Joel Brown and his firm has represented me back in 2017 and again 2025. I called 4 firms. In the beginning our relationship started based on after hour weekend phone call in 2017. He didn't charge me for consultation. If anything he took my case very personal. Again I needed him this year 2025 and again on a weekend after hours... Joel called me personally and just few words he remembered my case and was in disbelief that it was still going... Again Joel didn't charge me a consultation, he did everything in his power to help me... Now I have time with my son. Joel is very fair in price and STRAIGHT FORWARD. He didn't charge me not a dollar more...I know courts take time Joel was able to fit us in quickly as possible. He was able to contact my attorney in Florida, and they were able to work together... My case is very complicated and sensitive, Joel is very knowledgeable and is capable of handling it. Joel was very patient with me and understood my frustration. He explained everything to me and prepared me and when I didn't understand he dumb it down for me. He is my attorney for ever in Illinois and I know I can count on him and his firm to answer the phone and emails when I need him no matter what day it is.

Based on the limited customer reviews available online, the experiences with Reeder & Brown, P.C., and specifically with attorney Joel Brown, appear to be varied. One client shared a highly positive experience, spanning several years and multiple instances where they sought legal assistance. This client highlighted Mr. Brown's willingness to take an after-hours weekend phone call for an initial consultation without charge, both in 2017 and again in 2025. This suggests a client-focused approach and a willingness to go the extra mile, even from the outset. However, a contrasting review presents a significantly negative experience, albeit from the perspective of someone who witnessed Mr. Brown's representation of their son and ultimately saw him get "fired." This reviewer gave a one-star rating and described Mr. Brown as "pathetic" and "weak," alleging that he did not fight for his client and instead deferred to opposing counsel. The review further claims that Mr. Brown did not provide adequate advice, was disrespectful by talking over and cursing at his client (even in the courtroom), and was reluctant to go to trial. Despite this reluctance, the reviewer states that their son's decision to proceed with a trial on part of the case proved correct, leading to a favorable outcome, which Mr. Brown allegedly bragged about while admitting his initial hesitation. This review strongly advises potential clients seeking a fighting attorney to look elsewhere.

Mar 21, 2025 · NEMIRunnnnn. 1 star because I had to select something. He's (Joel) is not my lawyer, but I witnessed all this as he WAS my sons representation until getting fired!!!! Pathetic. I don't know what simple cases he's getting any good reviews on, but he's a weak individual and doesn't fight at all, just bows down to the opposing attorneys. Doesn't advise on what is needed. Disrespectful by talking over and cursing to his client... even in the courtroom. He doesn't want to fight for his client. On my sons recommendation, they went to trial for part of this horrible case, Joel definitely didn't want to, and oh, guess what, my son was right and that event went his way and Joel bragged but did admit that he was glad that he took my sons advice and followed thru. There is plenty more, but if you need a lawyer that will fight for you, keep looking.
Apr 25, 2025 · Gloria TrevinoI recently retained Attorney Joel Brown. Not only did he travel over an hour for my case, he was one of the most compassionate and professional Attorneys I have worked with. He kept me informed on the process and listened to each of my concerns. I never had to worry. His expert knowledge and experience resulted in the dismissal of my case. I have since referred him on other matters. I highly recommend and will use for future matters.
Feb 27, 2025 · Tifanni SterdivantHas no clue about trauma response from domestic abuse even told me he didn't care about my abuse or that I am disabled. Called me a liar Said he didn't believe anything I said I wouldn't take a client like me. I exaggerated on how Many times I did something but admitted it was an exaggeration because I did it so many times still called me a liar. So after the consultation of horrors I sent them all the paperwork proving I'm not a liar of course he's not going to respond. He told me I didn't have the emails or anything else and that I just was a liar and he was not going to believe me, But I now emailed him all the paperwork that he said I lied about. So who looks bad now not me. He even went so far As to tell me I shouldn't have listened to my lawyers and a girl up, Horrible horrible experience by somebody who knows nothing about Trauma or the truth. Don't worry I won't hold my breath waiting for an apology even though I've proven them wrong!
