Someone watching for “loops holes” and tying them shut, saving me from any possible future havoc,…was a great salve. I will recommend her to anyone i come across who has a need. She is professional, but importantly, personal. She is one of the good ones! Dani, the paralegal was also a joy. She treats you with gentle awareness and is very informative. Helping you feel you can know what’s going on, and how to go out and meet it. She is efficient, detailed, and quick at her job. And her communication is timely and not lagging. Mar 20, 2025 · Maven FordUnprofessional & Dismissive – Do Not Recommend Response to Manager modern family- There are multiple reviews on yelp sharing the same experiences to mine, so I’m not sure how this could be considered inaccurate. I have emails and billing records to support what I shared. My review reflects my personal experience, and I stand by it. April 16th- UPDATE Single mom in legal fight -- Unfair practices, left firm, charges without clear communication: I left this firm at the beginning of April due to unfair treatment. I posted a review about my experience with this firm a week ago, and they tried to deny it -- even though I have proof in the form of emails. Today, April 16th, I was charged and received a bill for unknown reasons. I am unable to contact the firm to dispute these charges because they have my number blocked at both of their locations: Colorado Springs and Denver. I tried again today. I had clearly told Johanna and her supervisor that I was leaving the firm march 31st to be exact and wanted her removed from my case by April 2nd. She was rude and dismissive, and I was charged for things I didn't ask for, didn't need, or never received. When I reached out with a legal question, she didn't help or send the information I needed. I ended up getting the answer from a different law firm -- for free -- yet I was still charged by this firm. I'm now with a different law firm that is respectful and organized. There are certain things that should be charged for, but other things we should not have been charged for that I DID NOT CONSENT -- and this firm continues to charge without clear communication or proper follow-up. I am a single mom fighting to get my kids back, and this is how I was treated and STILL after leaving. I have reported them due to these ongoing inappropriate practices and lack of accountability. A week ago- My experience with Modern Family Law was deeply disappointing. Johanna, who took over my case after my previous attorney left the firm and we were there since Oct 2024, we left the firm yesterday, last day, didn’t take the time to understand my case. She was too busy to meet with me and dismissed my requests for phone calls, saying “they don’t do phone calls at her level of experience because they work faster.” Despite not properly understanding my situation, she proceeded to write letters as if she did, and I was still charged for it. I spent over $30,000 with this firm, Johanna did not help when I needed it most. She refused to send me important court documents I requested 2-3 times but sent me documents I didn’t ask for or need anymore because we were preparing to withdraw from the firm. Instead of addressing my concerns, she brushed it off and got a bill and withdrawal papers but never provided the court documents I asked for. I was treated as if I was incompetent whenever I asked questions, and instead of providing clarity, they repeatedly told me I could find a different attorney or switch firms if I was unhappy. I had told both Craig and Johanna that I shouldn’t have to feel like I can’t ask questions or that I need to leave the firm for wanting answers, but they showed no concern. To make matters worse, all of a sudden, my number won’t go through to either the Springs or Denver office now when I try to contact the billing department to remove my credit card information from my account because of their behavior. This firm is all about money, overcharging for their lack of service. If they try to dispute this, I have emails to prove it. Do NOT go to Modern Family Law if you have a serious case—they don’t take the time to understand their clients, and their unprofessionalism could cost you more than just money.

Definitely let me know what to expect and guide me in things I could do to better the outcome. Johanna Hendley took over my case and got me through the finish line. Lots of phone conversations during the negotiation part of it, always keep me up to date. Even though it was stressful she really put my mind at ease, and worked hard to get the outcome we were hoping for. Also a special thanks to my Paralegal Dani Jorgensen, I would text her a lot early in the am and on the weekends with questions and concerns and she would always answer promptly. This definitely helped keep the cost down for me. It was a tough year but I am very happy with the outcome of my divorce. Thanks for all your hard work.
