McLeester Law Introduce

Welcome to Lawyers Near Me, your online resource for finding legal professionals in your local area. Today, we focus on McLeester Law, a law firm located at 1300 E Missouri Ave UNIT 100 in Phoenix, Arizona. McLeester Law is headed by attorney Stephanie McLeester and appears to concentrate on family law matters. The office is situated in a commercial building in a central Phoenix location, likely providing a standard professional environment for client meetings and consultations.

Based on the available reviews, it's important for potential clients to consider a range of perspectives when evaluating McLeester Law for their family law needs. The feedback presents a somewhat varied picture of the firm's services and client interactions. One reviewer describes Stephanie McLeester as a "talented and hard working Family Law attorney," highlighting her ability to handle both complex, long-term litigation and practical resolutions. This client appreciated her direct communication style, noting that she provides honest information and reminds clients of potential outcomes, both positive and negative, recommending her highly.

However, other reviews offer a more critical perspective. One client described Stephanie McLeester as an "okay attorney," suggesting she might be suitable for agreeable parties but perhaps less so for high-conflict cases. This reviewer raised a significant concern regarding how their income was reported during their divorce proceedings, stating that they disagreed with the attorney's approach, which they believe led to confusion for the judge and the use of inflated income figures. This client also mentioned instances where they felt Stephanie was "short" with them and did not handle questions or constructive criticism well.

Another detailed review outlined several negative experiences. This client, a disabled father of two going through a difficult divorce, reported instances of feeling that Stephanie was "short and rude" when they had questions about her methods. They also described a situation where, after Stephanie left her previous firm to start McLeester Law, they were asked to pay an additional retainer despite having already paid nearly $80,000 to the previous firm and having limited ongoing legal work at that time. The client alleged that they were threatened with being dropped if they did not pay the new retainer.

Furthermore, this reviewer expressed surprise at receiving a large, allegedly unauthorized and unexplained bill shortly after paying the new retainer, which included administrative charges for setting them up as a new client at McLeester Law. The client felt that Stephanie was not transparent about these charges beforehand. When the client inquired about the fees, they claimed that Stephanie abruptly informed them she was dropping them as a client, describing this action as "very unprofessional" and "uncaring." This reviewer also mentioned Stephanie's alleged negative comments about other attorneys and advised potential clients to interview multiple attorneys before making a hiring decision.

Stephanie is an okay attorney. Definitely not the best but good enough for agreeable parties I would say. My case was very high conflict. I think overall she did an okay job. However, one of the greatest errors I believe she made which she argued with me about was how we reported my income. It was confusing to me and I felt strongly that we needed to report my actual income and not numbers that were higher than my actual income. She assured me that this was the best way to proceed. Unfortunately it was confusing for the judge as well and he used numbers that were much higher than my actual income. I'm disabled. I'm trying to get disability. I've worked as a realtor for the last 12 years but the market has been tough and so is dealing with my chronic health issues. There were quite a few times when I felt like Stephanie was very short with me and didn't handle questions or constructive criticisms very well. I tried to be as objective as possible but It didn't matter. She would always be short and rude with me anytime I had questions regarding her methods. My divorce was finalized a couple months before Stephanie left her previous law firm but there was still some small interminglings going on and since there's an order of protection between my ex and I, I needed her to further communicate with the other side on some things. I always paid my bills on time, every time, to the tune of nearly $80,000. Before we went to trial they asked me to renew my retainer which I did. However, when Stephanie left to start her own firm, she asked for another retainer. Since we didn't have any business going on it just didn't seem necessary but she then threatened to drop me as a client if I did not pay her the $500 retainer. I paid the $500 and shortly thereafter I got a bill with a bunch of charges that we're not authorized or explained. Including administrative charges for setting me up as a new client at her firm. She tried to explain it by stating that this is a very common practice and I should not be surprised. What would have been a lot better as if she just let me know that there was going to be charges for me switching firms and being set up as a new client with her new firm. But nope, she decided It would be better to gaslight me and make me feel bad for what she did that was wrong. I was surprised to see the large bill that came after I paid the $500 retainer. She billed for nearly that entire amount & all I knew was that she responded to a couple of emails. Couldn't have been more than 30 minutes worth of work & that's being generous. I asked if I could view the bill She told me she had already sent it to me. I found it & I had a couple questions about some of the fees on there. Her reply to my questions was that I'm dropping you as a client... Very unprofessional. Very uncaring. I'm a disabled father of two who's had a really tough time and she pushed me around at the end of our relationship just to steal 500 bucks from me. It was really petty and sad. She used to talk a lot of trash about other attorneys and talk herself up a lot. I honestly feel like there are better ones out there. My advice is to interview as many as you possibly can and then make a decision. I didn't interview anyone. The first guy I hired was absolutely terrible and Stephanie confirmed this by stating that she was working another case against him and that she won. I found Stephanie online and if you ever been in an appointment with an attorney, you know that either it's a quick call and you have to make a quick decision or you have to spend money and you feel like since you've already spent the money you don't want to spend any more money on any more consults because it'll just be money lost. I'm going to tell any man out there who's getting a divorce that it's s money well spent. Interview at least three attorneys and then make your choice. These decisions will affect you for the rest of your life.

Stephanie is an outstanding family lawyer! took care of me and my daughter throughout the difficult transition of divorce while I was home selling, relocating, etc. The thing I loved most was she sent me all the docs I would need to further the proceedings i’d just fill them out and send them back. To add to that it felt like the ball was always in our court, it was a lot of waiting from the opposing counsel to get their docs that Stephanie would request and definitely kept the squeeze on the opposition to make sure it was wrapped up in a timely manner. her paralegal at the time Vanessa was great as-well in keeping me updated, and always pushing the case forward one way or another. 10 out of 10

She is responsive and has kept me informed. Additionally she utilizes her resources to assist in gathering information and provide guidance allowing me to make a informed decisions. She has maintained regular communication always making herself available when requested. She has handled the opposing counsel with a level of professionalism that demonstrates her experience and ability to uniquely evaluate each situation. Her ability to not only provide the support and guidance I need but to act as my representative in my case has allotted me ease of mind and ability to continue to have a balanced life. I am grateful I found her.

Stephanie was an amazing attorney. I am a father, and very green to family law to say the least though I know how things usually go. My situation was incredibly toxic, and Stephanie did a great job at helping me with expectations, as well guiding me through the courts and presenting my case properly for a far better than expected outcome. She's no BS, so if you're screwed, you'll hear it so bring your grown up pants. If you're honest and genuine, she's the right kind of help for a family law situation.
