Robert is THE best! Kind, attentive, and fights hard! I would never wish divorce upon anyone, but if you find yourself in that awful situation, Robert Scherzer is who you want in your corner! I could go into great detail about my complicated case, which there was only one other case that was parallel to it in the entire country. His advice and compassion and empathy got me through it . And the end result was better than expected because of his hard work and dedication. If he were not my attorney, he would be my friend. Robert has no idea that I am writing this review. I just decided to get on the website and saw that I could write a review. If you don’t have to get a divorce, don’t. But if you are, hire Robert. And by the way, his legal assistant, Kelli is a doll. “Team Scherzer.” Nicole

Situated in a downtown Portland building, the office likely provides a professional environment for client consultations and case management. The central location offers accessibility for residents throughout the metropolitan area.
When considering legal representation, it is essential to gather insights into the attorney's capabilities and client experiences. Scherzer Strom has received varied feedback from online reviewers, offering a balanced perspective for potential clients. One reviewer, Nicole, describes Robert Scherzer as "THE best," highlighting his kindness, attentiveness, and tenacious advocacy. Nicole specifically recommends him for divorce cases, emphasizing his compassion, empathy, and the positive outcome he achieved in a complex case. She also praises his legal assistant, Kelli, referring to them collectively as "Team Scherzer." This positive testimonial suggests a client who felt well-supported and effectively represented during a challenging life event.
In contrast, another reviewer, Richard Corbett, shares a significantly negative experience with Robert Scherzer. Mr. Corbett describes him as the "worst employee ever" and expresses strong dissatisfaction with his representation in a custody hearing. His criticisms include allegations of inattentiveness in court, a failure to follow client direction regarding questioning, a perceived lack of effectiveness leading to a loss in the case, and concerns about excessive billing. Mr. Corbett's review paints a picture of an attorney who, in his experience, was unprepared, unresponsive to client needs, and ultimately unsuccessful. He even recounts his ninety-year-old mother's one-word assessment of Mr. Scherzer's performance as "PANIC."
Considering these contrasting reviews, potential clients should approach Scherzer Strom with a nuanced perspective. The positive review emphasizes qualities such as kindness, attentiveness, strong advocacy, compassion, and the achievement of better-than-expected results in a divorce case. This suggests that for some clients, particularly in divorce matters, Robert Scherzer may provide dedicated and effective representation. The mention of a supportive legal assistant further indicates a potentially well-functioning team.
However, the negative review raises serious concerns regarding attentiveness, responsiveness to client direction, case strategy, and billing practices. These are critical aspects of the attorney-client relationship, and the issues raised by Mr. Corbett should be carefully considered. It is important to note that individual experiences can vary, and a single negative review does not necessarily reflect the experience of all clients. However, it warrants careful consideration and may prompt potential clients to ask specific questions during an initial consultation.
Given the available information, it is difficult to definitively state the specific areas of law in which Scherzer Strom primarily practices. However, the positive review explicitly recommends Robert Scherzer for divorce cases, and the negative review pertains to a custody hearing, which falls under family law. This suggests that Scherzer Strom likely focuses on family law matters, including divorce and child custody disputes. Individuals in Portland seeking legal assistance in these areas may wish to consider this practice, but should also conduct thorough due diligence.

May 10, 2018 · Nicole SanfordI am a retired businessman. Robert Scherzer is the worst employee ever. Robert Scherzer heads my list, as the most horrible person I can imagine hiring, to represent me in a legal matter. Early on, in my custody hearing, Robert complained that he doesn't sleep well at night. I figured out his problem. He doesn't sleep well at night because he sleeps all day in court. I also asked him if he would take my direction and ask the questions that I wanted him to ask. He agreed, but failed miserably. Despite his encouragement, that I had a 75 to 85% chance of victory, he lost. Then, he informed me that WE may have left ourselves open to some opposition attorney fees. I am thankful that I fired him and represented myself, in the attorney fee hearing. I think I was infinitely more convincing than he would have been and was able to limit my losses. After this debacle, I asked my 90 year old mother to describe Robert Scherzer's performance. Her one word response was "PANIC". I completely agree. I also sincerely accuse him of excessive billing, for his ridiculously poor services. No stars! Richard Corbett
