Denis, Ryan, and the entire team at SSK are very professional, and caring. More than just attorneys they are advocates who tell you what you need to know, and now what you want to hear. They work tirelessly to protect you and your business. I can't recommend them enough, and I've had them as attorneys for years.

Scherer & Smith & Kenny Introduce

Welcome to Lawyers Near Me, your online platform connecting you with legal professionals in your local area. Today, we introduce Scherer & Smith & Kenny, a law firm located at 140 Geary St # 7, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA. Situated in a prominent area of San Francisco, Scherer & Smith & Kenny (often referred to as SSK) appears to be a firm with a team-oriented approach, as suggested by a positive client review mentioning "Denis, Ryan, and the entire team." However, a contrasting review highlights potential issues with preparedness and billing practices. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the available, albeit limited and conflicting, client feedback.

Located on Geary Street in San Francisco, Scherer & Smith & Kenny likely operates in a professional office environment typical of law firms in a downtown setting. Clients can probably expect meeting rooms for consultations and private offices for the attorneys and staff. The accessibility of the Geary Street location can be advantageous for clients based in or visiting the city. The overall atmosphere would likely be one of professional conduct, though individual client experiences regarding attentiveness and communication may vary, as indicated by the differing reviews.

The specific legal services offered by Scherer & Smith & Kenny are not explicitly detailed. However, the positive review mentions the firm acting as "advocates" who tell clients "what you need to know, and now what you want to hear," particularly in the context of protecting "you and your business." This suggests that the firm may specialize in or have a significant practice in business law, potentially advising on matters such as corporate formation, contracts, litigation, and other legal issues relevant to businesses and their owners. The long-term relationship described in the positive review ("I've had them as attorneys for years") further implies a level of trust and satisfaction with their ongoing legal support, at least for that particular client.

On the other hand, the negative review details an experience related to a case review, indicating that the firm also handles matters that require document analysis and consultation. The issues raised in this review pertain to exceeding agreed-upon review times, a lack of preparedness during a client call, and an inability to answer questions without consulting a partner. This suggests that while the firm may offer services beyond just business law, there might be inconsistencies in their administrative processes or the preparedness of individual attorneys in certain situations.

One notable feature, based on the positive review, is the firm's team-oriented approach, involving multiple individuals like Denis and Ryan. This suggests a collaborative environment where clients may benefit from the collective expertise of several legal professionals. The description of them as "advocates" who provide honest and direct advice, even if it's not what the client wants to hear, points to a commitment to acting in the client's best interests and providing realistic legal assessments. The long-standing relationship with a client also speaks to potential strengths in client retention and satisfaction over time, at least for some clients.

However, a contrasting feature highlighted by the negative review is a potential lack of organization or communication within the firm. The initial scheduling confusion with the receptionist and the attorney's unpreparedness for the client call raise concerns about internal processes and client service. The exceeding of the agreed-upon review time and the subsequent billing without providing adequate value also suggest potential issues with transparency and client communication regarding fees.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided. However, the positive testimonial acts as a form of promotion, emphasizing the firm's professionalism, caring nature, advocacy, and ability to protect clients and their businesses over several years. This long-term positive experience could be a significant draw for potential business clients seeking reliable and dedicated legal counsel. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary account, potentially deterring clients who prioritize clear communication, transparent billing, and thorough attorney preparedness.

For local users in San Francisco seeking legal representation and using Lawyers Near Me, Scherer & Smith & Kenny, located on Geary Street, presents a mixed picture based on the limited available feedback. One client praises their professionalism, care, and strong advocacy for businesses over many years. However, another client reports a negative experience involving unexpected charges, attorney unpreparedness, and poor communication. Potential clients should consider both perspectives when evaluating this firm. If your legal needs align with business law, the positive review suggests a potentially strong and long-term partnership. However, it would be prudent to discuss billing practices, communication protocols, and attorney preparedness thoroughly during an initial consultation to avoid the issues raised in the negative review. Contacting Scherer & Smith & Kenny at (415) 433-1099 for a direct discussion about your specific legal needs and their approach to client service is recommended.

In conclusion, Scherer & Smith & Kenny is a law firm in San Francisco with at least two named attorneys, Denis and Ryan, and a broader team. While one client review praises their professionalism, advocacy for businesses, and long-term support, another details significant issues with billing, preparedness, and communication during a case review. Local users considering Scherer & Smith & Kenny should weigh these contrasting experiences and engage in thorough communication with the firm to ensure their expectations regarding service and billing are clearly addressed before engaging their services.

I spent weeks preparing documentation so that everything would be organized when sent over for review. I was told they'd like 1-2 hours to review my case (charging per hour). When I had a call to discuss their findings, the receptionist first told me the individual I had a call scheduled with was out sick. Then when I was finally connected, they were not able to answer any of my questions. Their response was 'I need to check with my partner on that.' Not only did the attorney exceed the agreed upon review time (thus charging me more than we had originally discussed), but the call was an absolute waste of time. The attorney was totally unprepared, and I was left footing the bill. I would absolutely not recommend.
