Do Not Hire this attorney if you need supportive paralegal work. This is an attorney who made me do the paralegal work, wrote pleadings that the Southern District Federal Court judge, Judge Sheindlin, shot down every time we went to court. Right before the trial, he withdrew from the case. The day of mediation he wanted to settle for less than 1/3 of what we were awarded. His reasoning was to appeal the case and that could have delayed settlement for up to 4 years. Our case was met by one of the best law firms in New York. When I asked if he had read the appendix that I labored over, he said he did not. It made him go cross eyed. My case was a perfect fraud case because there was a written contract with designated fees. Richard chose not to pursue that nor prove that even given an appendix that proved fraud and conversations that proved the over-billing was intentional. After the case was mediated and funds were released to all parties, Richard found an expense he overlooked. He sued me for this and more and took It from the Southern District Federal court where we reached a settlement to New York’s Supreme Court. My business was in Texas and had to be processed in Federal Court. He sued me for more money than his contingency fee allowed. I had to hire an attorney and the case went to the Court of appeals. Richard Pu was ordered to pay my legal fees and has not done that. The award was three years ago. If you have a case that needs a good attorney, an honest attorney, do not place a call to this attorney.

When seeking legal representation through a platform like "Lawyers Near Me," it is crucial to conduct thorough research and consider all available information to make an informed decision. This overview presents an objective introduction to Richard Pu, PC, a law firm located at 120 E 90th St #10c, New York, NY 10128, USA. While their presence on a platform listing local attorneys suggests they offer legal services to the surrounding community, it is essential to consider the publicly available feedback regarding their professional conduct and service quality.

Information regarding the specific office environment of Richard Pu, PC is not available through the provided data. Typically, a law office aims to provide a professional setting for client consultations and case management. This may include private meeting rooms for confidential discussions, administrative areas for staff, and facilities necessary for legal research and document preparation. However, without any descriptive information or visuals, it is not possible to detail the environment of Richard Pu, PC.

Similarly, the precise areas of legal specialization for Richard Pu, PC are not explicitly stated in the provided information. Law firms often focus on specific fields of law to develop expertise and cater to particular client needs. These areas can range from litigation (representing clients in court) to transactional law (handling agreements and deals), and may include specializations such as business law, real estate law, personal injury law, intellectual property law, and others. To understand the specific legal services offered by Richard Pu, PC, direct inquiry would be necessary.

Given the absence of positive reviews or firm-provided information, an objective assessment must heavily rely on the publicly available customer feedback. The provided reviews for Richard Pu, PC are overwhelmingly negative and raise significant concerns about the attorney's professional conduct and the quality of paralegal support and legal representation provided. These reviews highlight several critical issues:

Lack of Supportive Paralegal Work: One reviewer explicitly states that they were made to perform paralegal tasks themselves, suggesting a potential lack of adequate support staff or a practice of delegating essential preparatory work to the client.

Ineffective Pleadings and Legal Strategy: The same reviewer mentions that pleadings drafted by Richard Pu were repeatedly rejected by a Federal Court judge. This raises concerns about the attorney's understanding of legal procedures and the effectiveness of their legal strategies.

Withdrawal Before Trial: The attorney's withdrawal from the case shortly before trial, as reported by a client, can leave the client in a precarious position, potentially needing to find new representation at a critical stage of litigation.

Questionable Settlement Advice: The advice to settle for a significantly lower amount than the eventual award, based on the prospect of a lengthy appeal process, is presented negatively by the client, suggesting a potential misalignment with the client's best interests.

Failure to Pursue Key Aspects of the Case: The reviewer alleges that Richard Pu failed to pursue a clear fraud claim, despite the client providing supporting documentation. This indicates a potential oversight or strategic decision that the client strongly disagreed with.

Post-Settlement Legal Action for Overlooked Expenses: The decision to sue the former client for overlooked expenses after a settlement was reached and funds distributed is portrayed as problematic and opportunistic by the client.

Taking a Federal Case to State Court: The act of moving a case from Federal Court, where the settlement was reached, to New York State Supreme Court is described as detrimental and requiring the client to incur further legal fees in a different jurisdiction.

Billing Issues and Fee Disputes: The client claims that Richard Pu sued for an amount exceeding his contingency fee agreement, leading to further legal disputes and an order for Richard Pu to pay the client's legal fees, which the client states has not been fulfilled for three years.

Accusations of Unethical and Parasitic Behavior: The strongly worded negative feedback includes severe accusations of unethical and parasitic behavior, indicating a deeply negative experience from at least one former client.

Given the gravity and consistency of the negative feedback presented in the online reviews, potential clients should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering engaging the services of Richard Pu, PC. These reviews serve as significant red flags regarding the attorney's professionalism, competence, and ethical conduct.

There is no promotional information available for Richard Pu, PC in the provided data. Typically, law firms might offer free initial consultations or highlight their areas of expertise as promotional tools. However, in this case, the lack of such information, coupled with the negative reviews, suggests a need for heightened scrutiny.

In conclusion, while Richard Pu, PC is listed as a legal service provider on the "Lawyers Near Me" platform and is located in New York, NY, the available online reviews contain serious allegations of unprofessional conduct, ineffective legal representation, and questionable billing practices. Local users seeking legal counsel are strongly advised to carefully consider this feedback and conduct further independent research, including seeking additional references or consultations with other attorneys, before making a decision. The provided information does not support a positive recommendation for this legal practice at this time.
