I reached out to Southworth PC in February for guidance and legal advice regarding a matter with my federal agency. Initially, I was encouraged by the compassion and understanding shown by the first attorney I spoke with. She even expressed a commitment to supporting Black women in the workplace, which gave me a sense of hope and trust. Despite seeing several negative reviews, I moved forward with their services based on that conversation. However, that attorney later left the firm, and I was assigned a new lawyer. While she initially sounded confident and claimed to have experience with federal cases, it quickly became clear that there was a lack of understanding and expertise specific to intelligence agencies and federal employment law. I was led to believe the firm was well-versed in this area, but I never saw evidence of that. There was minimal communication, no real progress in resolving my case, and absolutely no movement toward court or a settlement. My concerns and requests were often ignored or brushed aside. I paid over $7,000 and was shocked to hear that even more was allegedly owed without any tangible outcomes to show for it. I was told the cost went toward "extensive research," but if that were true, why was such a critical knowledge gap not addressed? Unfortunately, this experience confirmed how vulnerable individuals can be taken advantage of, especially when dealing with systemic issues within federal agencies. I now believe this firm never had the true intention or capacity to help me from the beginning. I hope my review helps others make a more informed decision. Legal services should be about justice, integrity, and advocacy, not false hope and financial gain.

May 27, 2025 · Tomeka ManuelTwo years ago I found myself in need of representation after suffering discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace. After multiple searches and consultations, I stumbled upon Southworth PC. They responded to my request and scheduled a consultation with Attorney Shaun Southworth. From the first conversation he listened and believed that my Civil Rights had been violated. I can now say that I prevailed before the EEO at hearing in my first case. Having Mr. Southworth’s representation during this difficult time was the best decision. He is calm, attentive, and focused; and this is what you need in legal proceedings. I’m forever grateful to Shaun and the entire team that demonstrated professionalism, courteousness, and support in my cases. Thanks!
Jul 15, 2024 · JoyHiring Southworth PC was the biggest mistake of my life. I had a very strong case as I was employed by my federal agency for 33 years with a meticulous record and many awards. Shaun Southworth, although on initial contact seems nice, is actually a very nasty and arrogant man. He takes your money in increments of $5,000 and uses it up rapidly .. and I mean rapidly with no visible result …until your funds run out then puts you on a payment plan and assigns your case to Georgia Lawrence. She is a very inexperienced lawyer who is so lacking in skills and judgement you have to wonder if she is intentionally losing your case. I had a grueling 6.5 hour deposition with the US Justice Department. She was on Zoom supposedly supporting me. She came back from lunch 20 minutes late which really irritated the Justice Department attorney then had to leave for an hour to speak to another judge on another case … leaving me on my own … then when she came back from that meeting she forgot to turn off her video .. and there was Georgia Lawrence sitting in her car! It was so embarrassing and unprofessional. I fought this case for five years finally getting to US Federal Court and Georgia filed my case in the wrong format so the Federal Judge disregarded ALL of my disputed facts using the Justice Department ‘s overly false narrative to dismiss my case. Shaun’s response was …well all courts and states are different! Isn’t that what his job is .. to know how to properly file a case in the proper format in Federal Court? He was supposedly monitoring my case. He took no responsibility for this mistake and damaging loss. He then immediately dropped me as a client. He refused to even explain the Judges decision to me… he refused to respond to my subsequent inquiries as of what to do. I have no means to Appeal now. I have to wonder if this loss was intentional or part of how he does business … taking a loss in some sort of deal with these federal agencies as many others have mentioned in his online reviews. I too am filing a complaint with the Bar Association and hope that anyone else who has been hurt by this unscrupulous, inept law firm will do the same. I had hundreds of pages of emails and witnesses to support my case that never was considered partially because Shaun was so tight with spending money that none of my witnesses were deposed as I asked, for repeatedly, so nothing was on record in support of my case. It was an epic fail and it all goes back to Shaun Southworth . Yes Georgia Lawrence is incapable but he is ultimately responsible. I am devastated by this as my 33 year career meant a lot to me. Please do not make the mistake I did and please go with another firm. Also I have been monitoring and screenshotting his negative reviews for several years now and there is a pattern for sure. Whenever a negative review pops up it is immediately doused with a sprinkle of several overly positive ridiculously corny five star reviews. They are clearly fake. I will also be contacting the FTC and DA as it is illegal to post fake reviews to defraud someone. I live in New York State and the DA here actively pursues this. I do not know how the State of Georgia handles such situations. And of course I understand how this “ good ole boys” club works .. nothing will come of this but if enough people file complaints something may happen. I once thought early on these poor reviews were reflective of perhaps clients that lost their case and were just upset but when you read them and they reflect exactly what you were put through ( i. e. excessive billing, rudeness, Georgia Lawrence filing your case wrong ( that is literally in three reviews and it happened to me as well!) not returning calls, not listening to you … not bothering to fully understand the actual facts of your case … etc etc)you come to realize that this is an indisputable pattern of doing business for Southworth PC… they are a joke and unethical! Its absurd. It really was a horrible experience from start to finish working with this law firm. The frustration was off the charts.
May 14, 2024 · Linda SaraceniRetaining Shaun Carl Southworth as an attorney was the literal worst decision I could have ever made. He charged me over $10,000 for documents that were always submitted at the very last minute. Were not accurate or detailed and in some instances wrong. I trusted attorney Southworth to represent me in protecting my career and livelihood and all he did was take my money and ruined my good case without any care or remorse. He was never available when I needed to speak to him regarding my case and even yelled at me that "I did not know the law". Then hung up in my face. Going through discrimination, prejudice, and a wrongful removal was super stressful and Shaun Carl Southworth made it 100x worse. Especially when I have been retaliated against after filing a EEOC complaint. Georgia Lawrence was inexperienced and it was clear she had no idea what she was doing. She ruined my complaint with the MSPB after I worked hard just to get the right to request a hearing with them. Very costly and unprofessional legal representation. They try to use fake reviews to get people to spend their money please don't fall for it like I did. It was a total mistake trusting these people to help me. I spent my savings paying for this legal representation and didn’t even get a EEOC or MSPB Hearing. When the case got to federal court Shaun pulled off my case and my career and reputation has been ruined. This guy knows nothing about federal employment law and has never won a case in federal court for anyone. He in Georgia Lawrence just were lucky enough to pass the bar.
