When I type Stephen Hale into Google, this is the firm that shows up so I'll be reviewing based on my experience with him. He is absolutely one of the worst human beings I've ever had the displeasure of knowing. He was assigned to our case as a GAL and was recommended by Frye and Elder (wouldn't recommend them either). Not only did this man openly and subjectively trash my ex and I to people he was interviewing about us, all of whom wrote witness statements about his disparaging remarks, he also openly aligned himself with my ex during our divorce and, last minute - sided with my attorney on the day of the trial. He spoke with my oldest two times during his appointment as our GAL over the 4 year divorce; once in the beginning and then once a couple weeks before the trial years later. None of his recommendations were objective or fair and I was threatened that his say could cost me my kids constantly. I recently put a post out on FB requesting recommendations for GALs and an acquaintance replied about her traumatizing experience with her GAL - and it sounded so familiar to mine; turns out she also had Stephen Hale. She's also not the only mother who's mentioned difficulties with him. It's my belief that Stephen Hale is sexist, hates women, and uses his position as a GAL to exert control and abuse women. Please please please reconsider giving this man any authority over your case or your family's well being.
Family law matters are among the most sensitive and impactful legal issues individuals can face. Whether it involves the dissolution of a marriage, determining child custody arrangements, or establishing fair financial support, these situations profoundly affect personal lives and futures. For residents across Oklahoma, understanding the state's specific family laws and finding reliable legal guidance is paramount during these challenging times. While various law firms specialize in family law, it's crucial to approach these decisions with thorough research and consideration.
Oklahoma's family law framework is designed to address a wide range of domestic legal issues, from the initial filing of a divorce petition to complex post-decree modifications. The state operates under principles of "equitable distribution" for marital assets, meaning that property is divided fairly, though not necessarily equally. Child custody decisions are always made based on the "best interests of the child," a standard that takes into account numerous factors beyond just parental preferences. Navigating these legal waters requires not only a deep understanding of the statutes but also a compassionate approach to the often-emotional nature of family disputes.
Given the deeply personal nature of family law, the choice of legal representation is critical. It's important to seek an attorney or firm that prioritizes clear communication, ethical conduct, and a steadfast commitment to their clients' well-being. Locals in Oklahoma have a range of options when it comes to legal assistance in family law matters, from large firms to solo practitioners, each with their own unique approach and areas of focus.
