Extremely Disappointing Experience I hired Matt to write a demand letter for a commercial lease dispute involving serious property issues and financial damages. What I received was delayed communication, bare-minimum effort, and no follow-through. Consultation was on 1/11. Agreement signed & Payment sent on 1/21. After a full month of silence, I requested a refund on 2/21. He apologized and promised the letter by 2/25. I stayed hopeful and waited. The letter I received was nothing more than a copy-paste of emails I had sent him throughout the month. I was stunned. On 2/27, I sent him a detailed outline of what should’ve been included in his generic letter—then heard nothing again. On 3/3, I requested a refund for the second time. Still trying to be understanding, I waited. On 3/4, I received a new letter—this one was actually strong and well-written. It gave me hope. But again, no follow-up. He gave my landlord 10 days to respond, but there was no plan to enforce it or follow up. I had to keep chasing him for answers. Completely frustrated I asked via email, “What was the point of a letter with a deadline if there’s no plan to act on it?” he replied, “I hope you did not expect a miracle to come from the letter. I have properly served a Demand Letter. Where you go from here is up to you. I am okay if you would like to hire another attorney for your next plan of action." That response was dismissive & unprofessional. He claimed he was “prepared to sue,” but his actions said otherwise. No real advocacy, no strategy, no effort to engage—just condescending responses when I pushed for results. He required a $3,000 retainer & $300 per hour to sue. Per his contract: “Attorney shall assist Client in legal matters which includes writing a letter to Client's landlord demanding compensation and remedial measures to cure landlord's breach of legal duties owed to Client for the primary purpose of inducing a renegotiation of the lease agreement.” Helloooo, no renegotiation of my lease occurred. Why would I trust him with $3K when he didn’t even fully execute the first task I paid for? Honestly, I could’ve had ChatGPT write me a legal letter—for free had I known he was not planning on following through after it was sent. Not only did Matt waste my time—he weakened my entire position, made me look unprepared in front of my landlord, and likely caused them to not take my legal demands seriously. That kind of negligence damages credibility—and in business, that’s everything. For context: I pay $8,473/month in rent at this commercial property. This wasn’t a small matter—it was a high-stakes legal issue that deserved real advocacy. This wasn’t just about a letter—it was my business, my brand, and my livelihood. Matt’s lack of urgency and care made a difficult situation even worse. He has added more burdens to my already stressful situation. If you’re looking for a dependable attorney who will actually advocate for you, keep looking—Matt is not it.

When seeking legal representation through platforms like "Lawyers Near Me," it is crucial to consider various factors, including the firm's areas of practice, its professional environment, and the experiences of past clients. Matthew D. McMaster, LLC operates from an office in Marietta, suggesting accessibility for local residents seeking in-person consultations and legal support. The provided contact information allows for direct communication to inquire about their services and areas of legal expertise.

Based on the available customer reviews, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the significantly negative experience reported by one individual who hired Matthew D. McMaster, LLC for a commercial lease dispute involving serious property issues and financial damages. This reviewer described their experience as "extremely disappointing," detailing issues with delayed communication, a perceived "bare-minimum effort," and a lack of follow-through on the agreed-upon legal tasks.

The timeline provided by the reviewer indicates a consultation on January 11th, a signed agreement and payment sent on January 21st, followed by a month of silence leading to a request for a refund on February 21st. Subsequently, the attorney reportedly apologized and promised a demand letter by February 25th. The letter received was described as merely a "copy-paste of emails" the client had previously sent. Following this, the client sent a detailed outline of what they believed should have been included in the letter but allegedly heard nothing further.

On March 3rd, the client requested a refund for the second time. A new letter was received on March 4th, which the reviewer acknowledged as "strong and well-written," offering some initial hope. However, the client reported a continued lack of follow-up after the letter was sent to the landlord, who was given a ten-day response deadline. The client stated they had to repeatedly chase the attorney for answers regarding the next steps or enforcement plan.

Expressing complete frustration, the client inquired about the purpose of a letter with a deadline if there was no intention to act upon it. The attorney's response, as quoted by the reviewer, was, “I hope you did not expect a miracle to come from the letter. I have properly served a Demand Letter. Where you go from here is up to you. I am okay if you would like to hire another attorney for your next plan of action.” The reviewer found this response to be "dismissive & unprofessional."

The reviewer further noted that despite the attorney claiming to be "prepared to sue," their actions suggested otherwise, citing a lack of real advocacy, strategy, or effort to engage, coupled with condescending responses when the client pressed for results. The agreed-upon contract involved writing a demand letter to induce lease renegotiation, which the reviewer pointed out did not occur. They expressed reluctance to trust the attorney with a $3,000 retainer for further action given the perceived failure to fully execute the initial task.

The reviewer concluded by stating that the attorney not only wasted their time but also weakened their position with the landlord, potentially damaging their credibility and making their legal demands seem less serious. They strongly advised others seeking a dependable attorney who will advocate for them to look elsewhere and alleged that the attorney had been reported to the Georgia Bar for Legal Malpractice, describing their experience as a "complete disaster" that worsened their landlord/tenant dispute.

Given this detailed and overwhelmingly negative account from a client who engaged Matthew D. McMaster, LLC for a commercial lease dispute, potential clients searching for legal assistance in Marietta through the "Lawyers Near Me" platform should carefully consider these reported experiences. This feedback raises significant concerns about communication, diligence, follow-through, and overall client service in at least one instance involving a commercial lease dispute.

At this time, no other customer reviews were provided to offer a contrasting perspective. Therefore, local users considering Matthew D. McMaster, LLC for their legal needs should weigh this detailed negative experience heavily in their decision-making process. It is strongly recommended that potential clients conduct thorough due diligence, including seeking additional reviews or references if available, and directly inquire about the firm's approach to client communication, case management, and advocacy, particularly in areas relevant to their legal needs.

As a platform connecting local users with legal services, "Lawyers Near Me" provides a directory of options in the Marietta area. Matthew D. McMaster, LLC's listing allows individuals to find a local law firm. However, the provided review serves as a critical piece of information that potential clients should consider as part of their evaluation process.

In conclusion, Matthew D. McMaster, LLC is a law firm located in Marietta, GA, offering legal services to the local community. However, a detailed and highly negative review regarding the handling of a commercial lease dispute raises significant concerns about the firm's service in at least this area. Potential clients are strongly advised to carefully consider this feedback and conduct thorough further research before engaging their services.
