support. The client reported a high turnover of paralegals assigned to the case, leading to lost files and difficulty in accessing crucial information. This necessitated the client taking on a significant workload to duplicate information and conduct follow-up, particularly concerning Medicare billing inquiries. Despite the client's efforts in resolving a double-billing issue with Medicare and recovering funds, the firm still received its commission.
Furthermore, the client described feeling pressured to settle the case while on vacation. According to the review, a paralegal initially contacted the client with a settlement offer, suggesting that proceeding to court would incur additional expenses and potentially delay the final settlement. Subsequently, the attorney "Kim" reportedly informed the client that this was the final offer from the judge and strongly advised settling, citing the costs associated with expert witness testimony in a court case. The client felt pressured to make a decision without adequate time or a private environment for discussion, ultimately agreeing to the settlement. The client noted that the case was ongoing during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which court proceedings were primarily conducted via Zoom and in-person hearings were limited to emergencies. The client believes they were deprived of a proper court decision and persuaded to settle due to these circumstances, feeling cheated out of a fair settlement that acknowledged their documented permanent injuries.
In contrast to this negative experience, another client offered a highly positive review specifically for an attorney named Kathleen Digiovanni at Levinson Axelrod, P.A. This client described Kathleen Digiovanni as "very experienced and caring" and expressed great satisfaction with how she handled their case. Key aspects of Ms. Digiovanni's service highlighted in the review include her responsiveness ("She also returns your calls and is happy to answer any questions you have"), her ability to make clients feel comfortable, and her honesty throughout the legal process. The client expressed confidence in Ms. Digiovanni's representation and offered a strong recommendation. This review suggests that the quality of service may vary depending on the specific attorney within the firm.
Considering these two contrasting reviews, it is challenging to provide a singular characterization of the services offered by Levinson Axelrod, P.A. The negative review raises serious concerns about case management, communication, and client support in at least one instance. The issues reported, such as lost files, difficulty accessing case information, and perceived pressure to settle, are significant and would understandably lead to client dissatisfaction. On the other hand, the positive review of Kathleen Digiovanni indicates that the firm employs capable and client-focused attorneys who prioritize communication, comfort, and honesty.
The environment of Levinson Axelrod, P.A., located on Princeton Avenue in Brick Township, is likely that of a standard professional law office. Clients can probably expect private meeting rooms for consultations and discussions about their legal matters. The firm's physical presence in Brick Township suggests a commitment to serving the local community and providing accessible legal services to residents in the area.
In terms of services, based on the limited information, it can be inferred that Levinson Axelrod, P.A. handles personal injury cases, specifically including auto accidents, as indicated by the negative review. The positive review does not specify the area of law for which Kathleen Digiovanni provided excellent service. To gain a comprehensive understanding of all the legal services offered by the firm, local users are advised to contact Levinson Axelrod, P.A. directly.
Features of the firm appear to be varied based on the individual attorney. While one client experienced issues with organization and communication, another praised Kathleen Digiovanni for her experience, caring nature, responsiveness, honesty, and ability to make clients feel comfortable. This suggests that the firm may have a range of attorneys with different strengths and approaches to client service.
Promotional information is somewhat mixed due to the contrasting reviews. The positive review of Kathleen Digiovanni serves as a strong endorsement for her individual services and could attract clients seeking an experienced and caring attorney. However, the detailed negative review may deter potential clients who are concerned about case management and client support. Therefore, it is crucial for local users to consider both perspectives when evaluating Levinson Axelrod, P.A.
For local users in Brick Township seeking legal representation, contacting Levinson Axelrod, P.A. directly at (848) 222-8053 or +1 848-222-8053 is recommended. When calling, it would be prudent to inquire about the specific areas of law handled by the firm and to potentially request information about the attorneys who specialize in the relevant area of your legal need. If the positive attributes mentioned in the review of Kathleen Digiovanni align with your priorities, you may specifically inquire about her services.
In conclusion, Levinson Axelrod, P.A. in Brick Township, NJ, is a law firm with at least one attorney, Kathleen Digiovanni, who is highly regarded for her experience, caring approach, responsiveness, and honesty. However, a detailed negative review highlights significant concerns about case management and client support in a specific auto accident case handled by another attorney. Local users considering Levinson Axelrod, P.A. should be aware of these differing experiences and are encouraged to conduct thorough inquiries to determine if the firm and a specific attorney within it are the right fit for their legal needs.
