I sat down with Joe yesterday as I had some questions regarding my divorce which needed clarification. Even though Joe it's not representing me he's still gave me his valuable time in a free consultation which really made me feel much better about my situation after I left his office. I thought he was a very nice gentleman and obviously very well schooled in family law. I will definitely recommend Joe Marvin to anyone I know who is in need a family related litigation services!

While specific details about the office's ambiance or size are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, one can generally anticipate a setting suitable for client consultations and legal work. Based on the available customer reviews, Marvin Law Office, L.L.C. appears to have experience in family law. One reviewer specifically mentioned meeting with Joe (presumably an attorney at the firm) for clarification regarding a divorce. This suggests that family law, including divorce proceedings, may be one of the areas of legal practice at this office. The reviewer noted that even though Joe was not representing them, he provided valuable time for a free consultation and demonstrated knowledge in family law. This indicates a potential willingness to offer initial guidance and expertise in this field.
However, it is important to consider all feedback when evaluating a legal service provider. Another review describes a negative initial phone interaction with the office staff. The reviewer recounts a rude and unprofessional response when inquiring about legal advice, which led them to decide against pursuing services with the firm. This negative experience highlights the importance of professional and courteous communication from all members of a law office, as first impressions can significantly impact potential client relationships.
The features of Marvin Law Office, L.L.C., based on the positive review, include the availability of free initial consultations, at least in some circumstances. The attorney, Joe, is described as knowledgeable in family law and willing to provide his time to answer questions even for individuals who are not yet clients. This suggests a potential commitment to helping people understand their legal situations and offering guidance. The reviewer also found Joe to be a "very nice gentleman," indicating a positive interpersonal interaction.
Conversely, the negative review points to a potential issue with the professionalism and tone of the office staff during initial phone inquiries. Rudeness and an unprofessional manner in handling potential clients can be a significant drawback, as it may deter individuals from seeking the firm's legal services, regardless of the attorneys' expertise.
Promotional information for Marvin Law Office, L.L.C., derived from the positive customer testimonial, could emphasize the availability of free initial consultations (in certain cases) and the knowledgeable and approachable nature of their attorneys, particularly in family law. The positive experience of feeling "much better" after the consultation could be highlighted to attract individuals seeking clarity and understanding regarding their legal issues. The recommendation for family-related litigation services also serves as a positive endorsement.
However, the negative review serves as a cautionary note, suggesting that improvements in phone etiquette and initial client interactions may be needed to ensure a positive first impression for all potential clients. While the legal expertise of the attorneys may be valuable, the overall client experience, starting from the initial contact, plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining clients.
For local users in Anoka and the surrounding areas searching for "Lawyers Near Me," Marvin Law Office, L.L.C. offers a local presence and potential expertise in family law. The availability of a free initial consultation, as reported by one reviewer, could be a beneficial feature for those seeking preliminary guidance. However, the reported negative phone interaction highlights the importance of considering all aspects of client service when making a decision. Potential clients may want to be mindful of this feedback when contacting the office.

Addressing the contrasting feedback from the reviews directly with the firm might also provide valuable insight into their client care practices.
In conclusion, Marvin Law Office, L.L.C. in Anoka, Minnesota, appears to offer legal services with potential expertise in family law, as indicated by a positive review highlighting a helpful and knowledgeable attorney who offers free initial consultations. However, a negative review concerning unprofessional phone etiquette suggests that the initial client experience may vary. Feb 11, 2020 · Jonathan HopkinsJust called marvins law office to receive some legal advice/ council on a very important situation to me. Probably an easy money case for any lawyer. But the gentleman who answered the phone was very rude off the bat. when I said who I was and asked that I was seeking legal advice, they said “ okay long pause about what” in the rudest tone and unprofessional manner. Not sure because I don’t work at a law office not my profession. but I’m pretty sure some sort of comfort or just common nice tone would go along way to maybe get new clients? and after looking at the other reviews I’m glad I’m taking my business else where.
Jan 26, 2022 · Jacob GerdowskyEDIT 2023: This review reflects my personal opinion, based on my personal experience. Making this edit because even 13 years later I still have negative feelings about how my custody case was handled. There a couple of things that were not addressed in my case that only created conflict for the past 13 years between myself and the other parent . One example is that there was no clause that determined which parent would claim the child as a dependent on their taxes. Had the original custody order been more thorough, perhaps it would have alleviated the constant arguments that came during tax time. Joe Marvin took a cookie cutter approach to my case and did not consider how a 5-2-2-5 would affect our family. This particular time sharing set-up is what many lawyers and judges will want to default to, but it DOES NOT WORK for everyone (if anyone). It was a major detriment to the upbringing of my child. Save yourself the anguish that I went through and find yourself a family law attorney who will not set you up for failure. I spent all of my life savings to hire Joe and could not afford to retain another attorney to modify my custody agreement. In response to my original review, Mavin law office writes "It is always our goal to provide each client with the best representation possible. Mr. Marvin indicated you needed to go through mediation prior to re-opening your case with the Court. You were unwilling to follow through with his free advice." This is NOT TRUE. To my above point, had the original order been thorough there would be no need to go to mediation, would there? Also Mr. Marvin also stated that he would not help me at all unless I removed this review. (end of edit 2023) (Original review) This review reflects my personal opinion, based on my personal experience. Joe Marvin represented me in a custody case a very long time ago (2008-2010). I am now, and I was then, very disappointed across the board. An example would be the final agreement (decree). It was as cookie-cutter as they come, with no attention to detail or personal consideration for what I was hoping to achieve. With a less-than-mediocre decree, I have found myself in perpetual conflict with the other party. This could have been prevented all together, had the paperwork been drawn up to reflect our individual needs at the time. In responding to another less-than-stellar Google review, Mr. Marvins office states "Client satisfaction is our #1 priority and we welcome the opportunity to address and resolve your specific concerns." This couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, when I called him recently to "address and resolve" my specific concerns, Mr. Marvin was receptive at first, but ironically was not interested in resolving anything. Trust me, going through a custody proceeding is not easy, but having a lawyer that makes things worse, just makes things worse. Choose wisely! RESPONSE TO RESPONSE: Contrary to what Mr. Marvins paralegal makes it sound like in the response below, I did contact mediation. (ANOKA County Mediation services) In fact that was the first thing I did prior to contacting Mr. Marvin. I had a question about the first agreement that Mr. Marvin had drawn up and was signed in 2010. ONE QUESTION and he couldn't even help me with that. No where in the documents does it say Joe Marvin will no longer speak to you concerning your case unless you go to mediation. This just goes to show that Joe has no idea what his clients are needing or wanting. Do yourself a favor... Hire a lawyer that will answer questions about your case even down the road- long after your check has been cashed. IMHO (end of original review)
Aug 16, 2023 · Teransc PhillipSTRONGLY would NOT recommend. Within the first five minutes of my consultation he laughed AT me. He was rude, belittling and assumed he knew exactly what my situation was after the first 10 minutes of meeting him. He cut me off when I tried to answer the questions he asked and could not have been more unwilling to understand my situation and why I was there. I honestly have no idea how he gets people to hire him. I left his office in tears and felt it was a complete waste my time.
Oct 10, 2019 · Maggie PichottaMy experience with Mr. Marvin exceeded my expectations when he went to bat for me in my recent custody action when other attorneys told me I did not have a chance in hell. Mr. Marvin was very straightforward and did not beat around the bush and that took some getting used to. The resulting custody order was in my favor and I cannot express enough gratitude.
