Please go else where. They charged us a whole lot of nothing. The attorney in charge of our case left the firm after the strategy phone call. They charged us close to 1k for that phone call, emails, and the "work" our legal team had to do. Keep in mind, they didn't have our records yet cause we had to sign for them to be our official lawyers. We paid 5,000 for the retainer fee and got back 4,987. We don't know what they charged either. Please do your research because they will milk that 5k retainer. They did a great job in reeling us in. Making sure we felt we were in good hands, but in reality they were reaching for our pockets.

Reel Fathers Rights APC Introduce

In California, family law matters, particularly those involving child custody, support, and visitation, can be emotionally charged and legally intricate. While state law aims for gender neutrality, many fathers often feel that the system does not adequately represent their interests or their fundamental right to be actively involved in their children's lives. Navigating these complex legal waters requires not only a deep understanding of California's Family Code but also a strategic approach to ensure that a father's parental rights are recognized and upheld. For individuals in California, especially in the Long Beach area, who are seeking to assert their rights as fathers, specialized legal guidance is paramount.

The concept of "fathers' rights" in California family law is built upon the principle that both parents, regardless of gender or marital status, have equal rights and responsibilities concerning their children. California Family Code prioritizes the child's best interests in all custody decisions. This means courts aim for outcomes that ensure the child has frequent and continuing contact with both parents, unless it's determined not to be in the child's best interest. However, the practical application of these principles can sometimes present challenges for fathers. Issues such as establishing paternity, seeking fair custody and visitation schedules, challenging parental alienation, and ensuring equitable child support arrangements often require dedicated legal advocacy. While the name "Reel Fathers Rights APC" suggests a specialized focus on advocating for fathers, it's important for any local user seeking legal help to carefully consider their options and ensure the chosen legal representation aligns with their specific needs and expectations.

For individuals in California seeking legal assistance with family law matters, particularly those concerning fathers' rights, the location and accessibility of legal counsel are practical considerations. When considering legal representation, understanding a firm's approach and client experiences can be highly informative. Based on available public reviews, here are some points to consider regarding Reel Fathers Rights APC:

Features / Highlights (as perceived by some past clients):

  • Stated Specialization in Fathers' Rights: The firm's name and stated mission indicate a focus on advocating for men and fathers in family court, which might be appealing to fathers seeking dedicated representation in this area.
  • Initial Focus on Client Reassurance: Some clients noted that the firm initially created a feeling of being "in good hands," which can be a comforting aspect when facing stressful legal situations.

However, it is crucial to present a balanced view, drawing from other publicly available customer feedback, which also highlights significant concerns:

  • Concerns about Billing Practices: Several reviews indicate dissatisfaction with billing, citing charges for what clients perceived as minimal work or non-substantive phone calls, and high retainer fees with unclear deductions.
  • Issues with Attorney Retention and Communication: One review explicitly mentioned an attorney leaving the firm shortly after an initial strategy call, leading to disruptions and a feeling of being charged for unfulfilled services. Other reviews mention poor communication from both paralegals and attorneys.
  • Effectiveness of Representation: Some clients expressed disappointment with the firm's effectiveness, feeling "outplayed" by unrepresented parties or that the firm "did not fight for me."
  • Transparency Concerns: Reviewers felt a lack of transparency regarding how their retainer fees were being utilized and a focus on "reaching for our pockets."
  • Client Service Dissatisfaction: Feedback suggests a lack of responsiveness to client concerns, particularly when issues about dissatisfaction or billing arose, leading to clients seeking alternative counsel.

For any legal service, including those offered by Reel Fathers Rights APC, understanding the fee structure and consultation process is paramount. Based on available information, prospective clients should be aware that initial interactions may incur charges.

Promotions or Special Offers (as perceived from public information):

  • Initial Consultation: Like many law firms, Reel Fathers Rights APC offers an initial consultation. However, it is crucial to note from public reviews that some clients have reported being charged for these initial phone calls, even those seemingly brief or non-substantive. It is vital to clarify any fees associated with the initial consultation and any subsequent communication before engaging.
  • Retainer Fee Model: The firm operates on a retainer fee model. Public reviews indicate that a significant upfront retainer (e.g., $5,000) is required. Clients have expressed concerns about how quickly these retainers are depleted and the transparency of the billing that follows.

It is highly recommended that anyone considering engaging Reel Fathers Rights APC thoroughly discuss and understand all potential fees, including charges for initial calls, email correspondence, and administrative work, before providing any retainer or signing an agreement. Request a clear breakdown of hourly rates for all personnel who may work on your case, and inquire about how the retainer will be managed and accounted for. Ask for a detailed written fee agreement.

0 Stars, Absolutely Terrible Reel Fathers, Reel fathers in with their misleading name to take advantage of the emotions at play in child custody cases. I called hoping for help in my situation, hoping their name had something to stand on which I found out the hard way, that it does NOT. Everything seemed normal, until I started talking to the lawyer over the phone. I noticed him filling the call with information that had no relevance and repeating himself with that same information, to which I asked, "Am I paying for every minute of this phone call?", to which he replied, "Yes, you are." Shortly after I get a phone call from the billing department with my new invoice of $1100, which changed to $1800 after I told them I would like to cancel everything. Mind you, all that has been done to this point was a phone call to give them the retainer, a 3 minute phone call to take my information down, and the phone call with the lawyer that lasted 30 minutes. There's more, but this is long enough to give a gist of how it is to conduct business with Reel Fathers Rights APC. A mistake is a lesson learned. Thank you.

I wish I could give 0 ZERO STARS! Absolutely avoid & save your money! Thy should have told me to not mess with my case from the second I explained myself. But nope, they wanted my money asap and then their finance lady calls like a telemarketer to demand (not ask) to add more money to my account, and when I push back she threatened to remove them from representing me. I even explained this to their lady who was a care specialist and nothing changed. Then to top it off my lawyer drug his feet for over 6 months with my appeal and then acted surprised when I finally spoke to him, after they closed my case without talking to me. Avoid like the plague! So at the end, I got screwed over in court as my lawyer was not prepared, and then they just ghosted me for months, I should have used the dissomaster myself before contacting any lawyer, would have saved me so much.
