They switched attorney's at the middle of getting things started with no explanation nor courtesy email or call from current attorney. First attorney didn’t show up for the first court date which gave the other party time to do shady stuff. Weak attorneys that act strong but in court they back down and visibly turn red so no confidence. Then we sent emails and calls saying we can’t afford you for trial and they acknowledged the email. They still continued accumulating 10K in fees we that we already told them and they acknowledged in email for the trial we couldn’t afford. Now 12K in fees THEN OF COURSE THEY DONT COME TO TRIAL BECAUSE THEYRE NOT PAID! Now they want to send it to collections. This place is a money grab and we have emails to prove it. Left with less rights than we started. We will be reporting to the BAR and about the other party’s attorneys unethical practices that were ignored by our attorney.

Pacific Cascade Legal Introduce

For individuals in Portland, Oregon, seeking legal assistance and searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, Pacific Cascade Legal, located at 9320 SW Barbur Blvd # 160, Portland, OR 97219, USA, is one of the options available. They can be contacted at (503) 573-5566 or via mobile at +1 503-573-5566. It is crucial for potential clients to thoroughly research and consider the experiences of others when selecting legal representation.

When browsing "Lawyers Near Me," individuals look for reliable and effective legal counsel. The available customer reviews for Pacific Cascade Legal present significant concerns regarding their service and client interactions. These reviews detail experiences that potential clients should carefully consider before engaging with this firm.

One detailed review outlines a deeply negative experience with Pacific Cascade Legal. The client alleges a lack of communication and professionalism, stating that their attorney was switched mid-process without explanation or courtesy contact from the new attorney. Furthermore, the initial attorney reportedly failed to appear for the first court date, which the client believes allowed the opposing party to engage in "shady stuff." The reviewer describes the attorneys as "weak" in court despite appearing confident initially. A significant point of contention was the accumulation of $10,000 in fees for a trial that the client had explicitly stated they could not afford and for which the firm allegedly acknowledged this inability via email. Despite this, the fees continued to accrue, eventually reaching $12,000. Subsequently, the firm did not appear for the trial due to non-payment and is now reportedly pursuing collections. The client concludes by labeling the firm a "money grab," stating they have emails to support this claim and that they were left in a worse legal position than when they started. They also indicate their intention to file complaints with the Bar regarding Pacific Cascade Legal and the opposing party's attorney's alleged unethical practices, which they claim were ignored by their own counsel.

Another client review expresses extreme disappointment with Pacific Cascade Legal. This individual paid a $3,000 retainer but claims to have received "absolutely no assistance in return." The assigned attorney, Michael Trotter, is specifically mentioned as having done "nothing at all." The reviewer recounts an initial consultation in the fall of 2024 with Luke Smith regarding their grandfather’s probate, which initially gave them confidence in the firm. However, due to a personal delay in retaining their services until the winter of 2024, the experience soured significantly.

Despite the delay in payment, the reviewer states that Pacific Cascade Legal called them relentlessly, over ten times, demanding the retainer. Once the payment was made, all communication reportedly ceased. Numerous attempts to contact the firm via phone and email allegedly yielded no response, except from the receptionist who consistently took messages that were never returned. The reviewer feels "completely scammed and robbed" of their $3,000, having received no service or support. They strongly caution others to be wary before doing business with Pacific Cascade Legal, stating that their trust was misplaced and their money was taken without any services rendered.

Given these two highly negative and detailed reviews, potential clients searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category should approach Pacific Cascade Legal with extreme caution. The issues raised include serious allegations of poor communication, lack of professionalism, failure to appear in court, questionable billing practices, and complete lack of service after payment of a retainer. These are significant red flags that warrant careful consideration and further investigation before engaging with this firm.

Information regarding the environment of Pacific Cascade Legal is not provided beyond their physical address. However, the client reviews paint a picture of a firm where communication is lacking, and clients may feel unsupported and ignored. The alleged aggressive pursuit of payment followed by a cessation of service raises concerns about the firm's client management and ethical practices.

While the specific services offered by Pacific Cascade Legal are not detailed in the reviews, one client mentioned an initial consultation regarding probate matters. This suggests that the firm may handle cases related to estate administration, and potentially other areas of law as well. However, the negative experiences reported raise serious doubts about the quality and reliability of these services.

The features highlighted by the client reviews are overwhelmingly negative. These include: poor communication, switching attorneys without explanation, attorneys not appearing for court dates, potential for accumulating unwarranted fees, failure to provide services after receiving payment, and difficulty in contacting the firm. These are not features that instill confidence in potential clients seeking legal representation.

