This home has caused my family memo several beds in several different places and also Stacey Taylor has also refused my family member medical treatment and she is the head administrator. The staff has been asked by my family members insurance company to send a referral over to another home and they take there time so my family member ends up stuck in this home. I have found them beds back in Florida and they are taking there sweet time to send anything out. And to the head administrator has said if a patient has any type of head injury she has made it clear that it is not mandatory to send them out to be checked at all. And that was said to me and the APS on Monday November 28th.

Welcome to Lawyers Near Me, your platform for finding legal and advocacy resources in your local area. Today, we introduce you to the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, located at 8004 Franklin Farms Dr, Richmond, VA 23229, USA. The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman program is a vital resource dedicated to advocating for the rights and quality of care for residents in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other adult care homes. While not a traditional law firm providing direct legal representation in all matters, the Ombudsman's office plays a crucial role in addressing complaints and concerns on behalf of long-term care residents, often involving legal and regulatory aspects of their care.

The environment of the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman is likely a professional office setting where staff members work to receive and address complaints, conduct investigations, and advocate for residents' rights. While the provided information does not describe the office ambiance, it is reasonable to expect a setting conducive to communication, record-keeping, and advocacy work. The focus of this office is not on client meetings in the traditional legal sense but rather on receiving and processing information related to the well-being of long-term care residents. For local users of Lawyers Near Me who have concerns about the care of a loved one in a long-term care facility, the Ombudsman's office provides a direct point of contact for raising these issues.

The primary service of the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman is to investigate and resolve complaints made by or on behalf of residents of long-term care facilities. These complaints can encompass a wide range of issues, including quality of care, residents' rights, abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and improper discharge or transfer. The Ombudsman acts as an impartial advocate, working to ensure that residents' concerns are heard, and appropriate action is taken to address them. While they do not provide direct legal representation in court, their work often involves interpreting and applying laws and regulations related to long-term care. They can also provide information and education to residents, their families, and facility staff about residents' rights and long-term care policies. For users of Lawyers Near Me who are navigating the complexities of long-term care and have concerns about the treatment of a resident, the Ombudsman's office offers a crucial advocacy service.

A key feature of the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman is its independence and impartiality. The Ombudsman program is typically mandated by federal law and operates independently of long-term care facilities and state licensing agencies. This independence allows them to advocate solely for the best interests of the residents. Another important feature is their confidentiality; the Ombudsman is generally required to maintain the confidentiality of complainants and residents. Their services are free and accessible to all residents of long-term care facilities, regardless of their financial status. The Ombudsman also plays a systemic advocacy role, working to identify and address broader issues within the long-term care system to improve the quality of care for all residents. For local users of Lawyers Near Me, this independent and confidential advocacy is a significant feature when seeking assistance with sensitive long-term care concerns.

The single customer review provided offers a concerning perspective on a specific long-term care home and mentions an administrator, Stacey Taylor, and issues related to medical treatment and referrals. It is crucial to understand that this review appears to be directed at a specific long-term care facility and not at the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman itself. The individual who posted this review seems to be describing their experience with a particular care home and alleging serious issues regarding medical treatment refusal and delays in the referral process. This highlights the very type of situation where contacting the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman would be appropriate. The Ombudsman's office is the entity that can investigate such complaints and work to ensure the rights and well-being of the resident are protected. Therefore, while this review does not speak to the Ombudsman's services directly, it underscores the importance of the Ombudsman's role in addressing concerns within long-term care facilities.

As the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman is a public service agency, it typically does not offer promotional information in the same way a private law firm might. Their focus is on providing free and impartial advocacy for long-term care residents. Their "promotion" is essentially their mandate to serve and protect the rights of this vulnerable population. For users of Lawyers Near Me who are seeking assistance for themselves or a loved one in long-term care, the availability of this free, independent advocacy service is a significant benefit. The contact information provided – phone numbers (800) 552-3402 and +1 800-552-3402 – allows direct access to this crucial resource.
