Jul 30, 2022 · Diablo SmithIF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND LIVELIHOOD, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER HIRE RONALD HOOD AS YOUR ATTORNEY!!! My husband had Ronald Hood as his attorney in his DUI case. On the first court date he was about 20 min late, my husband asked for his opinion on his case and Hood (not calling him Mr. Hood because he doesn't deserve the respect) told my husband that he needed more time and was going to reset the case. On the second court date, my husband wanted to fight the case, and he told my husband that he WOULDN'T WIN and that we should take the plea and pray that the judge doesn't ask any questions. WTF?? However the plea included 24 hours jail time. We decided to reset since my husband had work and couldn't be sent to jail immediately on that day. On the THIRD court date, Hood was 2.5 HOURS LATE!!! When he did show, he offered NO APOLOGY, NO EXPLANATION, AND NO REMORSE for wasting our time. He just put his briefcase down and asked us to "watch it" for him so he could move his car. REALLY?? He then came back 45 min later. Then he came to my husband to talk about his case and NOW the plea included 30 DAYS jail time!!! We still asked about his chances with fighting the case, he then told us that he didn't have the time to fight this. My husband then was forced to try to make arrangements on the jail time that he was facing per Hood's advice. In doing so, MY HUSBAND LOST HIS JOB!! However it was all for nothing bcuz Hood had the case reset again for a court date 2 weeks later. On this FOURTH court date, HOOD DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP!! The judge had his secretary call and call Hood, and he NEVER answered the phone. That made the judge so angry that he told my husband that he was not going to let him sit court and waste his time any longer waiting on Hood. Hence, the court date was reset for 2 weeks later a SECOND time! I am 7 months pregnant and I had enough of sitting in court, missing work risking my job waiting for his man to do his job. I got my husband to go to the Circuit Defenders office to complain about Hood. Once he complained, the complaint was set to Hood and he responded. We never saw the response. We were just told that he had responded he would be at his next court date, and he was too far involved in the case to be removed. Now here we are, court date number FIVE!! AND GUESS WHAT?? HOOD DIDN'T SHOW UP!! Not surprised at all. HE IS A DISRESPECTFUL, IMPERSONAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, NON COMPASSIONATE, LAZY, JOKE OF AN ATTORNEY AND NO ONE ELSE SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO HIS BLATANT UNPROFESSIONALISM!! AS I SAID IN THE BEGINNING, IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND LIVELIHOOD, YOU WILL NOT HIRE THIS MAN EVER TO "REPRESENT" YOU!!!!!!!