In terms of promotional information, the provided data lacks any positive endorsements or promotional statements from the firm itself. The only information available comes from the highly critical client reviews, which serve as a stark warning rather than a promotion. Potential clients would need to seek information from other sources to gain a more balanced perspective, although the severity and detail of the negative feedback are significant.

For local users in Portland searching for "Lawyers Near Me," it is strongly recommended that they carefully consider the negative experiences reported by previous clients of Pacific Cascade Legal. The allegations of unprofessional conduct, poor communication, and failure to provide services are serious and should not be ignored. Potential clients should conduct thorough due diligence, including seeking reviews from multiple sources and potentially consulting with other attorneys before making a decision.

The decision to hire a lawyer is a significant one, and it is essential to choose a firm that is not only competent but also communicative, reliable, and ethical. The information available regarding Pacific Cascade Legal raises significant concerns in these areas. Potential clients should prioritize firms with a strong track record of positive client experiences and a reputation for professionalism and integrity.

I am extremely disappointed with Pacific Cascade Legal. I paid a $3,000 retainer for their services and received absolutely no assistance in return. My assigned attorney, Michael Trotter, did nothing at all. I initially had a consultation in the fall of 2024 with Luke Smith regarding my grandfather’s probate, and after the conversation, I was convinced that this firm could help me. However, due to some personal issues, I was unable to retain them until the winter of 2024. Despite the delay, Pacific Cascade Legal relentlessly called me over 10 times asking for my retainer payment. Once I finally paid, the communication stopped completely. I made numerous attempts to contact them via phone and email, but the only response I received was from the woman who answered the phone. She had a thick Hispanic accent and repeatedly told me to leave my name and number for a call back — which never happened. Now, I am out $3,000, with no service or support. I feel completely scammed and robbed by this firm. I trusted them, and they took my money without delivering anything. Please be cautious before doing business with them.

Not a good experience. My first issue was when I was "sold" by one lawyer to get me to pay my deposit and start the work. I told him my whole story, but then had to tell a different lawyer my story to get the paper work going. Which they charged me for. Then after I asked them to stop working on Jan. 8, I was told I needed to wait 30 days to get my my remaining deposit back. It's been over 40 days now and now check. Plus their admin team has yet to respond to me email 5 days ago asking why they haven't met their own goals for a refund. Now I'm waiting to see how much they charge me to give me my money back. Edit: I finally got my refund with no explanation for how much was given back. Then canned to understand. I would recommend using a different firm solely based on how I was treated during that phone call.

I don’t like to write bad reviews, I always think that people make mistakes and they can do better but Working with Pacific Cascade legal was the most horrible experience I ever had and I don’t recommend them to anyone. Just thinking about what I went through a year ago, makes me anxious, I paid over $12,000 and I didn’t get any support. Read you contract and ask about a daily bill, not even a weekly.

I have never met with such an amateur attorney. Initially they have some powerhouse attorney get on the phone and ease all of your nerves to earn your business. Then they assign you someone who is clearly working one of their first cases.. The paperwork that my attorney submitted was nothing short of embarrassing. This was about my children's safety and I couldn't have been more let down by pacific cascade legal. THE ENTIRE TEAM failed me and my kids. I ended up having to get involved personally with the other sides attorney, and the grandparents. This was a open and closed case. The kids were safe with me. Somehow Pacific Cascade Legal managed to take something that should have been finished in two weeks, and milk it for tens of thousands of dollars. I ended up forcing them to finish it up. They tried to get custody evaluators involved (thousands $$$) They tried to have me get attorneys for my children (thousands$$$) They billed for so many unnecessary hours that I would never recommend them to anyone. It was like I was working with a legal student. I CLOSED MY CASE. THEY DID NOTHING EXCEPT RECOMMEND GIVING THE OTHER SIDE MORE AND MORE. In the end, after I fired them, they attempted to keep working for 2 weeks and try to bill me for it. They constantly hound you about money even though the account is still in the agreed upon balance.. I could go on for days. I figured it would let it go, but they keep spamming me about estate planning or to write them good reviews?! Heck no! With the thousands of attorneys in Oregon/Washington, I would pick a much smaller firm that views you as a person and not a number. In the end they did nothing but provide stress for my family, and steal from our modest budget. Yes, I have my kids, but I feel like they actively tried to add stress to my children's lives for their own personal gain. Pretty Evil.
