I strongly advise anyone considering McChesney to look elsewhere. My experience with her was filled with dishonesty, lack of transparency, and outright negligence. She failed to inform me about critical details regarding a closed hearing, later providing me with false or misleading information about what had actually occurred. I only found out the truth through my own efforts, which is unacceptable from someone who was supposed to be my legal advocate. Beyond that, she did not prioritize my case, rarely responded in a timely manner, and failed to provide the legal guidance necessary for me to make informed decisions. Even after her departure from private practice, I have repeatedly requested my case file, and she has outright refused to provide it. She has ignored multiple attempts to contact her regarding this, and the firm she claimed had taken over her caseload never even received my file. This has left not only me, but multiple other clients, in a terrible position with no legal continuity. An attorney’s job is to represent their client’s best interests, not to mislead, ignore, or abandon them. Now that she is a public defender, I am concerned about the people who will rely on her for competent legal representation. If you value honesty, communication, and an attorney who actually fights for you, do yourself a favor and find someone else. I would never trust her with any legal matter.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided information, there are no public promotions or special offers explicitly advertised by McChesney Law. Law firms typically do not offer promotional discounts or deals in the same way retail businesses might. Legal fees are generally determined by the complexity of the case, the time and resources required, and the specific services rendered.

However, it is common practice for many law firms to offer an initial consultation. These consultations may sometimes be complimentary or offered at a reduced rate, serving as an opportunity for prospective clients to discuss their legal matter, understand potential strategies, and inquire about the firm's fee structure before making a commitment. Given the severe negative feedback in the provided reviews regarding billing, communication, and client trust, it would be absolutely critical for any potential client to engage in extremely thorough and direct communication regarding fees, billing practices, and expectations for communication and case progress during any initial discussion with McChesney Law, or any other legal entity associated with the name. Without clear public information about any current fee structures or initial consultation policies, direct contact would be the only way to ascertain such details, but with extreme caution advised due to the nature of the customer feedback provided.

When considering legal representation in Nebraska, particularly for residents in the Omaha area, the suitability of a law firm hinges on trust, communication, and effective advocacy. The core functions of an attorney—to represent a client's best interests, communicate effectively, and provide diligent legal guidance—are directly challenged by these accounts. While the firm's address in central Omaha offers a local presence, the provided client experiences suggest that geographical proximity does not translate into effective or ethical representation. For Nebraskans, the most crucial factors in choosing a lawyer are trust, clear communication, and proven advocacy. The testimonials indicate that these fundamental aspects were severely lacking. Andrea Mcchesney did not represent my case as agreed, very deceptive and not to be trusted. Highly disappointing for someone in the legal profession who is supposed to look out for their clients best interests. It was almost impossible to get in touch with her, as she did not keep phone call appointments or follow up in a timely manner. Weeks to months went by without advocacy on my case, which harmed it. Then she deceptively used a mediation in for another deceptive practice instead of mediating as per Nebraska sratutes. She manipulated the mediation time to cover up for a previous attorney, first telling me she would go after him for attorney impropriety. But instead, she collaborated with him ...and do not consult or communicate with me prior about the deception. She misled the court about her final billing statement, when she did understand a retainer had not been deducted from my bill. And her billing clerk had given me proof of that. This woman is a detriment to the reputation of what an attorney is supposed to be, when it comes to ethics, morals and values.

Unresponsive, deceptive- protected wrongdoings of my previous lawyer, avoided communication and did not tell the truth to the judge to the detriment to case. Her paralegal was impolite and in regards to my mother's case. A self-centered attorney who took the case but then was not available for several weeks. Ignored scheduled phone call appointment. Major delays and unresponsiveness throughout her "representation" time.

Would give a zero if possible. Andrea was ex's attorney during our divorce case and was completely unprofessional and unethical. She never responded to calls or messages, did not present paperwork on time, and kept filing ridiculous motions that she never won just to keep bringing in the cash. She never actually did any work on the case (besides filing frivolous motions) and eventually just quit it and gave to another attorney. In a last ditch effort before she quit, she tried to force a settlement by lying about people who would supposedly testify against me - all lies. She should be embarrassed and ashamed to be so incompetent. She's out of private practice now, not surprised!

If I could give zero stars I would. Andrea is completely unprofessional a long with her work staff. She offered me terrible advice which ended up backfiring on both of us. Not only is their communication awful but they will steal every last dollar you have from you. When our business concluded, it took several months for me to finally be given back my retainer. This was only done after I called over 20 times, left messages, emails all to which Andrea could never answer too. I will never recommend her anyone I know.
