Maybe I caught him on the wrong day, but I was very disappointed. Prior to me coming to his office, I advised him that I couldn't afford him so as to not waste our time, I declined to come. He then advised to come on up and he would discuss some options on payment. Needless to say, it was just for me to figure it out since it should be important to me. So I paid, and as I was telling him about my situation, he was falling asleep on me. Can you believe that!! So he takes my money, falls asleep on me and he doesn't even own up to it. I emailed him about his actions and of course....no response. Waste of time and money. Very Dissapointed!!! What makes it worse is that he is a veteran just like me. He should know that $300 is a lot to give with no return.

Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law, is presented as one such legal professional serving the Dallas, Texas, area. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the firm and its associated attorney, based on the provided information, including its location, contact details, and publicly available client feedback.

Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law, is situated at 3316 Oak Grove Ave #200, Dallas, TX 75204, USA. This address places the firm in a well-regarded area of Dallas, often characterized by a mix of professional offices and residential spaces. The specific suite number (#200) within the building suggests a dedicated office space, typical for a legal practice. While detailed descriptions of the interior environment, such as the waiting area's ambiance or the consultation rooms' setup, are not provided, it can be presumed that a professional and private setting is maintained. Such an environment is crucial for confidential client discussions, especially given the sensitive nature of legal issues. The location on Oak Grove Avenue implies good accessibility for clients within Dallas, potentially offering a more serene setting compared to bustling downtown areas. For direct communication, the firm can be reached at (214) 416-9103 or via mobile at +1 214-416-9103, providing clear channels for prospective clients to initiate contact and inquire about services.

Regarding the services offered by Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law, the title "Judge Advocate" strongly suggests a specialization in military law. A Judge Advocate is a legal officer in the armed forces, indicating a background and likely ongoing expertise in military justice, administrative law pertaining to the military, and legal issues affecting service members, veterans, and their families. This could encompass a range of services such as:

  • Military Criminal Defense: Representing service members facing courts-martial or other disciplinary actions.
  • Administrative Separation Boards: Assisting service members facing involuntary discharge from the military.
  • Security Clearance Issues: Advising on and appealing denials or revocations of security clearances.
  • Veteran's Benefits and Appeals: Helping veterans navigate the complex system of benefits and appealing unfavorable decisions from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Correction of Military Records: Assisting service members in correcting errors or injustices in their military records.
  • General Legal Counsel for Military Personnel/Veterans: Providing advice on a variety of legal issues that are unique to military life.

While the firm's name indicates a specialization as a "Judge Advocate," the broader term "Attorney at Law" also suggests that Patrick J. McLain may handle other areas of law relevant to the general public, possibly including criminal defense or civil litigation, particularly if they intersect with military-related issues. However, without further explicit details on other practice areas, the primary focus can be inferred to be on military law and veteran affairs.

The "Lawyers Near Me" category is highly relevant for individuals seeking legal assistance in Dallas, particularly those with a military background who may be looking for an attorney with specialized knowledge in military law. A local presence allows for direct consultations and builds a more personalized attorney-client relationship.

The features that distinguish Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law, based on the provided information, include:

  • Specialized Military Law Expertise: The title "Judge Advocate" signifies a unique background and in-depth knowledge of military legal systems, regulations, and challenges, which is a rare specialization among civilian attorneys. This expertise is invaluable for service members and veterans.
  • Accessibility: Located in Dallas, the firm is accessible to veterans and military personnel in the broader Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex who may require specialized legal assistance without having to travel extensively.
  • Potential for Compassionate Understanding (as a Veteran): One of the reviews mentions the attorney being a "veteran just like me." While this context was used in a negative review, it implies a shared understanding of military experience, which can be a valuable feature for veteran clients seeking an attorney who truly comprehends their unique circumstances.

However, it is crucial to address the provided customer reviews, as they present a mixed and critical perspective on the firm's client experience. Online reviews are a significant component of a firm's public image, especially for those searching under "Lawyers Near Me."

  • Negative Review - Disappointment and Allegations of Unprofessionalism: One client expressed "very disappointed" with their experience. Key concerns include:
    • Misleading Payment Options: The client claims to have been told payment options would be discussed, but then felt pressured to pay the full fee without viable alternatives.
    • Falling Asleep During Consultation: A serious accusation is made that the attorney "was falling asleep on me" during a crucial consultation, which is a significant breach of professional conduct and client trust.
    • Lack of Accountability/Responsiveness: The client states the attorney "doesn't even own up to it" and provided "no response" to an email addressing the issue.
    • Financial Impact: The client highlights the loss of $300 "with no return," emphasizing the financial disappointment.
  • Positive Review - Straightforward and Helpful: In contrast, another review, specifically mentioning "Mike" (who may be an associate or another individual at the firm), describes the experience as "Very straightforward, honest and confident." This reviewer states "Mike is who I consulted with, he saved me time and money, I'm glad I called them." This positive feedback suggests that other individuals within the firm may offer a different client experience or that some clients have positive interactions.

Promotional information for Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law, in light of these mixed reviews, would ideally strive to balance highlighting expertise with addressing client service. However, relying solely on the provided data, a generalized promotion for a "Lawyers Near Me" listing might focus on their specific niche:

  • "Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law: Expert Military Law Counsel in Dallas."
  • "Your Trusted Legal Advocate for Veteran and Military Legal Matters in Dallas, TX."
  • "Serving Those Who Served: Specialized Military Law Representation in Dallas."
  • "Experienced Legal Support for Service Members and Veterans in Dallas."

Any promotional material would need to carefully navigate the existing public feedback to maintain objectivity, or address it directly. The contrasting reviews make it challenging to provide a singular positive promotional message without acknowledging the reported negative experience.

In conclusion, Patrick J. McLain, Judge Advocate and Attorney at Law, is a legal practice located at 3316 Oak Grove Ave #200, Dallas, TX 75204, USA. The firm's name suggests a primary focus on military law and veteran-related legal issues, indicating a specialized area of expertise. Contact can be made via phone at (214) 416-9103 or +1 214-416-9103. While one review praises the straightforward and helpful nature of a consultant named Mike, another highly critical review raises significant concerns about the principal attorney, Patrick J. McLain, specifically alleging unprofessional conduct (falling asleep during a consultation), lack of responsiveness, and misleading information regarding payment. For users searching "Lawyers Near Me," it is essential to consider both the stated specialization and the varying client experiences reflected in the public online reviews when evaluating this firm for legal representation.
