Richard has been my family's attorney for quite a while and he is always a pleasure to have around. A very intelligent man he has saved my butt a few times too many and is very very good at what he does! Attorney Rothstien is always my first thought and choice when it comes to legal matters because he is a winner and after all that is said and done he can treat to you his own magic show for children afterwards. All around good guy. Great receptionist, Kelly and nice neat, beautiful office.
For individuals in Norwich, Connecticut, seeking legal representation within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, Rothstein Law - Richard Rothstein PC, located at 121 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360, USA, is a law firm to consider. They can be contacted at (860) 889-2381 or via mobile phone at +1 860-889-2381.
Based on client reviews, the office environment of Rothstein Law appears to be "nice neat, beautiful." This suggests a professional and well-maintained space where clients can feel comfortable during consultations and visits. The positive mention of the receptionist, Kelly, as "great" indicates a welcoming and efficient front office, which can contribute significantly to a positive client experience from the outset.
The services offered by Rothstein Law, as inferred from the client reviews, seem to encompass estate planning, specifically will updates, and potentially other areas given that Richard Rothstein has served as "my family's attorney for quite a while." The first review suggests a broad range of legal assistance where Mr. Rothstein has been able to provide significant help to his client on multiple occasions. The second, more detailed review focuses on issues related to billing and communication following the passing of a client who was in the process of updating his will. This suggests that probate and estate administration may also be areas of their practice.
Richard Rothstein himself is described in one review as "a very intelligent man" who is "very very good at what he does" and a "winner" in legal matters. He is also portrayed as "personable" and someone who is a "pleasure to have around." This paints a picture of an attorney who is not only skilled and knowledgeable but also has a positive and engaging demeanor with his clients. The unique mention of him treating clients to his "own magic show for children afterwards" suggests a friendly and perhaps even whimsical personal touch, though this is likely an exceptional occurrence rather than a standard practice.
However, the second review presents a starkly contrasting perspective on the firm's staff and billing practices. While acknowledging that Richard Rothstein "seems to be a friendly enough man," the reviewer details extremely negative experiences with his staff. These include allegations of rude treatment, demanding immediate payment shortly after a client's death, billing for services that were not fully rendered (such as executing a will that was not completed), and unprofessional handling of billing inquiries. The reviewer also mentions receiving a letter listing services that were initially stated as "no charge," which they interpreted as an attempt to pressure them into payment. Ultimately, the firm is reported to be suing the deceased client's estate for these disputed charges.
These conflicting reviews highlight a crucial aspect for potential clients to consider: while the attorney himself may possess strong legal skills and a pleasant demeanor, the professionalism and conduct of his staff can significantly impact the overall client experience. The serious allegations regarding billing practices and the insensitive treatment of a grieving family raise concerns about the firm's client service and ethical standards in certain situations.
Given the significant negative feedback regarding the staff and billing practices, it is difficult to ascertain specific positive features of the firm beyond Richard Rothstein's described intelligence and legal acumen. The "nice neat, beautiful office" and the "great receptionist, Kelly" are positive aspects of the environment and initial client interaction. However, these are overshadowed by the reported issues with billing and staff conduct in the more detailed negative review.
No promotional information or special offers are mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to comment on any current promotions that Rothstein Law - Richard Rothstein PC might be offering. Individuals interested in learning more about their services and fees should contact the firm directly.
For local users in Norwich, Connecticut, searching for a "Lawyer Near Me," Rothstein Law - Richard Rothstein PC presents a mixed profile based on the available online reviews. While Richard Rothstein is described as intelligent, skilled, and personable, serious concerns are raised regarding the professionalism and billing practices of his staff. Potential clients should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences when considering this firm for their legal needs. It is strongly recommended to inquire specifically about billing procedures and to seek assurances regarding the level of client service provided by all members of the firm.
In conclusion, Rothstein Law - Richard Rothstein PC in Norwich, CT, offers legal services potentially encompassing estate planning and probate. While Richard Rothstein is portrayed as a capable and personable attorney, significant negative feedback exists regarding his staff's conduct and billing practices, including allegations of rudeness, insensitivity, and pursuing payment for services not fully rendered or initially stated as "no charge." The office environment is described positively, as is the receptionist. However, potential clients should exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including asking detailed questions about billing and client service protocols, before engaging this firm for their legal matters to ensure a positive and professional experience.

May 19, 2019 · Lauren ManuelWhile Richard himself seems to be a friendly enough man, the same can't be said about some of the staff he has in his employ. Before my father passed away he was in the process of updating his will but sadly passed away before the process was completed. My father became very ill with cancer and had to miss appointments due to illness which Richard wanted to charge for. Fine. But the charges included executing the will etc which did not occur. So when we asked questions about the billing of $675 we were treated rudely by his staff and his staff demanded immediate payment mere weeks after my father passed away. I find this behavior extremely insensitive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, Richard's office sent a letter that listed all of the services they had performed for us (which they assured me they would NOT charge us for) and pointed out they could have charged us for these services. What was the point of that letter other than to strong arm us into payment? Why weren't any of our billing questions answered in a professional manner? At this point my father has been dead for 6 months and now Richard's office is not only demanding payment in full but is suing my father's estate for all of the services they promised were "no charge". I've never seen such unprofessional behavior from a law firm in all of my life. I don't believe Richard was behind this drama but he has to realize the staff he hires represents his name and reputation. Richard, please take this opportunity to take a hard look at your staffing and ask yourself if they are representing you in a manner worthy of your good name.
