Kevin has not returned my calls, emails, or text messages in over 18 months, Nor has he responded to the insurance company that is handling my case. I thought Kevin was the type of attorney who ignored calls so he could spend his time working on cases - then I would see results. I do not believe that. I do not know why Kevin has not responded. Perhaps the Texas Barr can assist me with Kevin. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Services Offered

The Lindstrom Law Firm focuses on several key areas of law, primarily geared towards helping clients plan for the future and navigate financial or personal transitions. Their main practice areas include:

  • Estate Planning: This is a core service, where the firm assists clients in preparing for the future, ensuring their assets are managed and distributed according to their wishes. This can involve wills, trusts, and other essential documents.

  • Probate Services: The firm guides clients through the probate process, which is the legal procedure for validating a will and administering the estate of a deceased person. This is particularly valuable for individuals who may be out-of-state or unfamiliar with Dallas County probate requirements.

  • Business Development: For entrepreneurs and existing businesses, the firm offers services related to advising, entity selection and formation, partnership agreements, licensing, and trademarks. This support helps businesses establish and grow on a solid legal foundation.

  • Bankruptcy: The firm also handles bankruptcy cases, providing assistance to individuals or businesses facing financial distress and seeking legal solutions to manage or discharge debt.

The firm's website states a broader commitment to helping clients make informed and proactive decisions, emphasizing prevention where possible. This holistic approach to legal challenges is a notable aspect of their service delivery.

Environment and Client Experience

While specific details about the physical office environment are not extensively provided, the firm's stated goal is to make working with them "convenient, affordable and approachable." They endeavor to minimize costs and prioritize professionalism. The firm also highlights its willingness to go to clients where and when possible, which is a significant convenience feature, especially for those facing mobility challenges or time constraints. This client-centric approach suggests an environment that prioritizes client comfort and accessibility over rigid traditional office settings.

Client testimonials offer a mixed but informative perspective on the client experience. One client, navigating an out-of-state probate matter, highlighted the firm's professionalism, empathy, and experience. They also noted that Attorney Kevin Lindstrom "doesn't nickel-and-dime his clients" and maintains "fair and reasonable rates." This indicates a firm that strives for cost-effectiveness and client value.

However, another review noted significant communication challenges, with a client stating that calls, emails, and text messages went unreturned for over 18 months, and no response was provided to an insurance company handling their case. This suggests that while professionalism and fair rates are strong points, communication responsiveness can be an area for improvement. The firm's stated philosophy about making interactions convenient and approachable indicates an awareness of the importance of client communication, despite instances where it may fall short.

Features and Approach

Attorney Kevin Lindstrom's legal practice is centered around estate planning and probate services, but he has expanded his practice to include business development and bankruptcy. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law in 1997. He has been practicing in the North Texas area since then.

A key feature of Attorney Lindstrom's approach is his experience with pro bono efforts in estate planning, which inspired him to help families plan ahead for difficult times. This suggests a compassionate motivation behind his practice, aiming to alleviate stress related to legal and financial concerns so families can focus on personal and healing issues.

The firm emphasizes being "Experienced. Thorough. Compassionate." While professionalism and experience are acknowledged, the communication aspect, as per one review, can be a challenge. The firm's commitment to "fair and reasonable rates" is a significant feature, particularly in a legal market where costs can be a major concern for clients. The willingness to offer free consultations and in-person or phone consultations at the client's convenience also showcases a flexible and client-focused approach, aiming to remove barriers to accessing legal advice.

The firm's staff also includes Maya, a New York-licensed attorney with experience in business development and bankruptcy cases, further enhancing the firm's capabilities in those areas. Her role as a Court-appointed special advocate for children with Dallas CASA also points to a commitment to community involvement and a compassionate perspective.

