Apr 25, 2024 路 RobinI first met Lonnie Nunley when I was being sued by my former landlord. As a disabled veteran, I have experienced homeless before and know hardship but living at The Flats at Ginter Park was revolting . Roaches, bedbugs, leaking garbage disposals, broken toilets and showers, maintainance men stealing everything I had of value. When The Flats attempted to sue me for rent I didn't owe, Mr. Nunley was hanging aroung the courtroom and offered to represent a group of former tenants; including myself; in a pro bono lawsuit against The Flats. Eventually, it was decided the there would be individual lawsuits. But weeks turned into months with no results and no word from Mr. Nunley other than an single email 7 months after I spoke to him in court. He finally contacted me again in March of 2019, a full 10 months after a judge dimissed the lawsuit my landlord had brought against me. Mr. Nunley promised to take me down to the courthouse and help me file a lawsuit. He did not and he never called. When I called the following week to inquire why he hadn't shown up, his secretary made excuses for him. Ten minutes later Mr. Nunley called me himself. He was extremely rude and condesending to me; accusing me of being rude to his secretary when I had not been. I asked him why he hadn't kept his promises to contact me last year or last week and he became even more belligerant. He told me "Now you can go to Legal Aid and file your law suit". What a sanctimonious, pious jackass! I don't care how much education and and experiece a person has. There is such a thing as professionalism and human compassion. Lonnie Nunley appears to sorely lacking in both of these qualities. The moment a female disabled veteran had the audacity to challenge his perceived authority, Nunley became condesending and insulting. Apparently Mr. Nunley thinks he is better than poor people and veterans that are forced to live in sub-standard housing and anyone that dares to question him. He also seemed to have to forgotten that HE came chasing after ME. I did NOT go looking for HIM! He was haunting the courthouse that day in May last year LOOKING for a class action lawsuit. There's a name for lawyers like Nunley: "Ambulance Chaser"! He is looking for a big pay day and when I hurt his male pride he insulted me and dismissed me like a bad lawsuit. I would not recommend his services to anyone in need of an attorney.
