I really had a difficult experience with MMG Law. What type of RE Closing Attorney issues Commission Check directly to an agent? I was dumbfounded. Second, I returned two checks (one issued directly to a referral agent from my brokerage and the other issued to my brokerage). Instead of issuing one check with a combined total amount, they issued only the first check. Isn't that unsmart? I had to call them, email them, and deal with unhelpful staff (who could be better at handling disappointed clients). Madison Gunn from Midtown office never responded to my email. My brokerage held up distribution until full amount was recovered. Closing was on April 24, 2024. Finally I am here at Gwinnett office and thanks to Misty & Amy Blizzard, I finally got the second check. I will rethink using MMG as my preferred Closing Attorney in the future. I would rather go to O'Kelley & Sorohan. I am so busy with clients and deals and the amount of time and unecessary hassles I had to go through for these simple commission checks are NOT worth.

McMichael and Gray, P.C. operates within the realm of real estate law, primarily focusing on residential and commercial real estate closings. As a closing attorney, their core service involves facilitating the legal transfer of property ownership from seller to buyer. This encompasses a wide array of tasks crucial to a smooth and legally sound transaction. These services typically include conducting title examinations to ensure clear property titles, preparing all necessary legal documents such as deeds and settlement statements, coordinating with lenders and other involved parties like real estate agents, managing escrow accounts for funds, and ultimately overseeing the final closing meeting where ownership is officially transferred.
The firm's physical presence at their Amsterdam Avenue NE address suggests a professional office environment. While specific details about the ambiance and facilities are not publicly available, one can generally expect a law firm to maintain a setting conducive to client meetings, document processing, and legal work. Accessibility to their office in the Midtown area of Atlanta could be a significant factor for local residents seeking in-person consultations or closing appointments.
Based on the limited customer reviews available, it's important to present a balanced perspective. One review from 2024 expresses significant dissatisfaction with the firm's handling of commission checks for real estate agents. The reviewer details issues with separate checks being issued instead of a combined payment, leading to delays and the need for extensive follow-up with staff who were perceived as unhelpful. The reviewer specifically mentions a lack of response from the Midtown office and ultimately had to resolve the issue at the Gwinnett office, praising the assistance received from Misty and Amy Blizzard there. This negative experience highlights potential challenges in their administrative processes, particularly concerning agent commissions, and suggests inconsistencies in service quality across different office locations.
Conversely, another review from 2021 offers a positive account of their experience with McMichael and Gray, P.C. This customer, who closed a property during the challenging period of 2020-2021, commended the firm for their communication and emphasis on trust. They felt that the firm was accommodating and worked around their family's comfort levels during a period of uncertainty. This positive feedback suggests that McMichael and Gray, P.C. is capable of providing excellent service, particularly in terms of client communication and building trust during real estate transactions.
Considering these contrasting experiences, potential clients should be aware that service quality might vary. While some clients have found their services commendable, particularly regarding communication and navigating complex situations, others have encountered significant administrative issues and communication challenges. It would be prudent for prospective clients to inquire specifically about the processes involved in their particular transaction, especially concerning the handling of funds and communication protocols.
As a local firm operating in the Atlanta metropolitan area, McMichael and Gray, P.C. likely possesses familiarity with the local real estate market, regulations, and practices. This local expertise can be a valuable asset for clients navigating the specific nuances of real estate transactions in Georgia. Their presence across multiple locations, as indicated by the mention of Midtown and Gwinnett offices in the reviews, suggests a broader reach within the Atlanta area, potentially offering convenience for clients in different parts of the city and its suburbs.
In terms of features, a real estate law firm like McMichael and Gray, P.C. typically offers the crucial service of ensuring legal compliance and protecting the interests of their clients during property transactions. This includes identifying and resolving any title issues that could cloud ownership, ensuring all legal documents are correctly prepared and executed, and providing legal guidance throughout the closing process. The ability to work with both residential and commercial properties indicates a broader scope of expertise within the real estate sector.
Promotional information is not explicitly available in the provided data. However, law firms often build their reputation through word-of-mouth, online directories (like Lawyers Near Me), and referrals from real estate agents and other professionals in the industry. Their continued operation suggests a sustained presence and ongoing engagement within the Atlanta real estate market.
For local users seeking a real estate closing attorney through Lawyers Near Me, McMichael and Gray, P.C. presents a firm with experience in the Atlanta market. However, the available customer feedback suggests a need for careful consideration. While one client praised their communication and service, another reported significant issues with administrative processes and responsiveness. Potential clients are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence, perhaps by seeking additional reviews or contacting the firm directly to discuss their specific needs and concerns. Inquiring about their processes for handling funds, communication protocols, and the experience of the specific attorney who would be handling their case could be particularly beneficial.
Ultimately, choosing the right real estate attorney is a critical decision in any property transaction. While McMichael and Gray, P.C. has a local presence and offers essential closing services, prospective clients should weigh the available feedback and their own priorities to determine if the firm aligns with their specific requirements and expectations for a smooth and efficient real estate closing experience in the Atlanta area.

Apr 30, 2024 · Bishwa AngdembeWe closed a property in 2021 at this firm and they did an amazing job. I felt like communication and trust were very important to them. With all the craziness of 2020 and 2021, I believe they tried to work around what me and my family were comfortable with. We will be using them as our closing attorneys moving forward.
