As others have pointed out below, this is a shady firm working to collect money from whoever, whether they have the right person or not. I am not sure whether it is best to ignore them or respond because in my case I responded to let them know that they had the wrong person and they still managed to intercept my CA tax refund. I had to appear in court and explain to the judge the situation. Of course they were able to prove that I was not the person they were looking for and had the judge dismiss these phony allegations. I am not sure what is the best course of action but this is what I had to do. A complete waste of my day to prove something that I had not done or owed money for. How are they able to do this without penalty? I have no idea and I was informed that it would be several months before my tax refund is returned to me. I do suggest to contact the alleged government agencies that you owe money to to confirm that you in fact are not liable for any fines. This will confirm that you don't owe any fines and you can inform the judge and clerk of this. They will investigate this the day you appear in court and have you out of there as fast as they can. Hope this helps.

Linebarger Goggan Blair Introduce

For individuals and entities in the Los Angeles area seeking legal assistance and searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, Linebarger Goggan Blair is a law firm located at 515 Flower St # 3500, Los Angeles, CA 90071, USA. They can be contacted via phone at (213) 614-9665 or mobile at +1 213-614-9665. It is important to note that the available information primarily consists of customer reviews that express significant concerns regarding the firm's practices, particularly in the realm of debt collection.

The firm's physical location in a downtown Los Angeles office building suggests a professional environment typical of legal practices. However, the limited information available does not offer specific details about the office atmosphere or client interaction spaces. As a law firm operating within a major metropolitan area, it is likely equipped to handle a variety of legal matters, though the public feedback strongly focuses on their role in debt collection, often related to governmental entities.

The services offered by Linebarger Goggan Blair, based on the available reviews, appear to heavily involve the collection of outstanding debts, potentially on behalf of government agencies. This could encompass various types of financial obligations, such as fines, fees, or taxes. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that the nature and fairness of their collection practices are central to the concerns raised in the customer feedback. Potential clients should be aware that their experience might differ depending on the specific legal matter at hand, but the prevailing sentiment in the reviews warrants careful consideration.

The features of Linebarger Goggan Blair, as perceived through the lens of the provided customer reviews, present a concerning picture. One reviewer describes the firm as "shady" and alleges that they pursue individuals for debts without proper verification, even after being informed of mistaken identity. This individual recounts a situation where their California tax refund was intercepted despite them not being the debtor in question, necessitating a court appearance to resolve the issue. The reviewer expresses frustration at the wasted time and the inconvenience caused by having to prove their lack of liability. A significant point raised is the apparent lack of penalties for the firm in such instances, alongside the delayed return of the wrongfully intercepted funds.

Another review echoes these sentiments, describing a letter received regarding a fine supposedly owed by the reviewer's brother from a past situation. Upon investigating the case number through the court system, the reviewer found no record, further fueling suspicions of "shady" practices. This individual notes the consistency of such negative experiences across multiple online reviews and expresses a negative opinion of the firm's leadership.

Based on this limited but strongly negative feedback, the perceived features of Linebarger Goggan Blair include:

  • Aggressive Debt Collection Practices: The reviews suggest a firm that actively pursues debt collection, sometimes with questionable accuracy regarding the identity of the debtor.
  • Potential for Mistaken Identity Issues: At least one reviewer explicitly details a case of being wrongly targeted for a debt.
  • Lack of Transparency Concerns: The inability to find court records related to a claimed debt raises questions about the transparency of their collection efforts.
  • Negative Customer Experiences: The overall tone of the reviews is highly critical, with terms like "shady" used to describe the firm's operations.

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the available customer reviews, it is challenging to identify any positive promotional aspects. The feedback serves as a cautionary note for potential clients. There is no indication of promotional offers or statements from the firm itself in the provided text. The absence of positive reviews or self-promotion in this context underscores the importance of carefully considering the experiences shared by other individuals.

For local users in Los Angeles who are considering Linebarger Goggan Blair based on its location within the "Lawyers Near Me" search results, it is strongly recommended to proceed with extreme caution. The experiences shared by previous individuals suggest potential pitfalls, including the risk of being pursued for debts that are not their own or that lack proper documentation. Before engaging with this firm for any legal matter, it would be prudent to conduct thorough due diligence, which could include:

  • Seeking independent legal advice: Consult with another attorney to understand your rights and the best course of action if you have been contacted by Linebarger Goggan Blair.
  • Verifying the legitimacy of any claimed debt: As one reviewer suggests, directly contact the alleged government agency to confirm the existence and validity of the debt.
  • Researching further reviews and information: Look for additional feedback online from various sources to gain a broader understanding of the firm's reputation and practices.

In conclusion, while Linebarger Goggan Blair is a law firm located in Los Angeles, the available customer reviews paint a concerning picture, particularly regarding their debt collection practices. Potential clients should be aware of the allegations of pursuing incorrect individuals and lacking transparency. Given this feedback, it is advisable to exercise significant caution and conduct thorough research before engaging their services. The information presented here is an objective reflection of the provided customer reviews and does not constitute legal advice.

Got a letter from these people about a fine my brother owes from a situation from 2018. I searched up the case number to see if there's anything about this through the court system and found nothing. Very shady. Looking at all the reviews, I feel like other people are experiencing the same thing. The person running this firm must be a sob.

Horrible customer service!!! They sent me a letter that I owe 83.15 to the State of Colorado High-Performance Transportation Enterprise. This was for the first time I was being informed of such a debt. When I asked when it had happened the operator told me the Aug of 2018 (more than two years ago). I explained to her that at that time I was moving from Missouri to California and was not familiar with the road so it is totally possible that I have used a toll road and I just did not notice at the time. I added that I never received any letter about the billing due using the toll road so this was the first time that I was informed of this debt. The operator said that the initial billing was sent to the address of my car registration which was in Missouri that I was not living in there anymore. So I never became aware of such a bill. I said I am more than happy to pay the original billing which according to her it was ~ 13.xx dollars and waive the rest of the amount which is the fee for the late payment. I explained over and over that I moved from Missouri to California and never received any billing or letter about the amount I owe to the Colorado toll road and asked if I can just pay the 13.xx dollars as I was supposed to pay in the first place. Unfortunately, she kept saying that I need to pay the whole amount or dispute it by sending a fax or a mail to their address. I don't really understand why they want to make it so complicated?! How am I supposed to know about the amount that I owe to the Colorado toll road when I do not know about it?

I also received a letter saying I owe 490$ for a ticket from 4 years ago in LA and at that time I didn't even live in CA. I tried to call them and once I just got disconnected and the other time it kept saying wait for the representative. I looked up the case number and it didn't even exist.

Not sure why the state of CA would use this amateur hour call center but either way. Be aware, they will do whatever it takes to prolong refunds or any kind of money returns when they are overpaid or have deducted wrongfully. Both judges in CA that I saw and know about this law firm and program have said its a joke and they hate that an out of state law firm handles their traffic fines.