Promotional Information and Client Testimonials

The Lindstrom Law Firm promotes itself as a firm that helps clients make informed and proactive decisions, especially when "Life Happens." Their offering of a free 45-minute consultation, either in person or over the phone, is a direct promotional tool designed to encourage prospective clients to initiate contact and assess their legal needs without an upfront financial commitment.

Client testimonials provide invaluable insights into the firm's reputation and operational aspects:

  • Positive Outcomes: One client praised the "positive outcome" achieved with Kevin's guidance in a challenging probate matter, indicating effective legal representation.

  • Fair and Reasonable Rates: The firm is commended for not "nickel-and-diming" clients and maintaining "fair and reasonable rates," which is a strong selling point for many seeking legal services.

  • Empathy and Professionalism: Despite noted communication issues, clients have found Attorney Lindstrom to be empathetic and professional, highlighting the quality of his direct interactions.

  • Communication Challenges: It is important to note the significant negative feedback regarding communication, with one client reporting unreturned calls, emails, and texts for an extended period. This is a critical point for potential clients to consider and for the firm to address.

In summary, for local users in Dallas seeking "Lawyers Near Me" for estate planning, probate, business development, or bankruptcy, Lindstrom Law Firm offers an experienced attorney, competitive rates, and a stated commitment to compassionate and convenient service. While the issue of communication responsiveness has been raised by a client, the positive outcomes and fair pricing are significant factors that draw clients to the firm.

Navigating a probate matter in Dallas County, especially being out of state, was a daunting task. In such unfamiliar territory, I enlisted the assistance of Kevin Lindstrom. My decision to give a 5-star rating is a direct result of the positive outcome I achieved with Kevin's guidance. Like most seasoned professionals, Kevin has his strengths and weaknesses. Starting with the latter, prompt communication and proactive responsiveness are aspects Kevin could improve. However, he makes up for it with empathy, professionalism, and experience. A noteworthy point is that, unlike many attorneys, Kevin doesn't nickel-and-dime his clients. He maintains fair and reasonable rates, which means that dealing with occasional communication challenges is simply part of the package.

I change the review from one star to three stars because Kevin Lindstrom did complete the Probate on October 16th 2023. I understand that cancer is a very private matter, but I wish the Mr. Lindstrom had let me know that he was having health problems, instead of what seem to me to be misleading statements. I am very sorry to hear about the cancer. Lindstrom has one last task to complete and that is the inventory that is supposed to be turn in by now. The problem I had with Kevin Lindstrom: 1) Linstrom stated that “these cases in Dallas County are typically taking around 4 months, so we should be done in five months.” That was March 2, 2023. 2) On March 4th he wrote “Thank you for this. I’m still organizing my week so I will let you know soon as I can.” This was in response to me Offering on both March 3rd and fourth to bring him the documents. It seem to me that he was going to get with me soon, but after waiting seven and half weeks, I contracted him. Finally after two Emails on April 25th he agree to meet me April 28th where I meet with him in the lobby and gave him the documents. 3) Did not contact him again until June 26th, On June 27th I received a Card from Jesse wanting to buy my deceased mother’s house with the PR number. I look up the number and saw that 6 documents were listed and that he paid $388. I now felt that he was doing all he could. I said, “I guess we are waiting for the judge to set a date.” He text and said “Yes…sorry, wish things were faster but the court is the court.” I interpret that as him saying we are waiting on the judge, but later I learn on August 16th that the court was waiting on him to submit the probate hearing document and we were never waiting on the judge. 4) On August 18th, he wrote “Bill, it does take some time between filing and acceptance, but we are working on it and should have a hearing date some time next week.” Have not had a hearing date at this time. This is the last time he has responded to me.

I hired Kevin to represent me for my mother’s estate. He doesn’t respond for several weeks at a time. Don’t hire him!! Ended up firing him and never received my refund for remaining retainer. Shameful!

The entire firm could not be kinder and knowledgeable about the law. My sister and I have been treated with respect. We plan on using Kevin Lindstrom for all of our family issues going forward. We have complete confidence in his council.
