They are misinformed about the laws for restraining orders, telling me I wasn’t eligible for one and told me they wouldn’t even try. They kept validating my abuser’s potential defenses, when their job should have been to help me combat it. When I challenged their opinion, they patrionized and gaslit me. For shame for anyone to advertise themselves as lawyers for SA and DV when they just validate the abusers and are too incompetent to come up with responses. Sure enough they were wrong and I got one: but I had to do it myself which shouldn’t have had to happen when I have a lawyer with a signed retainer. They also victim blamed me and accused me of being compliant in my own abuse. I had to undergo weeks of therapy to recover from my own lawyer accusing me of compliancy. They also held up the investigation by failing to respond to emails from law enforcement in a timely manner. It’s a shame that funding is being wasted on an organization who quite simply fails to adequately advocate for and represent victims of abuse.

Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice Introduce

Welcome to "Lawyers Near Me," your platform for finding legal services in your local community. Today, we introduce the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (LACLJ), situated at 5301 Whittier Blvd 4th floor, Los Angeles, CA 90022, USA. If you are a resident of Los Angeles County seeking legal assistance, particularly in areas related to family law, domestic violence, or sexual assault, LACLJ is an organization you might consider contacting.

The Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice can be reached by phone at (323) 980-3500 or via mobile at +1 323-980-3500. Their location on Whittier Boulevard in Los Angeles suggests they are positioned to serve communities within the city. As an organization focused on law and justice, their environment likely aims to be accessible and supportive for individuals seeking legal aid.

The available reviews from clients present a stark contrast in experiences. One client shared a deeply negative experience regarding their attempt to obtain a restraining order. This reviewer stated that LACLJ misinformed them about their eligibility, refused to try to obtain the order, and seemed to validate the alleged abuser's defenses. The client further claimed they were patronized and gaslit when they questioned the legal advice provided. This individual ultimately had to secure a restraining order themselves after being told by LACLJ they weren't eligible. They also alleged victim blaming and accusations of being complicit in their own abuse, which reportedly necessitated therapy. Additionally, this reviewer claimed that LACLJ delayed an investigation by not responding to law enforcement emails promptly and expressed concern about the organization's effectiveness in advocating for abuse victims.

Conversely, another client offered a highly positive review, describing the staff at LACLJ as "absolutely amazing and God sent." This reviewer stated that LACLJ went "above and beyond" to assist them with ongoing family court matters and described their experience as "Amazing!" This feedback suggests that some clients have found the services provided by LACLJ to be exceptionally helpful and supportive, particularly in the context of family court.

Given these divergent experiences, it's important for potential clients to consider both perspectives. The negative review raises serious concerns about the handling of restraining order cases and the support provided to victims of abuse, while the positive review highlights excellent service in family court matters.

Based on the limited information and the nature of the organization's name, the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice likely offers services in areas such as:

  • Family Law (as indicated by the positive review mentioning family court matters).
  • Domestic Violence support and legal assistance (although the negative review raises concerns about their approach in this area).
  • Potentially, legal aid for underserved populations.
  • Issues related to justice, which could encompass a range of legal areas.

For local users in Los Angeles seeking legal assistance through "Lawyers Near Me," the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice is a local organization to be aware of. However, the significant discrepancy in client experiences suggests that the quality of service may vary depending on the specific legal issue and the individuals involved. Potential clients may need to inquire carefully about the organization's expertise and approach in their specific area of need.

If you are considering seeking legal help from the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, it would be advisable to ask specific questions about their experience and approach in cases similar to yours. For instance, if you are seeking a restraining order or dealing with issues of domestic violence or sexual assault, you might want to inquire about their track record and their philosophy in representing survivors.

The positive review regarding family court matters indicates that LACLJ may be a valuable resource in that domain. If your legal needs fall within family law, this positive feedback could be reassuring.

As a platform aiming to provide objective information, "Lawyers Near Me" presents both positive and negative feedback when available. In the case of the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, the contrasting reviews highlight the importance of individual experiences and the need for potential clients to conduct their own assessment based on their specific legal requirements.

To learn more about the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, you can contact them at (323) 980-3500. When you call, be prepared to ask detailed questions about their services in your area of need and their approach to client representation.

In summary, the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice is a legal organization located in Los Angeles. They have received both highly positive feedback regarding their work in family court and very negative feedback concerning their handling of a restraining order case involving allegations of domestic violence and sexual assault. Potential clients should consider these differing perspectives and inquire directly about the services relevant to their situation to determine if LACLJ is the right fit for their legal needs.

Did my DACA 2 years ago here and the lawyer Mariliz helped me with my paper work. They where efficient, helpful, and resourceful. This place goes far and beyond with serving the community in legal services COMPARED to CHIRLA which was terrible.
